Both were very tender, juicy, and full of flavor. I'm not usually a big fan of beef intestines, but their signature grilled intestines were surprisingly good. They were cleaned very well with no unpleasant odor. The outside was slightly crispy, while the inside stayed juicy and flavorful. Literally my fav place to get intestines!! I was so sad when my fav intestines place closed down a few years ago until I discovered King Chang through my friend. I have been hooked to King Chang's intestines combo ever since!! My go-to order at King Chang is there intestines combo that comes with large intestines, small intestines, and abomasum. If our party is 2 people, the medium combo ($82) is sooooo much food since they give you so much side dishes!! I love that they give you a choice of instant noodles or kalguksu for free with the combo!! I love that their intestines come already cooked, so you don't have to wait for them. It's not fatty at all, since all the fat has been cooked down. Normally not a fan of small intestines since they can be grainy, but they taste really good at King Chang. The abomasum can get a little chewy if you leave them on the stone plate for too long, so make sure to eat them first or take them off the heat later on. While not AYCE, this Korean BBQ establishment serves a variety of meats but their signature dish is the gopchang (small intestines). While some may not enjoy the idea of eating the lower digestive tract of a cow's guts, gopchang is a Korean staple BBQ dish that is beloved and enjoyed by Koreans all over the world. We ordered the large intestine combo which includes the small intestines (gopchang 곱창), large intestines (daechang 대창) (my personal favorite), small cylindrical rice cakes (tteok), cabbage kimchi, and grilled onions. It is served on a large, heated, tilted cast-iron grill which allows it to simmer and the juices to flow downward where the onions, kimchi and tteok absorb the flavors. While the gopchang is ready to eat once it's served, letting it cook a little longer allows the edges and fat to go from soft and chewy to a crispy texture with enhanced flavor. As an Angeleno born and raised, I grew up eating grilled intestines whether it's in Korean dishes or in my tacos (tacos de tripas). It's nice to find places in Orange County that serve gopchang as well and with Koreans being more prevalent in Buena Park, it's not hard to find a Korean gopchang establishment. "Chang" (-창) translates to "intestines" and King Chang has proven they really are the "King of intestines." Long live the King. read more

He wasn't sure if he wanted intestines so we ended up getting brisket, bulgolgi and pork belly combo.. it wasn't until later, he wanted the intestines. Lol. This is a very good (and very popular) kbbq place right on Beach Blvd. It's very nice and clean and service was great. We ordered the small beef combo which included beef brisket, short rib, and seasoned short rib. There were three of us and this was plenty of food for us. (They were also generous with "service" items, so we also got cheese corn and pajun). The brisket was very good and the staff did a good job of cooking it for us so it wasn't burned. We got here past 9pm and there were still a lot of people eating. It is not an AYCE which is a good thing if you do not want to eat a lot. I found this spot on Instagram and decided to try it out for my birthday dinner and I'm so glad I did! My family ordered the beef combo for a large group. At first glance, it didn't seem like a huge amount of meat, but with all the sides (banchan), Korean pancake, stews, corn with cheese, and soups, it ended up being more than enough. As a fan of large and small intestine, I've tried many KBBQ places and King Chang in Buena Park has the best quality of intestine (not chewy, not undercooked, not burnt to death). The first time I visited was with my mom, and we ordered the intestine combo, which had generous portion and was cooked so well. I then visited few more times with my husband, who's not a big fan of intestine, so we ordered the Couple Combo with a side of large intestine, which we both greatly enjoyed. I enjoyed the intestines at King Chang LA, so I decided to try their Buena Park location for the first time. The BP location has much better service, friendly staff, portions of food, and parking!!!! Our server Grace was so kind and attentive! She constantly checked on us, cooked our orders, and brought us refills of the barley tea, banchan, napkins, etc. without us having to flag her down! I'm glad she was helpful in recommending the right serving sizes for two people. I find that some restaurants and servers suggest portions that cause over-ordering which can be really frustrating and wasteful, but Grace helped us choose the right amount of entrees.
