Dogs enjoy the groomers and the ones I've experienced do great work. HOWEVER, I urge you to check and follow up with the cost BEFORE you receive services. They'll charge above and beyond what's listed as the groomers rate and auto- charge your card. Groomer was listed at, and I was informed by the representative who booked that the range for services would be $35-55 per dog. I was charged double ($190). Currently awaiting a response, won't be using them again. Fraud. Follow-up: Spoke to both the groomer, Maria, and Groomingdales (Pawgo), and both acknowledge the mistake was theirs, but no reimbursement for the difference for their error was offered. I've always had a geat experience with this grooming service. Not lately though! My furbaby had an appointment for May 1st, the groomer never showed up nor was I notified of the cancelation. When I called I was told that I could always call to verify that the appointment was still valid. So confused as to why I have to make sure someone else does their job. Not acceptable. I called on Monday April 20th to find out that that they were busy up until next week .. the lady was very short and unprofessional over the phone, so she stated that she scheduled my appointment for Monday April 27th @ 12:30pm. Today is now the day of the appointment and I waited until 12:35pm to call and see what was going on. The receptionist who answered didn't have any knowledge of an appointment for today and placed me on hold. Then after about 5-6 minutes she comes back to the phone to say I have an appointment at 1pm which wasn't true but I still took it because my dog needs the service bad, but keep in mind I have my own errands that I need to run. So 1pm comes around and I wait and wait until 1:25pm and call, the receptionist answers and pretty much has this attitude of not caring. I mentioned that I had other things to do and she says to me "so do you want to cancel" rather than being apologetic and coming up with a solution. She said she'd see why they weren't here yet and then call me back. It is now 1:44pm and I spot them pulling up and the person who's grooming my pup calls me , not the low mannered unprofessional receptionist. One of the receptionists was nice but the other one is very rude and shouldn't be working in customer service if she doesn't know how to talk to people. I took my dog to the groomer and they are now working on him .. it is now 1:55pm. Update - my dog was finished by 2:40 pm. The groomer was a very sweet man who took great care of my puppy. After that the receptionist called at 3:25pm apologizing for the inconvenience and stating that the groomer should be here soon... not knowing he already came and cut my dog. Their communication skills are terrible. Overall my experience with groomingdales was unacceptable and I won't be using their service ever again. Update , now a male receptionist calls me around 1:00pm on April 29th and asks how was their service, I explained all of what I experienced and after I did that he pretty much ignored it and said "so I'm calling to collect the payment". And so I ask is there any compensation for miscommunication and being completely late. He puts me on hold and comes back to say no because they're just starting again and they're late with everyone right now. So I ended up paying the full $85 for their service , and once I did so .. he apologized AFTER receiving the payment. All they care about is your money and not pleasing their costumers , now my puppy is being very twitchy and I did mention that to the receptionist and asked if he could ask the groomer if he did any service to my dog that he didn't mention to me and he said he'd give me a call back. It is now the following day and I haven't heard anything back. THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE AND MONEY HUNGRY , THEY CARE ABOUT NOTHING BUT MONEY. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. read more

Been going to Groomingdales for about 10 Years. I don't know what happened...new ownership? But the "new" Groomingdales is a hot mess. Continually canceling appointments with NO warning. They just don't show. Then they cancel the rebooked appt. And so on and so on. Now I'm being contacted about the fact they have to cancel an appointment I never even booked. Horrible business plan. I called multiple times to the location and no answer, it was mid day when I called. So I go online like they recommended on the phone. BIG MISTAKE! I create a profile for my dog and I see that Isabel has a opening that same day, awesome I thought, I was already at my grandmothers house; that's where I go to do the haircuts because I live in an apartment complex. She calls me last minute says she forgot to close out her schedule and has to reschedule. No problem stuff happens and so I rescheduled for the next day at 2:45pm. So I go and drive to my grandmas house and I get there prompt and I'm waiting and waiting and waiting. Again they don't answer their phones so there was no way for me to connect to anyone. Finally I get a call at 3:30pm that Isabel has "trouble with her van" and needs to reschedule for Friday. I told her no that I'm going out of town Thursday(today) & I need my dogs haircut. So she reschedules me for Thursday at 2:45pm but with Gabi, I was already annoyed and told her that they rescheduled me twice and I need my dogs haircut asap! Plus I have driven to my grandmas house yet again for get her a haircut! Third time is a charm right ?! WRONG! I get a TEXT in the morning, Not a call, a text stating that " a light has came on" her van and she needs to reschedule. This is ridiculous, unprofessional and rude. Honestly, never going to try this place again, never going to recommend it. If you are reading this review, don't even try this place. Run! Yes it is expensive, and I read the review by the gal who lives in Palos Verdes who was complaining about the cost.... Evidently she knows nothing about running a business which includes OVERHEAD - paying employees etc etc. Just had to comment on Randall D. who was angry about his cat. Randall you claim to be a DOG WALKER - I would never hire you after reading your disgusting - childish review. Why use the foul language? I had a Homebased business at one time, and could not imagine going a rabid laced profanity tirade as you did. Horrible conduct by a so called business owner (Dog Walker). Randall write your review but you do not have to go overboard with the language. You are a business owner yourself. State what happened but don't use the language. I was appalled by your language. I can give them a solid 4 based on the cost for what they do. Jennifer arrived and took care of my Roxie (she gets a 5 as she's great and very nice) my Yorkie just needed the puppy cut. Very cute, with earrings (you guys need bows for these doggies lol) however I added my own and boom she's super cute again. The cut was a little too low on the body as the box is probably more slim than average Yorkers with longer legs but it's hot- so it's fine ---I didn't specify that I'd like her about an inch of hair on legs and chest so I'll take the hit for that. I will definitely call them when I cannot get an appointment with my regular groomer. The plus is they come to you. So no gripe about that. read more

Jen of Groomingdales showed up for our first appointment with a big smile and very friendly attitude. She took our cat Pace, and he seemed very comfortable, which is not usually the case with strangers. Pace is a rescue orange tabby longhair who was suffering in this heat we have this summer. Jen brought Pace back from her van in under an hour, and he still had his calm temperament. Jen did EXACTLY what we were hoping for in a summer short trim. Pace is very grateful and much happier. Jen showed us the inside of the new van with all the latest accessories including foot operated lift table. Very clean and orderly. Our cats do NOT like road trips, and it made a big difference for Pace to have someone come to the house to do this. First class job, we are impressed, and Pace is happy. We had our pup groomed three times and scheduled a fourth. The groom itself was good but the customer service was horrible. On the third one they sent a different person again and they were late. I specifically requested a specific person on the fourth visit and after they were not here after 30+ mins from the appt they called to say the groomer is late and come to find out it was not who I requested, I said okay and they gave a new time for the day. That time passed and I called and they said oh just another 10 min I am tracking them. Then 30 more minutes and a call that they are behind and we can schedule two days out. NO THANKS. read more

I'm really happy with the service I received from Groomingdales today. From the time I hung up to see if they could fit my Pom, Marley, in today (long shot, right?) to when the groomer, Camille, called to say she was downstairs was 12 minutes! Not only was she thorough before the grooming (asking if I was sure I wanted to use clippers/cut my Pom's fur because of frequent issues with Pom fur growing back and asking if I had any pictures of previous grooms of my dog I liked), but she took lots of time to groom my Pom perfectly. My Pom is so incredibly soft, her tail is fluffy like I've never seen and she smells amazing! Not only that, but my Pom has really bad dry flaky skin (like dandruff) on her bum that even my veterinarian BF hasn't been able to cure. Camille said she spent a long time scrubbing/conditioning the flaky skin, but there were still flakes on her when I picked her up (which I completely expected), but I was happy to see she had far less flakes than usual. Several hours later tonight and all the flakes are completely gone! I'm shocked/impressed. I can't remember the last time she was flake-free, even after a groom. It really is the best groom she's ever had. Yes, it's more expensive, but it's worth it. The grooming quality, the convenience and the decrease in stress for my dog. I'll only be using Groomingdales for my dog moving forward! Oh, and my BF said my Pom looks the cutest she ever has (he likes her hair short). The groomer (Paula) came out on a consistent basis and was very gentle with him. The groomer was also very good about following my instructions for grooming with respect to the way that I liked to have his cut. We are going on our third time using them and have had nothing but positive experiences. We have a shepherd/husky/Akita mix... who has tons of hair. Grooming is not always her favorite time. But she's come out looking beautiful, and most importantly, HAPPY! Had my first appointment with Groomingdales on Friday at 2pm. I was excited to use them because I always see the van parked in my community. I waited 2 weeks to get an appointment with the girl who specializes in "doodle" cuts! The day of my appointment, I took the afternoon off of work to be home for the 2pm grooming. 2pm came and went, at 2:15 I called the office and asked what happened? The response was "she is running behind with her last appointment." My first thought- ok then why didn't someone contact me to let me know she was running late? I guess a courtesy call was asking too much. So I decided to wait, and hopefully she will show up soon! Now 2:35pm and nothing. I call the office again. I spoke to the "manager" who told me that my appointment was actually a window from 2-3pm. I had never heard this information. In fact, I received a text message the day prior confirming my "2pm" appointment. The manager went on to say that they needed time to clean the van between appointments. Frankly, that is not my problem. 2pm is 2pm, whatever preparation is requIred should be handled on their own time. She was not apologetic, actually quite unprofessional. I went online and made an appointment with Groomingdale's for the first time and was given an appointment of May 20th @ 1pm. At 11:20 on the 20th I get a call from groomingdale's advising me that the groomer that was scheduled to groom my dog could not make it due to the previous dog she was grooming was infested with fleas and the van had to be bombed. I appreciated that they did not groom my dog after that dog. So I ask to reschedule I was told the next appointment is not until June 14th over 3 weeks out. I advised the employee that my dog needed a groom sooner than that and that is why I booked May 20 and it was by no fault of mine that they had to cancel. She advises me that she will check all the groomers schedules and see where she can squeeze me in and call my back by end of business Friday the 21st. Well I never received a call back I waited till Monday the 24th and when I had not heard from them I decided to call them again. This time the employee said she'll book me for June 14th and then call me back with an updated appointment I agreed. Needless to say it is now Thursday I have yet to hear from anyone. I went online and canceled the appointment that was booked for June 14th. This business does not value customers and I will not be doing business with them. I was a first time customer and never got to use there services due to lack of customer service. Horrible first time experience trying to do business with this company. Very dissatisfied. If you decide to do business with Groomingdale's. I hope your experience is better than mine and they learn to value there customers and someone that is trying to do business with them and give them my money. read more

They usually have some availability within a few days of when I call, and always with the van that doesn't need to plugged in to my really old house wiring.
