This is truly a hidden gem that has been a local favorite for quite sometime. I had been several years ago and was so happy to find this gem that I knew I had to go when I was in Naples for my HS reunion. Nothing fancy here but some of the best seafood in the area. The Grouper and shrimp were fresh and the batter was light and crunchy. Went at lunch and got the lunch size portion which was a lot of food. Wait staff were warm and friendly and kept my glass of tea full. It is a very casual and quaint place which offers outdoor and indoor seating. They do quite a bit of business with a steady stream of cars coming and going for to go orders. This is definitely a must visit place if you find yourself in Naples.

I like to stop at this little restaurant every time I am on the area. They make one of the best soups around. I once tried the apple soup and was hooked with the soup of the day. Whatever soup they make is very good and my reason for stopping every time. Today's I ordered the seafood chowder. I didn't get the soup of the day the shrimp chowder only because of allergies. The seafood chowder was excellent. I loved it and it was delicious. I then ordered the Grouper sandwich. It was good and flaky. The service was excellent. The staff was friendly. I enjoyed my time here. I liked my time here and the food.

Fantastic grouper and fries!

Always have to stop when visiting Naples. The absolute best grouper ever! I love the blackened and fried equally. There are so many interesting things on the menu that I'd love to try , but I can't get away from the grouper. Yes, it's that good! It's a small place, so go early. The wait is worth it.

Linguine with blackened grouper & fresh vegetables and amazing dinner roll

Grouper & Chips delivers seafood the way it should be done--fresh, thoughtful, and consistently excellent. The New England seafood chowder is rich and comforting without being heavy. I had the linguine with blackened grouper, and it was outstanding: perfectly seasoned, flaky fish tossed with olive oil, garlic, fresh vegetables, and their signature lemon beurre blanc, finished with a warm petite pan roll. The tempura-battered grouper and fries is a classic for a reason--ultra-fresh fish, light and crispy batter, never greasy, with solid fries, fresh coleslaw, and great tartar sauce. Do not skip dessert. The "Dark & Tart" key lime pie with chocolate mousse is bright, tangy, creamy, and indulgent in the best way. Great food, genuinely friendly service, and consistent execution make this a must-eat in Naples. Ps the place is tiny and cozy, so if you go at prime dinner hours be prepared to wait but absolutely worth it.

1st time here.....we ordered the hush puppies which were good. I ordered the grouper & shrimp. The shrimp was excellent, sorry to say the grouper was mushy, only good thing was the breading. The fries were meh. Tried it, won't be back, was not good enough to want again.

We love Grouper & Chips! The food is always fresh and flavorful! A must try when in Naples.

First time trying grouper fish and WOW -- this place serves the best fish and chips in the Naples/Bonita Springs area! The grouper was absolutely delicious and the staff was extremely friendly. Highly recommend!

Talk about a hidden local gem - this is it! Family run small cafe serving first rate grouper, shrimp. I had the grouper milanese - lightly breaded in a wonderful sauce- rice and veggies at an incredible price given that it's Naples. Grouper & shrimp basket - well fried. Cole slaw fresh and delicious. Stand out: clam chowder - simply excellent. Can't wait to return. Tables outside too.

We stumbled upon this place in Naples for a quick dinner. The service was friendly and fast, and the place is small with a few tables inside. My boyfriend had the blackened grouper taco and enjoyed it. I had the sautéed grouper with buerre blanc sauce; my dish was light and delicious yet very satisfying. I tried the seafood chowder, and this too was really good. This was a great find.

Solid hole in the wall spot for local fish. Everything tasted good but definitely expensive for what you get.

We stopped in and ordered the blackened grouper and the fried grouper, both were fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. You could really taste how local and well-seasoned the fish was. The blackened had just the right amount of spice, and the fried version was golden and crispy without being greasy. But the real star? The key lime pie. Hands down the BEST we've ever had smooth, tangy, and just the right amount of sweetness with a perfect graham cracker crust. We're still talking about it! This is the kind of small business that makes you feel right at home. The two ladies serving us were so kind and welcoming, checking in to make sure everything was great and making the experience even more special. If you're in the area, make this a must stop. Great food, even better people, and that key lime pie is something you won't forget!

A Hidden Gem in Downtown Naples -- Don't Sleep on This Place!…read more I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and the place was buzzing -- the outside patio was at full capacity. I asked for a seat at the bar, and even though space is very limited, the staff went above and beyond to find me one. That kind of effort on a packed afternoon says a lot about this team. The bartender was phenomenal -- attentive, warm, and somehow managed to make every single person at that busy bar feel like they were the only guest in the restaurant. The whole staff carried that same energy. They were also wonderfully descriptive about the daily specials and menu offerings, which made ordering a pleasure rather than a guessing game. I decided to try the crab cake, and I'm so glad I did. I grew up on the East Coast eating crab, and I've had my fair share -- I've long held that Phillips in Maryland made the gold standard. I am happy to report that Captain & Crew has dethroned them in my book. This crab cake was pure lump crab meat, not overpowered by fillers or seasoning. You could actually taste the crab. The accompaniments they served alongside it elevated the whole dish even further. Thoroughly impressed. The wine pairings were equally well-curated. I took the staff's recommendations and they absolutely nailed it. A heads-up for first-timers: parking is the one small challenge. There's no convenient lot right there, so you may need to use a parking garage and walk over. Honestly? Embrace it. If you're already in Downtown Naples, it's a beautiful stroll that perfectly sets the mood before you arrive. Captain & Crew is a true hidden gem. Many people come for the fresh seafood market, but don't overlook the restaurant side -- it's absolutely worth your time. Highly recommend.

After sitting down, we started reviewing the menu and saw so many interesting items that it was difficult to choose. Fortunately, our server noticed we were struggling and she offered to help navigate us through our meal. Our goal was to sample a variety of options, but not to over order. And we accomplished just that! We started with some Stone Crabs, then some Peel & Eat Shrimp, then my wife and I shared an entree of Blackened Grouper with sides of fries and coleslaw, where we also added a few scallops. Delicious! We thought we were done, but our server informed us of the excellent Key Lime pie. We had room to share one slice, and we are so happy we did! It was excellent. A great balance of tartness and sweetness. We look forward to returning!

The location is unassuming and kind of hidden but I felt like it was a good sign to see that it was busy when we arrived. We were seated outside under a fan and it was actually quite nice. No joke, I'm thinking it's one of the best I've tried and I've tried a lot. I had the lobster roll, which was a cold roll, stuffed full of lobster. My husband had the shrimp and lobster Mac and cheese, and my son got the hogfish. All of our dinners were great. The hog fish was light and buttery, the green beans were amazing and didn't taste like an oversight, and the Mac and cheese was full of shrimp and lobster and not heavy. I wish we had saved room for dessert but we were full. Our waiter really seemed to enjoy his job and was so personable and professional. Highly recommend!

Meanwhile, regulars appeared to receive preferential treatment and were seated ahead of others. As for the food, the fried calamari, shrimp, scallops, and smelt were the highlights. All crispy, fresh, and very enjoyable. Unfortunately, the marinara sauce tasted watered down, and while both pasta dishes were cooked perfectly al dente, they lacked seasoning and flavor overall.
