Burgers were great two years ago. Have gone downhill since. Especially when you order a cheeseburger deluxe and get some "spring mix" on it instead of lettuce. I ordered a Cesar salad and was surprised when it was "Spring mix". Asked my server and was told that"Spring mix" kept longer. WTF! No more baked mostacelli. No shrimp basket? This guy Travis is running the Ho in the ground! The place used to be packed on a weekend. Now it's 3/4 full. Sad. read more

We go there regularly, great burgers and other food is awesome. Pizza, fish sandwiches are good too. The staff is great.

One of the few restaurants in town, but it gets the job done. The food and beer is cheap, service is good and the food options are pretty safe. Typical pub options: lots of fried appetizers, burgers and pizza. I got a jalapeño cheeseburger with tots (can't go wrong there), and my husband got the salad which was kind of hilarious (mostly meat, cheese, and pickled items like green olives). Was a great place for a quick meetup with friends in northern Michigan. Wouldn't drive out of my way to come here, but would come back if it was convenient. read more

Stumbled upon this joint for a quick bite. And the food was decent enough that I would definitely come back when I'm in the area again this fall. I had the fried mushrooms and cauliflower with a pizza. The pizza was really good. The crust tasted like garlic bread and was perfectly cooked! The service was ok. Most everyone was nice. I didn't love that the servers would take their smoke breaks out side right in front of the open door so all the smoke would come back swishing at me. Wish I could of moved tables so I didn't have to taste it while I tried to enjoy my food. read more

The Kal-Ho is a northern Michigan staple for us. Their pizza is amazing. Recently had beef and barley soup there and was really happy with the flavors and textures. The service at Kal-Ho is always friendly and attentive. We've been coming to Kal-Ho since about 1999. read more

Classic northern Michigan bar atmosphere. Got a few decent craft beers on tap. A lot of menu options, though my experience with these has been mixed. A while back I got a grilled chicken sandwich, which was fine. Tender, well done without being dry. Nothing special, but mostly what you look for in that item. More recently I got a hamburger which was less satisfying. The meat was dry and bland, despite its $9 price tag (+ $1 upcharge for lettuce, tomato, an onion). It did come with a small side of fries, which were good, crispy and fresh from the fryer. Still, the burger was supposed to be the main event, and it was poor. On this last visit, I got served quickly after I arrived, though when I wanted to pay my check and go, I had trouble getting the attention of the bartenders/servers. There were two of them, and only about 6 people in the bar. They were standing in front of the bar talking, and though I tried to catch their eye, tapped my empty glass on the bar a few times, and took my wallet out while one was looking straight at me, they didn't budge. Not that big a deal, but still, there was no good reason to go ignored (or more kindly, unnoticed) that long. I don't often pass through Kalkaska, though I wouldn't rule out another stop here if I do. read more

Slid into this spot this afternoon. Glad I did. Glad I know about this spot. I've heard they have a great happy hour. I'll have to stop back. We had the philly cheesesteak pizza...darn good. I was at Munson Hospital getting some tests done and afterwards I knew I wasn't feeling up to driving 45 minuets home and cooking. I asked two people in the hospital parking lot where I could get a good pizza, but I'd already tried the two places they suggested and wasn't impressed. I got into my vehicle and got onto my "Yelp App" and found "Kal Ho Lounge". It literally was 2 blocks from where I was. I ordered a meat lovers pizza with extra cheese and sat back to enjoy the atmosphere. I only wish we lived closer because this place seems to know how to have fun and very interactive with their customers when they come in. Happy environment + a happy husband who loved the pizza (even warmed at home) = returning customers. read more

Good pizza in a barroom atmosphere. Wings are excellent. Chicken bacon salad is an excellent choice. Friendly workers.

We were on our way to spend the week up north when we happened upon this little place, and decided to stop in for a drink. Establishment was very quaint and clean. NASCAR was in the TV and everyone was cheering their favorite driver. Gentleman next to us was very friendly and was sipping on sailor jerry. Didn't order any food, but a couple near us ordered a pizza which looked and smelled delicious. Overall, a nice stop with friendly staff and patrons. read more

This place is a shithole. Took over an hour to get a burger, when I asked the bartender about the wait time she proceeded to yell at me. Never going there again and not recommending to anyone read more

Fantastic pizza! I am glad that we ordered a big enough pizza to have leftovers. This will definitely be a regular stop when we are in town.
