After reading other reviews between here and the Saginaw location we settled on the Bay City restaurant....great choice! Mia, our server, was certainly not missing in action (her reference) as she was very attentive yet not intrusive. We weren't ready with drink orders right away and she was patient with us. Our party of 4 ordered bone in wings with Asian Ginger sauce which were very delicious. Crispy skin, juicy chicken and tasty sauce. We also ordered breaded mushrooms which tasted very fresh and came to the table hot. Then we ordered pizza, gourmet meat with no ground beef. 12 slices and we thought there'd be leftovers, boy were we wrong! Loads of toppings, just the right amount of cheese and the crust! What can I say about that crust other than it was crispy, soft and oh so delicious. The sauce is very good but didn't overpower the pizza but was instead a fabulous accompiament to the pizza toppings. Will certainly be back to try the he-man pizza pie and I'd certainly recommend G's Pizza in Bay City. read more

Visiting family we decided to stop at g's. I saw a sign that said $8 pizza lunch buffet. I questioned how good a pizza buffet under 10 dollars could be. To my surprise, better than I expected. There were several options available: cheese, pepperoni, Hawaiian, Supreme, and on and on. It wasn't the best quality pizza, I'd probably rate it 7/10 with 10 being a far more expensive gourmet style pizza. For the price, it was definitely worth it. I even wanted to go back the next day but everyone else was pizza'd out. The frid pickles were the only disappointing part of the meal. They arr not something I typically order and only eat them maybe once a year. Someone else ordered some and I decided to try them. The food was good, but not really significantly better than other local restaurants. What got me was the watered-down drink I received. I ordered a whiskey neat. They (eventually) brought me a chilled drink (I did not ask for it chilled) and it was CLEARLY watered down. I asked the waitress if they added water (nobody in this town knows what "neat" means) and she answered with a less-than-helpful "I don't think so". It arrived luke warm which was another disappointment, as it seemed like it sat out in the open and was not in a delivery bag. The delivery person was polite, but that does not make up for the overall experience. I ordered 3 toppings and all were sparse on the pizza. This "chain" has gone downhill. Horrible customer service. Called to speak with the manager, corie, about reserving the back room for a small baby shower- the date requested was first come first serve- no reservations. Asked for a copy of their buffet menu and was told they don't have one, when I inquired about how people know what they get she rudely told me people come in to get the information. This review is specifically regarding the Italian Sub. I have my favorite orders from G's and pretty much just order those but I took a chance on a sandwich that they said was popular and then found out why. Boy was that a good sandwich! I actually ordered it again the next day. The meat was great, the cheese was melted and the bread was a really good choice. I don't know what kind it was but even the bread added to the flavor and bread is normally just the thing that holds it all together. I've got a new "Go To" order. Pro Tip- If you call in or order online for delivery, don't do something goofy like take your dog for a walk because they said it will be "60 minutes." I ordered delivery from here once and the guy showed up in 45 and apologized for the wait. They almost always deliver before the estimate and when they don't, they don't miss by much. Even that's rare. And for God's sake, give a decent tip. They don't have an easy or high paying gig but they work like they do. read more

I am a very frequent costumer of Gs and I absolutely love there food. I ordered online today, it being my only day off, wanting to stay in and enjoy food. My order went thru on my card but didn't go through how it normally does. I called and the phone line was not in service so I called the Saginaw location and the informed me there phones were out of service and my order most likely went through. Three hours later I went up to the location and asked about my order. I was told there was nothing the could do and I was fucked out of 60 dollars. Which is all the money I literally had to eat that day. They did nothing to fix the situation or frankly even acted liked they cared. I finally made it to G's. I grew up in the area and somehow never went to G's until this visit - why? I don't know. I do know that I'll be back though (especially now that Tommy V's is no more). Dined here over the holidays with my Mom (*she remembers going here thirty years ago!) and we had a delicious, cheese-filled lunch of Greek salad (long platter of shredded lettuce topped with beets, feta, onion, tomato with good house italian dressing), cheesy "spears" (aka mozz topped breadsticks), and a rather large pizza pocket (Greek - with feta, olives, broccoli, peppers, onion). We split everything we ordered, and it was a feast - we couldn't finish everything, which was sad, because everything was really good. The salad was huge, albeit pretty basic; the spears were hot, soft, chewy and covered in lots of cheese; the pocket was big! definitely fit for two. Could not get a simple request for an antipasto salad correct on a takeout order. Worst salad with pretty much all lettuce. Waste of money. Hold onions... they put onions on it. Food is consistently delicious. The staff is consistently friendly and accommodating when able. The place is clean and has a warm atmosphere. The prices are decent. The original spears with marinara or nacho cheese are fantastic! Also cannot go wrong with the pizza. The sandwiches are pretty tasty, too. They make the bread in house. Our final meal of the weekend was like most meals of the weekend - beer and pizza. Sunday night in Bay City, MI is not the liveliest of places but we did manage to find the local pizza spot open. G's Pizzeria is the go to spot and we had the place to ourselves at 9:30pm. We ordered a few pitchers, some cheesy bread and everyone went with the famous "pizza pocket." I tried to keep it relatively healthy with the vegetarian, but we all know that's just for show. If I could rate them 0 I would. I placed my order online at 7:30pm. Said it would take 45 minutes. 8:40pm rolls around and I call them to see where it is. The lady told me at this point that it was out for delivery. 9:30pm comes. I call them again and tell them I want my money back. 2 hours at this point is ridiculous. The person who answers tells me it didn't get delivered because my address didn't go through with the order. She also said customers call after they place an online order to make sure it goes through. She literally told me it was my responsibility to make sure I knew where they were going. Not only did they fail to call me to get my address when they got my order, but they also failed to mention it when I called the first time. From the moment I sat down, I had a bad feeling. Every table had a stand for playing the Keno lottery. Definitely what I'm interested in when I'm dining. Within two minutes of sitting down, the waitress wanted to take our order. Very strange menu of pizza, pasta, mexican, and burgers. The food is....not good. I had the spaghetti with spicy meatballs. The spicy meatballs weren't, the pasta was overcooked, and the sauce was tasteless. My wife had Garlic Mushroom Cavatappi. It too was flavorless, and the pasta was overcooked. The "Finger Bread" was made with too much yeast and was greasy. Worse meal I've had in a long time. Maybe their pizza is OK, but I won't be going back to find out. Seriously, there are way better Italian places than this in Bay City. Stay away from this one. read more

Excellent pizza! We've had the Sicilian pizza and Spicy Italian pizza and both were savory, had generous toppings and the crust was perfectly crispy. We ordered the buffalo tots which was a good portion for 3-4 people to share. Although I personally would've like more buffalo sauce and blue cheese. I figured maybe they went light on the sauce so the tots wouldn't be soggy. Overall great local place!! read more
