    Banana split latte
    Flor A.

Cute coffee shop and cafe with live music. I got an iced banana split latte and it was so good! The barista was so fast in making my drink. The cashier was kind and was helpful with giving us recommendations on where to get a good burger.

Coffee shop, bar, entertainment venue Janey's Coffeehouse and Bodega had been a staple in the heart of Downtown Cave Creek since 2010. It offers breakfast, lunch, dinner, and live entertainment every night (check the events calendar on the website). Friday and Saturday evening shows usually have a $5-15 cover. We met up with friends on a Friday night to listen to the beautiful vocals by husband and wife led band called The Sugar Thieves. It's first come, first served with tables and chairs all over the outside patio. With a popular band, it filled up quickly, but it made it fun as we had other groups join at our table and added to a great night of friendly chatting. It was a cooler night, but the portable heaters and dancing kept everyone warm. The menu is small, but there are a couple each of: sandwiches, soup, salads, pizza, and boards. We had a table of eight happily munching on the veggie board (veggies, pretzel, cheese, and hummus), the sausage board (meats, cheeses, pretzels) and chips and salsa. Ordering is quick service style at the bar inside. I've also enjoyed Janey's solo on a morning off work. I relaxed on a patio sofa with my book, their breakfast sandwich, and a coffee. Janey's is a cool local spot to meet up with friends or bring out-of-towners to experience life in the Creek.

So delicious and friendly staff! Best coffee ever. SF vanilla also tastes good. The breakfast burrito was amazing too.

The "little milk, more ice" latte

The smell of weed hit me as I walked through the door. I got an iced latte to-go. I asked for something with more coffee and less milk, but was given a regular latte. It was a very chill atmosphere. But I wouldn't make the drive to come back.

Didn't eat here so can't give full stats. But for coffee and atmosphere it is a five star. Hubby had a latte and I had an iced chai latte with oat milk. You wouldn't see it from the street but it has several different areas to enjoy from inside to outside with a lovely mountainside patio and a counter both inside and outside. Music on the weekends and a list of entertainment possibilities.

Love Janey's! Great food, drink and beverages. Live music nightly is awesome!!!! Indoor but mostly outdoor seating.

This is such a fun and unique spot hidden in Cave Creek! We came on a weeknight for the 7:30 live music. Janey's is a cute little shop complete with a bar and coffee shop. Both are open even in the evening! There's not much seating inside, but they have a huge and gorgeous patio with heaters. I love that there's a little outdoor bar seating that backs up to the bar. I got a hot peppermint tea with honey while my boyfriend got a beer - the bartender was great with recommendations! We were lucky to find a spot inside since it was chilly - and we loved the cozy and eclectic atmosphere. This is definitely a spot I'd come to during the day to do some remote work, and at night to meet up with some friends. Lots of people around us were also ordering food - the charcuterie board looked great! The musical act that they had was fantastic, they were fun and sounded great without being too loud for the space. Overall, I'll be back here next time I'm in AZ!

Arrived on a Sunday at 1 pm and were seated in a corner booth. All wood booth, seating is tight for 7 and would be near impossible for 8. Hard straight up back. Glad i brought coat to sit on although it was a bit cool inside too. Old western style decor inside. A little crowded and noisy but since we were huddled in a tight booth, we had good conversations compared to other places. Seating outside with fair number of people but heaters didn't appear to be on - I would have been cold outside. Mostly picnic table seating outside; sitting next to road although fenced in. Some pups with patrons. Service good overall but fairly slow. Lilly had to go verify the special for the day. My burger came several minutes after other entries arrived - weird. I had the horny toad burger with fries - great fries! Burger had brisket with bacon too - it was fairly good. We also had onion rings as appetizer which were fairly good beer battered style. Others had the Cod and taco's, but the bday girl had liver an onions which she said were very good. Everyone liked the taco's and chips that came with them. The creamed corn was just ok, and coleslaw fairly good. No offer of little dessert for bday girl which was surprising given we told the waitress this and made reservation just for the occasion. Drinks were good overall. Beautiful drive to get there, but doubtful we will be back much. Value was ok for what we got but nothing tremendously special.

Our bartender/guide was awesome - took the time to explain the whole distillation process, answered all our random questions, and really made the tasting feel personal without being pushy. Great energy all around! Their Carefree Bourbon is legit outstanding - smooth, rich with nice depth, warm finish that isn't too harsh. Definitely one of the best local bourbons I've tried in AZ. But wow, the Chakra Vodka lineup stole the show for me. All the infused flavors are so creative and well-balanced. My absolute favorite was the Third Eye - Grapefruit & Lavender. That bright citrus pop from the grapefruit mixed with the soft, floral lavender is pure magic - refreshing, elegant, and dangerously easy to sip. I could drink it all day (and almost did ). We also ordered one of their charcuterie boards to go with the tasting, and oh man - it was delicious! Beautifully arranged with a great selection of cheeses, cured meats, fresh fruit, nuts, and some local honey and crackers. Everything paired so perfectly with the spirits - the board elevated the whole experience and made it feel like a proper little afternoon treat. Highly recommend getting one (or sharing one) while you sip! Highly recommend the tasting flight - great value and you get to try everything. We'll definitely be back next time we're up in Cave Creek. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and stop in!

Unfortunately, both were almost completely devoid of smoke or seasoning, which is kind of a big deal at a barbecue joint. No smoke ring flavor, no salt -- you'll want to bring your own. Oddly, the chicken did have a nice smoky profile, which made the beef even more confusing. On the plus side, the barbecue beans were excellent and the potato salad was solid, easily the highlights of the sides. A couple of things really pulled the experience down. First, the live music felt wildly out of place. Instead of something that fit a barbecue crowd, it was a solo acoustic, Lilith Fair-style performance -- not exactly what you expect in a room full of 55+ Harley riders. It didn't add atmosphere; it distracted from it. Second, the service was painfully slow, which is hard to justify when everything is already cooked and just needs to be plated. Lastly, they offer an Outlaw Light Beer, which I can honestly say ranks among the worst beers I've ever tasted -- and I'm not picky. Bottom line: the barbecue is technically well-cooked but severely lacking in flavor. Because tenderness counts for something, I'm landing at 3 out of 5 stars, but there's a lot of missed potential here.
