The Groveland Grill on RT. 611 in Pipersville ,PA, is a small roadside kitchen specializing in breakfast and lunch. It sits in a small commercial strip and is easy to miss if driving at normal speeds. I actually had to turn around and go back to it as I went north and didn't spy it until I was passed the driveway into their parking lot. The house is clean, with about ten tables and a counter with seven stools. The folks working there are very friendly, and welcomed this first timer with warm greetings. I took a seat at the counter across from the Bunn O Matic where Ellis coffee was being brewed. There was a dark blue ceramic mug with side stainless of milk in front of me in seconds, and a two page breakfast menu placed before me before I reached the counter. These people were on their game. There was a list of omelettes, benedicts, pancakes/French toast, and combo platters, but I decided on a standard breakfast sandwich of sausage, egg and cheese on kaiser. The side of home fries with grilled pepper and onion bits was also too tempting to pass up. The sammy was doubled up, making for a fat and filling meal in its own right. The taters were alright, but despite the flavor from the sauteed onion/pepper, the tubers themselves were a bit dry like they had been sitting on the corner of the grill too long. Maybe my arrival at 10:00 had some to do with that, but a word to the wise... Loved the Ellis java, which was refilled as often as I desired. Groveland Grill is definitely worth your breakfast attention.

Perfect brunch spot! The servers are always kind and attentive. Has a homey-sort of feel, and I always come by when I visit home.

Alright, let's bring this one all down the line to the current:…read more I'm going to let the music do the talking. For every visit where I've checked in here over the past five years, I've probably forgot to on a 1:1 ratio. I'm somewhere in the ballpark of 40 check ins here, which should give you an idea as to how we feel about DAT. Not a whole lot we haven't seen here over that time. Masks, menu changes, trivia night, music trivia night, brunch, lunch, etc. There are three keys that run throughout. 1. Hands on owner. Nate is very present in some capacity almost every time we're here. Nothing he won't do from seating, bussing, food running to turning the Yankees on a nearby TV for a fellow fan :) 2. The randomness of the music being played. Anything from 60's to 90's rock, occasional R&B, maybe some disco or my favorite from last Wednesday at lunch, Yacht Rock. Nothing goes down smoother than hard cider with grilled cheese and goulash and a side of the Admiral himself, Michael McDonald. Fantastic vibe and hang here every time. 3. The consistency of the menu. The short rib goulash and any of the soup renderings are fantastic. Past that, house made tots, wings, burgers, crab cakes, beef on Weck, links, perogies. It's all so damn good, even though I think the secret weapon is the seafood. Anything done here with crab, shrimp or the seasonal scallop specials are guaranteed winners. I guess to keep 'em honest, if there's one small ding I could bring up it's the pricing. Admittedly, some of the menu offerings are on the higher end of the spectrum but then again, the quality is there and so is the consistency. You get what you pay for. It's a 40-45 minute each way hike to come here and as long as they keep doing what they've been doing here since the beginning, in the immortal words of the prophet Randy Newman: "We're gonna ride it till we just can't ride it no more."

They also came with corn salad which was flavorless. My husband got the fish & chips which was overcooked and dry. The disco fries did not have curds - just a big lump of hard cheese. The dining area seats no more than 24 and is expertly managed by Carl. Things started with a delightful amuse buoche. Ours was a bite of bison brisket on an herbed crema. Then came seared rare slices of NY strip with broccoli rabe, scalloped potatoes, and steamed albino beans. A scoop of watermelon sorbet to cleanse the palette was followed by a desert of peach bread pudding with blueberry compote and crème freche.
