I took my kitten here for grooming, whenI picked her up I was told she scratched a staff member, the staff member hurt her in retaliation to a scratch. When we arrived homed she was limping and I immediately took her to the vet for emergency treatment. I called asking if I need an appointment for dog nail cutting. It does not make sense for me to cause problems with you when I'm leaving my dog with you without my presence. Another 5 Star experience! Cookie (my 9 month old Shiba) has been shedding her winter coat and there was fur EVERYWHERE!!! After Roy took care of Cookie, I am now able to pet her without a wad of hair sticking to my clothes or hands! Roy was extremely friendly and great with pets that Cookie tried to run back to his arms instead of mine. He even gave her a little bacon treat and a cute bandana to complete her look. I have been taking my dog for grooming to this place for a while and didn't have any issues but the last time I took my dog there i was really disappointed with the haircut of my dog. The groomer cut the dog hair very short which was not what I was asking for. And I also have shown the picture of the style that I wanted to get. We have been taking our pup here for the last seven months for grooming and daycare. The staff here are personable, easy to communicate with AND they do a wonderful job grooming our little girl. I've come to Galdy in the past with my husky (whose since passed away). He managed to take several walk-in dog baths and doggy daycare which I was super appreciative about. This was about 3 years ago. Fast forward to last February, I adopted my first cat Mikey and on our third day of having Mikey, he managed to get poop stuck on his bum hole and lick it all over his fur so he smelled VILE. So, the next morning I took him as soon as Galdy opened and Galdy had no appointments that day, but he still took Mikey because I desperately needed him to get a bath. I was super appreciative of his courtesy. Mikey's 2nd bath rolled around and while Mikey smelled clean he kind of seemed like his fur was deeply wiped with a wet wipe?? And that they sprayed some sort of heavy cologne on him which made him smelled good. We had also requested Mikey would be deshedded to get his winter coat out.. but when we came home he had a good amount of fly aways still. Fast forward to today, I recently adopted a 2nd cat named Murphy and he also smelled like the shelter. Was very clear I wanted him to be deshedded because his fur was super dense, super coarse, and he was just shedding like no bodie's business. I wrote on my paper, underlined it, and then I verbally confirmed with person at the front (Not Galdy maybe one of his employees) that I really need him deshedded. He said yes, great okay. My appointment was at 2:30. I brought Murphy over at 2:20. In previous appointments, I've always stayed around the area and waited (except for when Galdy squeezed my first cat in between other appointments the first time). Usually, Galdy finishes before an hour. About 45 minutes have passed and I was wondering why I hadn't gotten a call. I walked in, asked if Murphy was ready, and they told me he would be done by around 5:30. And now I'm confused!! why didn't you start his bath at 2:30? So my new friend (who was very sad he had to go to the groomer let me tell you) was just sitting in the back waiting? Totally unacceptable. If my appointment is 2:30 I expect you to take my animal back then and get it done. And if you're running behind, I want you to tell me. I took a bus ride home and literally steps away from my front door - I got a call that he was ready. Two lyft rides later and we're back home. He still faintly has his animal shelter smell.. and he has his smelly perfume. Hopefully Murphy can clean himself and it will fade away. Bummed out the unprofessionalism with time and the fact that Murphy and Mikey still seemed a bit dirty. Galdy might do you a solid and take you in.. but he may be rushing the service and you will get lackluster results. I have had great experiences boarding my mini poodle, Nina, with Galdy! When I've called to check on her while away, employees patiently relate to me how she's doing and don't seem bothered by my inquiry. So I've been going to this place due to it being closer to my house. They've charged me on several occasions $30 for nail caps and nail trim of my 2 cats. They don't provide the nail caps, I do. I also use Zulu boutique for cat grooming as well and she charges $40 for both my cats same service above and provides nail caps. I sent for my cats to get groomed yesterday and they charge $60 for the same service above that they always charge me $30 for. When I call to ask why the price increase he lies and said signs were up and due to Covid prices increased. I asked the person that took my cats and he said no signs were up . Besides the fact you should tell a customer when they walk in of price increase regardless if signs are up. I don't trust this company. They are too shady with the pricing. He also told me they don't do a la carte when I've been doing that for months with them. Stop trying to scam your customers. I won't be going back. In response: I was charged $30 last month for the same service. Beware customers. There is no price listed for nail caps. I had to originally call and ask if they did them. They told me yes and quoted me $30 for nail trim and caps. My sanitary trim he only charged me $5 for because total bill $65. A sanitary trim is no more than $15 for one cat so even if he charged $15 plus $30 my bill would still be lower than $65. He acts like he did me a favor by charging me only $5 for sanitary trim. I think I was pleased with my recent visit to Galdy's. I called over the weekend to see if I could bring my pup in for a nail trim, and they told me that they have a half-off special on Thursdays ($5), so I decided to go then. The place has a small store front, offering a small stock of pet accessories. I don't think I caught the name of the gentleman who helped me but he seemed pretty nice. My dog normally has issues with strangers touching his paws (and even gives me some trouble at times), so I made a small request if I could just hold him while they trim his nails - something I was able to do at another pet salon which calmed my dog down greatly. I wasn't able to do it here (don't know if it was a communication barrier or whatnot), but I think someone else assisted in the back and he came back fine. Side note: they only do nail trim & filing, no grinding. Also, as someone else noted earlier, when you call them you get a simple "hello?" - wish they would have a more formal greeting as I did think I called the wrong number. read more

I'm beyond upset by my experience here. When I called to make an appointment for a basic bath and de-shedding, I warned the person on the phone that my normally sweet dog gets aggressive when someone tries to clip his nails. I recommended they not even bother with nails, since I really just wanted the bath. The guy insisted that they would do nails. At this point, for my dog's sake, I wish I had pushed back and said no again, but I told him that if they were going to try clipping his nails they should muzzle him. I even offered to bring in the muzzle I have which I've taken time to get him used to. No, they have their own muzzle. When I picked him up, lo and behold. They tried to clip his nails and he got aggressive. The owner/manager gave me a stern lecture about how my dog "attacked" two of his employees and I should warn groomers in the future about his behavior. I reminded him that I did warn them, and he said I should have been more specific. How much more specific can I get than saying my dog gets aggressive and either don't clip his nails or, if YOU insist on doing it, muzzle him?? I could hear my dog panting and yelping in the background while all of this was going on. He chattered and panted all the way home. I don't think I've ever seen him so stressed, even getting shots at the vet, and it was so needless! read more

What else can be said that already hasn't? My girlfriend and I were looking for a reasonably priced groomer for our cat, Sadie. She had never been to a groomer before and my girlfriend was incredibly anxious about how things would go. But apparently, Sadie was no trouble at all. The whole process was smooth and quick. It just goes to show how experienced these guys are that even our cat, who can be very anxious at times, found herself relaxed and pampered. I contacted this place as I was looking for a less expensive kennel for my upcoming 3 week trip. Galdy talked to me on the phone and offered to give me a tour at 5:30 PM on a Tuesday. I drove up there all the way from Andersonville only to find out they were closed due to some sewage pipe burst. Galdy opens the door and apologizes for not calling me to reschedule the tour and blames it on his secretary. He didnt remember that he never asked me for my name or phone number while making the appointment. I can understand he messed up but please dont think your customers are stupid. He takes my number and promises to call me in 24 hours. It's been a week and I still haven't heard from him. If that wasnt bad, the entrance lobby reeked of dog urine and some room freshener. When I asked to take a peek at the place he tells me that due to the pipe burst he can't show me the place. But I was hearing a number of dogs from behind the door barking non stop. If there was a pipe burst and you cant show me the place, what are the dogs doing inside? You get what you pay for and this hell is not for my dog. Thanks for not calling me back Galdy.
