Been coming here since, i don't know, the early 2000's? Kinda got an idea of what to expect. Well, it was a recent Saturday and my sister drove an hour to meet Mom and I for a quiet, pleasant visit in the lovely, nicely-treed patio of the pacific Grotto. But we were so disappointed. Someone decided that LOUD LIVE MUSIC is now required. This decision, in so many words, said "Yeah, we've given people a quality, delightful experience for decades. I know! Let's eff things to and bring add something people can NEVER get (pish ... yeah, right) in Cave Creek - - really freaking loud music!" Really, I could barely understand what my family members were saying to me with all that noise pollution. Needing TO YELL was not what I want. Not on Saturday and not ever. Such a lovely setting, with a tree filled patio and plenty of space to make you feel safe during Covid. You order at the counter, grab a number and they bring you your food. The Baja enchilada soup was delicious! I also enjoyed one of their salads with house made dressing, just note that their full sized salads are humongous and you will likely take some home with you. I half sized salad with a cup of soup was a perfect sized lunch for me. Would love if they offered a half sandwich and soup or salad combo. Easy parking and friendly service. read more

Really good food with generous servings. I enjoyed a vegan sandwich which was excellent. The person with whom I had lunch had the Cobb salad and enjoyed it as well. The Grotto Cafe is a quaint little resturant with the ability to sit outside. The walls are covered with musician photos which add a nostalgic feel to the place. Came here for breakfast during the week! Great atmosphere and great staff. Inside is many music posters and frames on the walls. Outdoor patio looks amazing; in the cooler months. Blueberry muffin was really dry. Mocha ice coffee was good. Egg sandwich was good. Oatmeal was delicious. Will return if in the neighborhood but not worth more than a 10/15 mins drive. read more

Also, my wife ordered a Bloody Mary, she loved it. This place is AMAZING yes, great food? Yes but this, THIS is for the two sweethearts that served us today July 2, 2024 right before closing. We had never been there before and the minute we walked in the sweet girl was sooooo friendly and kind. She was patient and just like sunshine. Then we had another sweetheart who served our food. They were both so kind that it brought me to tears before we left because of the kindness they both showed us. It's sad that it's very rare to see such awesome customer service these days BUT it's even more of a rarity to see it and know it's truly genuine. I love this little cafe! It is tucked away from the main road and has a great view of the mountains. It is hard to find cafes in the US that serve real food and are comfortable to hang out at for long periods of time. The Grotto has the relaxed and lazy feel of a European cafe, which I truly appreciate. The Grotto Bowl was not bad but the tomatillo salsa was great and made it super tasty!
