Came out and coincidentally showed up an awesome Taco Tuesday. Led off with the Taco Lettuce Wraps then had a pair of tacos, one shrimp and one beef. All of the food was delicious and the staff was very attentive and candid! read more

Delicious food. Excellent service and management. The establishment is this unique, beautiful space unlike any other "cafe" type restaurant. There's an air of comfort mixed with sophistication. Highly recommend the portobello fries and bistro fries, as well as ANY of the burgers! read more

A really cool place to hang out. I found this on yelp, and was surprised to find that this coffee shop is actually located inside an HOA facility. I wish my HOA did this! So disappointed!! Bc this always happens. I came here last Sunday and the chicken and waffles were good. The chicken could use some seasoning but it was edible. Returned today and I could barely cut the chicken. So I asked for more chicken. The manager explained that the cook May have put too much batter which would explain the burnt appearance (well what explains the dry rubbery texture). So, I asked for more chicken and handed her the plate with the cold waffle and horrible chicken. I could hear the cook who had on a black apron and a black winter skullcap on say well it's going to be a while it's gonna be more than 10 minutes if she wants more chicken. The waitress did not come and communicate that to me I just overheard it. So I waited. And I waited. I get chicken with the same appearance with no waffle. So I had to ask her for the waffle. Not to mention the latte tasted like steamed milk only. Needless to say it was good while it lasted. I will not be returning. A waste of $35 read more

Came here for the first time after touring model homes in EM. My best friend and her husband raved about this place and their chicken sandwiches. Well, the food was alright - chicken was a little dry - but the service was awful! The waitress barely acknowledged my existence, didn't bring my water with the rest of table's drinks (then asked if I would like some water), forgot to add bacon to my sandwich though I expressly asked for it, brought me a side of ranch when I ordered mayo, didn't even ask my friend if she wanted her sandwich grilled or fried and just brought it out fried. She didn't bring napkins and tableware until the third time we asked for some. Walked past us several times without checking on us and ignored our empty water glasses. Overall, not very impressed and probably won't be coming back. read more

Visited for dinner a while back, would like to come back soon! We ordered the Penne with Vodka Sauce, the Cuban sandwich, and the Bistro Fries with 3 sauces. I like how they have so many choices of dipping sauces for the fries--we tried the paprika honey mustard, the chipotle mayo, and the curry ketchup, which were all delicious. The fries were perfectly sized and were hot and crispy. The Cuban sandwich and Penne with Vodka Sauce didn't knock my socks off, but they were tasty and both dishes had a little kick, especially the pasta. That tasted even better as leftovers the next day. We also got a couple of cocktails, whose names escape me but they were also good. I'd love to try their breakfast and lunch menus. read more

It's mother's day and my husband decided to take me and our 2 kids here to celebrate with a nice breakfast and try this place for the first time. When we arrived there there was only one table available but it was reserved. Nobody greeted us, there were 2 waiters (guy and girl) minutes later the female waiter there told us it should be about 10 min. We waited and 10 min later we got a table. While we were being seated 2 other tables became available and they sat 2 other families that were also waiting and by then the people that had the table reserved also had arrived. We sat down, and all 3 other tables got menus, and they never brought menus to us. They walked right by our table and didn't even acknowledge us. They got silverware to the the other tables, walked by us and ignored us. Then they brought drinks to the other tables and still nothing for us. Mind you, this 3 tables arrived 10-15 min after us. One important detail worth mention here is that we were the only dark skin people in the entire restaurant. After exactly 30 minutes we decided to leave. I approached both waiters that were just standing by the bar... and made them aware that I had noticed everything that happened and that it was completely unprofessional. The female waiter wanted to walk away as I was speaking and towards the end mumbled that she was sorry. This completely ruined my mother's day morning and i felt discriminated, and mistreated. I went to Grounds for lunch this past Friday. I had been multiple times in the past and really enjoyed the atmosphere and food. I knew that they had decided to randomly shut down for a couple of weeks to "revamp their menu," so I was confused to see that most items on the menu were the same and the changes consisted of adding a different salad or two and/or getting rid of a lot of items. Let me add that my gripes of my experience has absolutely nothing to do in regards to service. I believe my waitress' name was Kelly and out of all of the employees in that place (outside of the kitchen), it seemed Kelly was the only one who actually cared about getting work done. My mother and I ordered sangrias and waited a substantial amount of time for them, all while the bartender continued having a conversation with a woman (who I can only assume is the manager because she sat at the end of the bar on her laptop having employees serve her food, make her drinks, and telling other employees they could leave for the day loud enough for customers to hear)-- completely unprofessional. Our waitress noticed it was taking time to get our drinks, so she took the initiative to make our drinks herself. We thanked her and proceeded to enjoy them! On top of all of the time we originally waited for the drinks, the bartender decided 15-20 mins later to start making our sangrias. Our waitress asked who they were for, and he pointed at our table. She let him know she had already made our drinks and he looked over and told her (again, loud enough for us to hear) that she made them in the wrong glass and that we had actually received a glass and a half of sangria (score!) Here's a thought, though-- had he actually acted on the drink ticket when it was put it in, we would have had our sangria in the appropriate glass. Again, completely unprofessional. In total there were 7 tables full of customers and they only had our waitress, Kelly, running all over the place. The table next to us kept slurping on their straws to signal they needed refills and it isn't that she didn't want to help them out, but the fact she was the only one actually assisting customers and waiting tables made it difficult to take care of everyone. Food: I ordered a side salad with the raspberry vinaigrette, which was good, and chicken tenders, which I had in the past and absolutely loved. Unfortunately, those changed and the new chicken tenders were extremely fried to the point of them being hard to chew and definitely not even close to being as tasty as their predecessors. My mom enjoyed her turkey pesto sandwich and my daughter couldn't get through her 2 chicken tenders because of aforementioned total deep fry-age. Needless to say, I most likely will not be returning to Grounds anytime soon. The prices are just too high for the low quality of food and the unprofessionalism exuded by management and other employees is enough to just not want to be around that type of atmosphere. read more

Went for happy hour drinks and appetizers after work. Nice atmosphere. Ordered the Pinot Grigio-they were out. Opted for the house white instead. We all wanted appetizers. Selection was poor - all "fancy" apps. We ended up ordering fries. They seem to want to be a high end restaurant but the atmosphere and location does not warrant it. Was hoping for drinks and pub fare. We wanted food but the menu did not have anything we wanted. Hoping they offer better options in the future. read more

We recently had a bridal shower at the Grounds Bistro, and I can not say enough great things about Kim and company!! We experienced a friendly staff, delicious food and a wonderful atmosphere. They were very flexible to work with and very efficient. The presentation of food which included chicken siracha wraps, crab salad on croissants, mini bistro burgers, bistro berry salad and zesty chicken salad were amazing!!! Not to mention the magnificent mimosas! I would highly recommend the Grounds Bistro. You will not be disappointed! read more

We have been twice and so far we have tried the Meatball app...really good...Lettuce wraps...FAVORITE so far...Bacon/pear/brie pannini, really enjoyed (but would recommend they cut up the bacon :)...Southwest salad. w/cilantro/lime dressing...(my own fault, I hate cilantro but figured I would start with it their way)...salad is good but I will try with different dressing next time. The Bbq chicken sandwich...not what you think...(not messy bbq.)..but has a little kick, very good... Went into this place for lunch and was the only one in there. Ordered the club sandwich with gruyere cheese. Waited for around half an hour for this sandwich. Really?!?! There was very little meat on it, all bread. At the end, they charged an extra two bucks for the gruyere cheese that is not supposed to cost extra. Poor experience. Will not come again. read more

My mother and I wanted to try a new place for brunch. We stumbled upon this cafe via Google (listed only positive reviews)--had I went to Yelp prior to our visit, there would not have been a need to write this review as we would not have come. We came to the cafe in hopes of eating breakfast, as we noticed brunch was served on Sunday's before 2 PM. However, we did not get to eat breakfast. I should make it known that we ordered well before 2 PM (1:30-ish). I had a change of heart and decided to go for a lunch entree instead. I flagged down the waiter and asked him to change my breakfast order with a lunch order but KEEP IN my mothers breakfast order. Time passed. To our surprise, our waiter had informed us that the pancake machine had over-heated and could not be fixed in enough time. He also mentioned that breakfast items (i.e. eggs) could not be served because the machines to cook said items were unplugged as they were now making the switch from breakfast to lunch. (Folks who ordered after us did, however, receive their breakfast items). As I stated previously, my mother ordered her breakfast entree well before the cut off time of 2 PM, so we were displeased. Our waiter was kind enough to bring us a complimentary entree to satisfy our hunger, however, it was not that great. My mother then ordered a lunch item being as though her breakfast was not coming. An entree came out, but it was not what she ordered. Smh. This item was, too, complimentary. By the time she received her correct order, we were ready to go. She asked for the order to be boxed up. I work close by and go for lunch on the regular. The food is better then you'd expect a neighborhood club house. The have a pretty good selection and I haven't been disappointed by anything I've ordered. Taco Tuesdays are always good, I could eat their Cajun shrimp tacos by the dozen.
