I was very impressed with Luis. His quote came in less than some of the competitors. He also was able to quickly get in and made a really beautiful area. I had existing decomposed granite, and when I signed the contract, he said he would remove the old decomposed granite to make a new path. Instead, he put down a thin layer of weed cloth and an even thinner layer of decompose granite. I have many parts in my yard where the weed cloth is coming up. The crew also took off with some of my stuff and Luis said he would drop it off and never did. If he is doing work from scratch, he really does do a great job. But if he was trying to reuse existing material, the work is fairly sloppy. I would also hide all of your tools and hoses because they may not be there when the work is done. read more

We found OC Landscape through Yelp, and he was the lowest bid, but it looked as though they would be able to do good work for us. He completely landscaped the backyard and put drought resistant plants along the house and decomposed granite throughout the rest of the yard. He and his team were also very good with concrete. We were so impressed that we allowed him to do the same in the front yard. This is where the small irritations during the previous work became larger. He failed to complete the job as promised and had to be reminded about many items that we had explicitly discussed and were in the sketch of a contract. Also, his team would fail to arrive on the day that they promised and left the sprinklers running on three separate occasions. At one point, they became completely unavailable for THREE WEEKS! I contacted oc landscape company to install artificial grass in a small area in my yard. Several other companies I contacted via Yelp either had a very high minimum they charge or flat out refused to do a job they deemed too small. Luis, the owner, was immediately responsive to my inquiry and came out to do an in person estimate within a day. His estimate for the grass was fair, and he also suggested a few other upgrades for my yard. While working on the grass, he and his crew discovered that the original drains running in my yard were not working properly. My neighbor had just encountered the same problem, so I knew Luis was genuine and not just trying to make money off me. In addition, Luis knew exactly which drain material would be the best for my yard. They fixed the drain issue and finished installing my grass. Let me be the first to say what a joy it was doing business with this team! I put up for bid, a small job of raising two gate pillasters up one level to prepare for new, taller gate installation due to the rotting of my existing wood gate. Luis, the owner of this company, contacted me via Yelp messaging, came in with a bid that beat everyone else's hands down, we chatted via text and then by phone, he gave me a range of what materials would cost, and he was here with his team within a day (he would have been here even sooner, but I was not available). The job was intended to be small, but finding an exact split-face match and size (8 inch) was non-existient (pilasters were built approx 25 years ago), so Oscar was able to take a full-size cinder block and adapt it to fit. The job also required drilling in rebar and filling with cement. Luis also found the correct grout color. Luis had texted me yesterday, Saturday morning and said his team was on their way. Together Oscar and his female partner worked hours non-stop until completion. I even brought them lunch and they didn't eat it until the job was done and the area cleaned up. At one point I was inside my garage lifting a box, and the woman came in and started helping me lift it. Also, I had another gate on the other side of the house that had swelled from the recent rains and would not close. Oscar sanded it down enough for it to close and lock, which reduced a tremendous amount of stress for me knowing it was open all night long. As well, instead of tossing out the grout that wasn't needed, Oscar found an area of my backyard cinderblock wall that had been peiced together in the past, and used the excess to fill those gaps so there was no waste. On Sunday Luis made a special trip to pick up all of the additional cinderblock that we didn't need to use. I am thrilled with this company and the workers! I was so thrilled, I tipped Oscar and his partner $50. They truly helped me out with EVERYTHING! Luis is very honest in his bidding with a fair price, and communication was great.
