My groomer was Sherry Reis, and she was absolutely wonderful. I had a great experience, and she handled my dog, Kuma, so well. She offered to let me sit in on the grooming appointment, which I gladly accepted. The biggest thing for me was that she truly took her time with both Kuma and me, which is so hard to come by these days. She was willing to put in the effort to teach me simply because she cares about you and your dog. She has inspired me to learn more about grooming so I can better care for Kuma at home. I truly believe Sherry would make an excellent grooming instructor because she has both the competence and compassion that dogs (and owners) need. I will never use Groomit again and strongly recommend that no one else does either. I booked their full-service grooming plus a $20 health service add-on expecting professionalism. The appointment took far too long (2 hrs for a 13 pound dog), and when my dog was returned, his haircut was insanely uneven and patchy. He also had a visible gash on his leg that the groomer never mentioned. Additionally, the hair on his ears still appeared oily and textured, which indicates he wasn't washed fully or blow dried, both which are included in the service. If my dog's behavior was truly such a barrier that it compromised the service, that should have been communicated before, during, or after the appointment. It never was. The groomer said nothing, and Groomit only raised that excuse after I filed a complaint. My dog is seven years old and has been professionally groomed every eight weeks for years. He's friendly, well-behaved, and goes to work with me daily in an office environment where he interacts with people all day. I've never once received feedback about behavior issues or seen a haircut this bad. I've included photos of his usual grooms for comparison. This was not about "nervousness." It was poor workmanship and negligence. After my experience, I reviewed Groomit's lowest ratings from the past year, and the pattern is clear: long delays, uneven cuts, and dogs being injured/traumatized. I usually bring my Maltese, Benjamine, to this company's mobile grooming service once a month, and Andre has always done an excellent job. Unfortunately, this last experience was completely different and honestly heartbreaking. Instead of Andre, another groomer handled the appointment. I asked for a simple fluffy cut, just to even out his coat, but when I came back almost two hours later, Benjamine was unevenly chopped like a patchwork cut. Far worse, he came back with little pink spots, nicks on his skin, and was clearly in pain. This is absolutely unacceptable. It's devastating to see my dog go through this. He can't tell me what happened, but I can see the results--and they speak volumes. No pet should come back from a grooming session uncomfortable or injured. The only positive was that they gave him a little treat bag, but that doesn't undo the poor grooming or the fact that my dog was hurt in the process. We have hired Groomit twice now. The first time was a bit of a let down, but our options are limited, and we thought we'd try again. NOPE. Big mistake. The first time we got our cat groomed, the groomer gave her a "lion cut", even though we didn't ask for it. And yes. We tipped him anyway. Today we got the same cat groomed again. I had a terrible experience with Groomit and their groomer, who went by the name Ocean Wavz. I booked a grooming appointment with clear instructions for only half of my dog's hair to be trimmed. When I brought her out to the grooming van before the appointment started, the groomer casually mentioned that her tail seemed a little matted but said he could work through it. He never mentioned needing to shave her and never got my consent for cutting more than the agreed trim. What makes this worse is that I brushed my dog thoroughly just an hour before his arrival -- and she has been professionally groomed monthly since she was a puppy. There was absolutely no way she was severely matted. Even if he encountered a tangle, it did not justify shaving her all the way down to the skin. The before and after pictures are shocking compared to how she normally looks after grooming. Angry doesn't even begin to describe my feelings toward this company and especially Ocean Wavz. Here is the most infuriating part -- this groomer was literally parked in in front of my home the entire time. If he truly felt something needed to be done beyond the agreed service, he could have easily knocked on my storm door, which was open the ENTIRE time, or simply called or messaged me through the app (even if there were issues with the app -- he could've simply gotten up and come to the door). It truly appears that he made a mistake and had to cut her to adjust for that - but even then her hair is not even (see picture). This was unacceptable, lazy, and irresponsible. I feel violated that this was done without my consent, and it absolutely infuriates me to now see my dog shivering because her hair is gone -- all because of this poor, careless, irresponsible experience. When I complained to Groomit, they initially refused to refund me and only offered a store credit (which I would never use after this). It wasn't until I threatened to report them to the Better Business Bureau and dispute the charge with my credit card company that they finally refunded my money. This isn't even my first bad experience with them -- the initially scheduled groomer never even showed up and lied and said she did. I had one of the most unprofessional, misleading, and frankly alarming experiences I've ever had with a service platform. We booked a Premium/Gold grooming package specifically advertised as including same-day availability, because our cat has severe matting and requires careful handling. Based on Groomit's own representations, a 2:00 PM appointment was confirmed. Because the grooming required preparation, the cat was given gabapentin (a very mild, commonly prescribed anxiety medication) by his regular veterinarian in advance of the confirmed appointment. He was monitored closely the entire day and responded calmly and safely. Here's where everything went off the rails: -At 2:01 PM (after the appointment time had already passed), the groomer finally called. -She stated she would be 1 hour and 45 minutes late--if she could even make it at all. -Her explanation was traffic and that a prior client had "last-minute upgraded" to a Gold package. -She suggested rescheduling to the next day and asked that the cat be medicated two days in a row, which is medically inappropriate and was clearly communicated as such. -During the call, the groomer did not even know the pet's name, repeatedly calling him by the wrong name, which raised serious concerns about whether she had reviewed the booking at all. When these concerns were raised, the groomer hung up abruptly and blocked the phone number. Immediately after, Groomit customer service was contacted. Based on the facts, they issued a full refund, and we were forced to find another groomer because this experience destroyed all trust in the platform. Then it got even sketchier. After: the appointment time had passed the groomer blocked the number Groomit was notified the refund was processed and a review was left We suddenly received messages implying the cancellation was initiated by us, which is categorically false. Groomit later claimed a call was received requesting cancellation...despite the fact that the groomer had already blocked communication and failed to show. This feels like retroactive narrative control, not customer service. This is not about a refund. This is about a platform that: Misrepresents service availability Employs groomers who fail to show up and block clients Contradicts its own timeline Attempts to rewrite events after the fact When pets are involved, especially cats requiring medical consideration...this level of incompetence and dishonesty is unacceptable. After entering the requested info such as dog breed, weight, and my location, I was presented with 4 options. The one I chose was "starting at $ 100.00" which included taxes and fees. I then booked an appointment, which asked for the same info as before. However, the price shot up to $ 158.00. I called the customer service number to inquire as to why the price jump. She couldn't give me a legitimate reason. She first claimed it was taxes and fees. I mentioned that was quoted as included. She then became belligerent and said it was my location. Yesterday, May 7th, my 100lb Great Dane had an appointment to be groomed via their mobile van service. I booked the silver package & also added on the health bundle & deshedding. Altogether this includes nine services: a full bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, blow dry, dry brush out, gland expression, teeth brushing, paw balm, and removing undercoat and loose hair. It was $256.61 before tip. According to their website, a grooming appointment averages 1-3 hours, depending on pet's size and selected services. From the time my dog went into the van to the time she was at my front door again was approximately 29 minutes TOTAL (we have cameras with time stamps to verify), for a 100 pound Great Dane to receive 9 different services. The groomer put in the app that he was there from 5:30-6:30, which wasn't true. When she was brought back to our door, she was very wet. Her paws and back looked visibly dirty. She wasn't blown out and didn't receive the dry brush or deshedding. Her teeth weren't brushed and glands weren't done. Her paws were very dirty as well which led us to believe she didn't get the paw balm either. We wiped her with two wipes right after and they were filthy. (Pictured.) The one service that was "done" (a full bath) was done poorly. I reached out to her usual groomer and they agreed- properly grooming & fulfilling all services on a 100lb dog in 29 minutes is unheard of. I suggested a fixed cut prior to my husband noticing the injury to our pet caused by their groomer. At that point, we couldn't risk having another groomer come near our dogs. We asked for a call from a qualified and trained groomer to assure us of their proficiency and to understand how they select and vet their groomers. Unfortunately, we haven't received that call yet. If they take the safety and well-being of pets seriously, they should have reached out to us by now. Furthermore, they should have sent someone to inspect our dogs in our presence to confirm the truthfulness of our claims if the photos and videos weren't convincing enough. I was charged $70 fee for the groomer arriving at my house, refusing to bathe the dog if I did not agree to a full body shave, then leaving all after less than 10 minutes. I have a 1.5 yr old cocker spaniel. He is brushed daily precisely so he can have a short to medium length coat. Never before have been refused service for him. No photos or videos were taken to show me or document why the dog was refused service. I was not offered a de-matting fee for the minor knotting on one of the dog's legs in the knee area. The groomer agreed the ears were also not matted. I offered that he shave just above the paw area which had a few tiny knots. I offered that he cut the 2-inch knee area with knotting. I even said I do not have a show dog, I do not need a perfect look, it's ok if he looks a bit uneven or choppy for a couple of weeks. I offered alternative after alternative but he said he would not do anything on the dog except a full body shave. He said I could take the dog back so I did. For this, the company charged me $70. I asked if it was the policy of the company that I could be charged after the groomer refused service. Because for a cocker spaniel, "grooming" is one thing & full body shave is another. At that point the company suggested I submit a ticket to consider whether I will be offered a full refund. Maybe this company is just for dogs with super short or short hair. Very unprofessional. Groomer Ashley Bridgett cancelled her appointment ten minutes after the appointment was supposed to start. I received many automated appointment reminders. But never any direct contact from the groomer that she was not going to show up and cancel last minute. I called the customer service line who was equally unprofessional. I never received an apology on behalf of the company for the extremely unprofessional cancellation. I had to guide her and how to address clients as a customer service representative. Not only did she say to blame the groomer, she also said that the groomer doesn't care that they cancel and doesn't care about clients. Absolutely the worst experience for my pet. For no reason, the groomer SHAVED my dog's genitals, leaving him with razor burn that is causing him discomfort and which we are monitoring for signs of infection. The area is red and our pet is not able to relax, constantly inspecting and licking the area and fearful of close contact. NEVER again with groomit. read more

BEWARE! My dog came back unwashed and greasy. Uneven cut, some nails weren't trimmed and ears were dirty. Not sure what I paid for. Had to go to a real groomer to get it fixed and thank god for that! read more
