The food was amazing, I got the Carbonara while my Dad got the Spinach Manicotti. Both were absolutely heavenly and we definitely stole some from each other. Side salads were great and the Italian dressing was great; I wouldn't be surprised if it was made in-house. We then topped it all off with two tiramisu brownies which survived about a minute on our table. We just had our first pizza...ham, sausage, red onion and it was wonderful. It reminded us of our favorite pizza at Dough in San Antonio, from when we lived there a few years ago. And the cannolis..don't miss that! Next time we are coming through, we will try some of the South Tx options. So finding this place was kind of by accident. We were at Tri-City brewing and landed on their menu. They have wonderful, thoughtful combinations and ingredients you don't see very often in this area. What really made this place is the crust. It has that wonderful chewy quality that holds up for leftovers the next day. I am moving away from the area so I wanted to see the brick and mortar location before I left. The place is well kept (their health score reflects that) and they had a specials board with a pizza not on the menu. It's got cute chalkboards with the specials and flowers outside along with other thoughtful touches which to me shows that they are putting their heart and soul into this place. It is seat yourself table service. They also had football on while we were there. I suggest getting the San Manuel or whatever they have on the specials board. One of the best pizza places in Michigan. I think it's between this place and another pizza restaurant on Midland Street for the title. I have never had a bad meal at Gulinos. Their pizza is fantastic, made fresh and cooked in a wood-fired oven. Their cheese bread also is amazing and delicious. Their other food like lasagna also does not disappoint. The one thing that distinguishes Gulinos from other pizza places is that they have a wide variety of special pizzas and are always trying new things out. The family that owns a the place is wonderful as well. I even like that it's small inside and next to the railroad tracks. 10/10.
