Road tripping and stopped by G's Pizza today on a recommendation. Princess Kerrie was our server and she nailed it with excellent food descriptions and spot on service. Husband had the Pepperoni Pile Up pizza, I had the Wet Burrito and we shared the Cheesy Bread Spears as an appetizer selection that Kerrie said was a meal itself (it was). Atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. Can't wait to stop back and try more of their menu. read more

Delicious pizza, not great service. I had never been to G's before but had heard good things. We made a pit stop here on our way home from Traverse City. I was happy to see they had gluten free pizza and a few other gf options. I ordered a small gf pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms. It was your standard gf pizza, premade (probably frozen) crust, the sauce was decent and the size was rather larger with a few left over slices. Unfortunately this pizza doesn't really taste good reheated. My bf's deep dish pizza looked amazing and he reported it was really good. Our service wasn't great. The server was kind of ditzy and kept forgetting other tables items when she was helping us so she'd say hold on and walk away. She was not the most attentive nor friendly. One of our favorite pizza places. We got there right at closing. They were kind enough to keep the ovens on. They didn't even make us feel unwelcome. Food came out fast and was delicious as always! Best pizza I have ever had. I love pizza. They use more cheese than anyone anywhere. Awesome! The cheese spears are so good. The crust is delightful! I've always done takeout, but their dine in looks very family friendly and clean as well. I can't say enough about how good their pizza is. I'm a pizza snob, and this pizza is my favorite of any pizza in the area...and anywhere. They have a drive through window so I don't even have to get out of the car to get my take out. My second visit to G's in Kalkaska and my second great dining in for pizza experience. They have our favorite rustic pepperonis and substituted romaine without an up charge. The food always good. But yesterday i ordered food for my fiancé while i was at work. The place called me and the driver called me while i was working and said they had been knocking on the door for a few mins and i know that its a 100% a lie because there is 4 dogs in that house. 3 of them are big dogs and if anyone knocked even once on any door they would have gone nuts. My fiance was waiting at the table for it about 5ft away from the door. He came out to see the guy sitting in his truck as if the guy cant just drop it off at the door. So the driver is definitely a lier because if he had actually been knocking it would have been heard. read more

This is the second time I have ordered from this restaurant. The first time I waited over an hour for an order I had phoned in for pickup. Got it home and it was awful. We threw it away. Our undisputed favorite pizza in Michigan. I'm from Michigan and have tried every style of pizza the state has to offer. Now that I live in Texas, my first meal when I roll into our home in Kalkaska is G's. Our kids love the pizza pockets. There is not a better dough in the entire state. The breadsticks (parmesan) are so good you are tempted to make a meal out of them. They have gluten free breadsticks that are very good as well. Best sauce in Michigan and the service is always top notch. The owner is in most every day and stops by to offer his thanks for your patronage. From the reviews, I was expecting a good, solid, pizza. Not gourmet, but flavorful. It was not good. The antipasto salad was made of iceberg lettuce, and tasted of the preservatives on the lettuce. The pizza was almost completely tasteless. I mean really tasteless. I think they're using cheap ingredients, and it shows. Even the ranch dressing was tasteless. I was beyond disappointed at the wasted calories. The only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 is that the staff was extremely friendly, and our server was super nice. G's in K-town is just one of those small town pizza places that would even make Tony Soprano's mouth water. My affinity for small town establishments in general makes G's one of my favorite pizza places go to, period. There are so many pizza chains out there, where is the originality??? G's by far has some of the best breadsticks that I've ever had. They all very in length, none of them are in a uniform shape, and the cheese and garlic butter compliment the airy and soft texture of the inside of the wonderful pieces of heaven; if they aren't homemade and made with love, then they sure fooled me. Everytime I go there, it seems as though everyone knows everyone there, which adds to the ambiance of the family and small town atmosphere. This place is pretty solid. I stopped in with some family for a quick lunch. I can't speak about their pizza, but the patty melt I had was delicious. I'm a sucker for a good patty melt, and this one makes my top 5. The potato chips were a bit soggy, but all-in-all a pretty good experience. The wait staff were friendly and drink refills were fast. G's is a Michigan chain of pizzerias. One of my girlfriends favorite places to get pizza, we often go here when we visit her family in Kalkaska. The last time we were there, we noticed they updated the inside, even adding a bar. This time I made my own pizza, BBQ sauce, chicken and bacon. My girlfriend had a pizza pocket stuffed with her favorites. My girlfriend's mom had a side salad, mini potatoes, and baked fish. Overall the food is good, good enough to keep coming back. read more

Their pizza pies are really good. They are like calzones. Their wet burritos are also good, and their onion rings and jalapeno poppers are good. The onion rings and jalapeno poppers used to be fantastic, but have gone downhill in recent years. Their homemade ranch is still stellar. UPDATE they no longer have the poppers, but the rings are still pretty good, though not as good as they used to be.
