H Mart is a good supermarket, especially if you're looking for Korean groceries, but it also has a wide selection that appeals to most Asian customers. The variety is pretty decent, and some aisles feel a bit cramped because they stock so many products. The biggest downside is the parking. I was lucky enough to find a spot right away, but it's usually pretty hectic since the parking lot is shared with a dozen other businesses. The cashier is nice and efficient. Everyone is fighting for parking, and this is just not the go to spot for groceries if that's the case. Its kind of like the Whole Foods of this particular shopping genre. We wandered in while we were waiting for a table at SUP which was a few stores over. Stopped by to get some stuffs for dinner. Parking is abit tough, especially on the weekends. Took me 10mins to get a spot since parking lot is small and it shares with other stores within the plaza. This location is small than others but do have everything as others. The lines for the cashiers are long and after 20mins plus, I decided to leave since it moves slowly and I only have 4 items. Great place to get your grocery shopping done. They had a large selection of boxed fruits, suitable for gifting (which is why we came). Also had a large selection of new items that I hadn't seen before (shucked razor clams, frozen kimbap), so ended up buying quite a bit more than planned, which meant buying plastic shopping bags for 15 cents a piece. I was looking for milk flavor drinks and I keep checking almost every lane and couldn't find them. So I asked one of the ladys at the front cashier and said "do you know where are the milk flavors drinks "? She smile and pointed on the side and I turn. They were right behind me like I had passed them by without me noticing. She laugh and I did too and said I " thank you". She was nod very kindly to me as in your welcome. I used to come to H-Mart to purchase, the Maxim Coffee years ago. I am trying this Rose coffee, and so far I love it, it has a smooth and nutty flavor. I purchased the coffee packets which include both the coffee and the cream. I finally tried the Pepero snacks, these boxes had Korean Pop stars New Jeans on the cover. The service was great, the cashier mentioned the coffee I had in my cart was very good. The parking lot is shared with the entire plaza, I have been here at crowded times and still found parking, although its been several years since I was here on a Saturday afternoon. 330 pm, Saturday, June 7, 2025 The H Mart parking lot was full but not impossible to find a spot. Go for the ones furthest away from the building. I found a few open spots, avoid trying for the ones closest to the building. Right when I walk in, there's the produce section. And further in, to the left is the hot prepared foods. I browsed around to look at their assortment of kimchi... A lot! That's not what I came here to buy. I wanted gochujang... That's in the back right section in the spices. Dang, there's also a lot of different brands, spice level, and sizes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]And OMG, some people don't have any courtesy at all! JFC! Whatever... Lol, I don't have time for that nonsense. I was browsing at the gochujang selections and this older man and his younger male relative come and stand right in front of me without a word to grab a bottle of gochujang.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] And then another interaction with a family pair of females, older and younger as well. The younger woman, about my age, grabbed a tub of gochujang and left. But then returned because grandma didn't approve of the selection. Haha. I was told that she preferred the expensive brand, lol... Interesting. I grabbed two sizes and spice levels. There's a humongous tub that's 6.6 pounds! It's clean Has an AWOOLIM Kimbap factory with all sorts of Kimbap, Korean street food such as Tteokpokki, Shikye slush, kimchi friend rice & spam and many many more hot food ready to go and packaged. Parking here is always a hassle. Every time I visit during the day or evening, it's difficult to find parking and even to drive around, so I don't typically come to this H Mart. I've also noticed that prices at this location are consistently higher compared to the H Mart I usually go to. In terms of selection, this store is on the smaller side compared to other H Mart locations I've visited. On top of that, the staff was rude to my mom while she was checking out and leaving the store, which is another reason I don't visit often. Overall, the cashiers and staff here don't seem as friendly as those at other locations. Other than that, the produce and meats are great quality and worth buying. read more

Customer Service: I questioned a lovely employee about the food court and she went out of her way to explain the no food court/premade-lunches-to-go. So appreciated her friendly helpfulness. Chatted briefly with produce employee. And found the cashier to be quick & efficient. Store is reasonably organized for the humongous amount of on-hand inventory. Clean shopping carts. From the unassuming hajima at the register by the liquor line to the tall espanol with off putting make up. Wearing blue eye shadow on one eye and pink on the other. Really disappointing experience. I purchased fresh meat and also got hot rice, and the cashier packed the hot rice directly on top of the cold meat. By the time I got home, the meat was warm, which completely defeats the purpose of buying it fresh and properly chilled. Basic food handling should be common sense. Hot items and cold items should be separated, especially when it comes to raw meat. This felt careless and unhygienic. For a place that sells higher-priced products, I expected better attention to detail and food safety. Definitely double-check how your items are packed if you shop here. I do love this store, they have all the delicious foods and snacks. I love getting kimchi, rice cakes, all the other delicious foods they have here. The produce is always good and they have these tiny little shopping carts for kids which my daughter is a little tall for but she still loves using it. They have the best Korean stuff you need to make amazing dishes, they have already made banchan which I love too I always get the spicy squid, Radish kimchi, and fish. This store is almost always busy and so is the parking lot. I have been coming here for years, such an awesome store. I see a lot of my Yelp friends come here too :) amazing store love it if you haven't been and want some delicious Korean food come here. The fact that this H Mart is located at an intersection face off with several other Korean markets really makes the competition stiff. This isn't the closest H Mart to me, and I've been to several other ones in California. Overall this one is just alright and is a bit more "messier" in terms of things just being piled everywhere and being a bit more claustrophobic as another Yelper has mentioned. Huge L that it's in such an awful plaza with horrific PvP zone level parking, It took me awhile to find parking and I had to mentally prepare myself when heading out (huge line of cars already backed up because of me attempting to get out and other people fighting over my spot). There was also a dude trying to religiously convert people in the front and I guess its just the location as I've never seen this at the other H Marts. There's one eatery inside from what I can see and some shops which were already closed. Everything looked decently stocked but there was random trash all around the store from customers unfortunately and I left empty handed from this location. I love the great variety and selection of their products. I'm writing this review because of one of the most disrespectful and upsetting customer service experiences I've had at H Mart Buena Park. While loading groceries into my car, a cart attendant started following me and my companion. In a visibly irritated tone, he told us to hurry up and move the cart. I ignored it at first, but after he repeated himself, I responded politely, saying, "I'll return the cart when I'm done. Please don't speak to me that way." Instead of backing off, he waved his hand dismissively and acted even more annoyed. Feeling extremely disrespected, I returned to the store and explained what happened to a security guard, who then called over another staff member. While I was explaining the situation, I overheard a Korean staff member indirectly telling the other employee to "hurry up and finish" while I was still speaking. That kind of dismissive attitude from a staff member--especially during a customer complaint--is unacceptable. Eventually, the same cart attendant reappeared. When I asked for his name, he became angry at me. I asked for an apology, but instead of taking any accountability, he began speaking in Spanish with other employees in a way that clearly sounded mocking and aggressive, further escalating the situation. This was not a simple misunderstanding or miscommunication--it was a serious failure in basic customer respect. I felt humiliated, unsafe, and completely unwelcome. No customer should ever have to deal with that kind of treatment. I have reported the incident to store management and will be returning all the items I purchased. I also intend to file a formal complaint with H Mart's corporate office and post about my experience on multiple platforms so others are aware. I sincerely hope H Mart takes this matter seriously and holds its employees to a higher standard of professionalism and courtesy. One of the major things I miss about living in Orange County.
