I've been here twice and will definitely be back! I like to give the LEAST guidance when I go to the hair salon and basically let my stylist take the lead with what would look the best on me (I have a lot of thick, long hair), and both times that I've been here, I have the best time and leave with an incredible cut. The stylists at this place will give you the kind of haircut that makes you mad at your friends afterwards because they've let you walk around looking like a medieval knight. 10/10 read more

I had my first appointment with Kesli for both cut and color yesterday, and couldn't be happier with the work she did, or the salon and staff. The atmosphere is light and pretty and the staff was friendly and attentive. Kesli started with a careful assessment of my hair before starting, asking questions and offering ideas throughout. I left it to tell me what would be most flattering and achievable with my hair, which she did, asking to make sure if I was comfortable with the plan. I walked out of the salon with shiny, pretty color, a skillfully layered cut (with super cute bangs) and a meticulous blow-out. I highly recommend trying Grow out if you haven't already! read more

Updating.... After about 3 weeks my hair grew out and it laid better. I still don't live the bangs, but given the growing out process shows promise I'm willing to go back and try again. Fingers crossed. Updating again..... I ended up going back to Kesli and she did an amazing job! She cleaned up the cut and made it may well. She matched my color too. I've been back to her 2 more times and have been very happy with the color and cut from those visits. read more

Kesli is exceptionally talented. My hair is thin, but i have alot of it. Bouncing curls that I am always very reluctant to let anyone touch. Since I met Kesli, she has been nothing but sensational! My blond is always the perfect beige-blond and she is very good to listen to what i want and to help me execute it in the best way possible. i leave feeling spoiled and well taken care of. I recommend Kesli to everyone and have several friends who rave about her as much or more than I. Lizzie and Tina are also favorites and I have seen their work and can attest to it being great!! Jackie is great!! I booked my boyfriend and I appointments at Grow after recommendations from a few different co-wokers. I had Jackie and he had another stylist. I walked in with relatively long hair, wanting something a little more stylized and shorter. My hair is rather thick and wavy, but Jackie did an amazing job cutting it into a flattering, shoulder-length do. Probably one of the better haircuts I've ever had! My boyfriend wasn't thrilled with his cut. He has longer hair that needs to be layered, however there wasn't a whole lot of layering or styling done. His hair ended up more poofy than he would've liked and he wasn't trilled with the final product. I ended up calling the salon back to ask if someone could give it another go, and they booked him with Jackie. I have to add that the person who called him back was super apologetic and wanted to get him in right away. Great customer service! Anyways, he went in again tonight and Jackie cut his hair how it should've originally been cut. It looks great and he's happy. We will definitely be going back to see her! read more

It was my first appointment at Grow Salon. Full disclosure here, I have difficult hair. It's thin, frizzy and semi curly. My hair was too long and also a bit too over processed. I went in knowing that I needed to cut a lot of length, I also knew that I needed to get the blonde out. My first experience with Kate was positive. She asked a lot of questions and listened to my answers. We spent quite some time making sure we were on the same page. Long story short. I love my hair. It took a day or so for me to adapt. This place is so awesome!! I'm really glad my stylist JoAnn is now working at this salon, it's really nice inside and everyone is so friendly. I mean, she's amazing so I'd follow her wherever she worked from, she's been cutting and coloring my hair to perfection for 7 years AND did my wedding makeup, BUT this salon is a real gem. I love the vibe, love the products they use, love the wine they serve!!! Haha!! And Grow is so eco-minded, I feel really good about going there. Plus they sell Jane Iredale makeup which I am obsessed with!! Hank was the dream stylist I have always wished to find. He started out by asking me what I wanted, and as usual, I didn't really know other than I wanted to take some length off and do something mildly more interesting than my usual. He seemed familiar with what I wanted and assured me it would be possible! Next was an awesome wash/massage during which I almost fell asleep. Then, he started snipping away. He was happy to answer any questions I had about my hair, potential color options, and he informed of a way to lighten my hair without bleach if I was ever interested. Finally, he performed an awesome blow-out and styled my new hair exactly as I wished I knew how to do myself. The whole experience was relaxing, there was no pressure to chat about banal topics, and I felt confident the whole time that my hair was going to turn out awesome. Hannah did my hair about two and a half weeks ago and she did such a great job! I wasn't totally sure what I wanted to do to my hair but I showed her one picture and I'm so happy with the results. I love this salon! The staff is amazing! And I for one am a brunette and have NEVER EVER gone blonde! I was really nervous about the change and am very particular about my hair! I randomly walked in to Grow after getting a massage around the corner at Massage Envy. I figured I really wanted to treat myself on my birthday and get a blow-out. The salon is beautiful and well designed. I happen to walk in at the perfect time since they were very busy with haircuts and color but Taylor happened to have 30 mins while her client's hair processed. Taylor was amazing, so sweet and probably the best blowout I've ever received (I've lived in LA, SF, and NY so I've ventured in so many salons lol). I've gotten blowouts before where they leave it too flat on my head or they don't know how to tame my fly-aways and baby hairs haha. Taylor knew all the tricks. I walked out feeling fabulous and I'm definitely going back for cut and color. Oh and I love how green and eco-friendly the salon is. Just made it that much special. read more

Grow Salon is by far the best hair salon in Seattle. I went two weeks ago for a cut and color for an upcoming trip and was thrilled beyond belief with both the results and the extremely professional, friendly level of service. I have unevenly curly/frizzy hair and Kesli made it look absolutely beautiful. The new color totally suits my skin tone (and my taste) perfectly. Even better, after going home, washing and trying to style it myself it STILL looked awesome. Since having my hair done there, I have gotten so many compliments on it. I will happily make the 40 minute trek from my house to see Kesli because the experience at Grow is worth it!!!! read more

I wish I had better things to say. I was referred here by happy clients. I saw Kesli for cut and color. I left loving my hair! Well, that all changed after I washed it. First, she didn't wash all the color out of my hair and it permanently stained my towels. Second, she does NOT know how to cut curly hair. Third, I left a message for her expressing my dissatisfaction and she never returned my call. My hair is a wreck. The color is OK, not great...a bit too red for my taste but livable. The cut is horrid. It is for someone with straight hair. She decided to texturize my hair, when in fact she cut out all of my curl!! My hair hangs flat and frizzes. The layers don't blend and my once low maintenance hair is now very high maintenance. It will take me months to get my hair back to where it was. My level of disappointment is beyond words at times. This is the first time I have ever left a review on yelp. I felt other potential clients with curly hair should be informed. Not calling me back to at least try to make this situation right is very unprofessional. I thought she was very friendly at the time, as said by other reviews, and the salon was very clean. I really wish Kesli had returned my call to try to make this right. read more

I am devoted to Aimee (Ballard), who understands curly hair and that 'short' for me is really fairly long for everyone else. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this salon. For years I trekked downtown from N. Seattle to get my hair cut and colored. From Gene Juarez to multiple other salons over the years, I paid for parking and paid a lot of money for these services. I now go to Grow Salon and I love it. There is lots of free street parking, and the salon is so comfortable and stylish. They use ammonia free products, so it never smells funky and the salon is spotless. Yvette has transformed my hair! It is in the best condition ever because of the Eco friendly, ammonia free products. Yvette is not only the best colorist I have ever been to, but she is also a masterful hair stylist. She now is cutting my hair, my husband's hair, and both of our 20 something children's hair. Everyone who works in this salon is talented, friendly,pretty, and professional. I went to grow to see if i could schedule an appointment Molly was so helpful she told me the available appointments; unfortunately none of them worked so she told me to call back when i got home i had a few questions about the products grow was selling she immediately told me the price on the cutest hair ties ever (I ended up getting a mustache hair tie and a neon green hair tie) then i had a question about a product called a color bug I found out that a color bug temporarily dyes your hair in a quick and convenient way instead of just telling me the price on the color bug Molly went the extra mile and offered if i wanted her to put a sample of the color bug in my hair and she put three different colors of the color bug going up at least 6'' into my ponytail. i an very impressed with the quality of the Grow salon i would recommend it to anyone i would give it 6 stars if i could read more
