John is essentially a one man operation, running out of a shop in downtown Littleton. I got in…read moretouch with him after someone recommended his services. Specifically I was looking to get a custom piece of jewelry made for my girlfriend (birthday gift!). I brought in a cut and polished slice of meteorite and was looking to have it set into a pendant. I talked with John over the phone and met with him to discuss design and the timeframe I was trying to hit. The end quality of the piece was beyond what I had in mind and both myself and my girlfriend (in the end whose opinion matters) were very impressed. Beyond technical merit, I believe the appeal of the shop lies in John's passion for design and customer satisfaction. I never felt hurried and rushed to leave. He was more than happy to talk about the finer nuances of the business and educate me on some of my misgivings (I would not consider myself a sophisticated buyer of jewelry or gemstones). John tries to be a full service jeweler. He does repairs in addition to crafting unique pieces. He's been a professional goldsmith for more than 30 years as well as being a platinum specialist. John is a diamond broker as well and has quite a collection of unusual/fine gemstones. Being a graduate gemologist he showed me various stones I've never seen or even heard of. I'd definitely work with John again in the future for any needs I may have in the jewelry space. Give him a shot, I'm confident you won't be disappointed.

Not only are his technical skills and craftsmanship the best I've ever seen, his eye for design and quality are phenomenal. I have sent several friends here for engagement rings and wedding bands, and all have been VERY happy with the results, both with quality and price. HOWEVER. I just have to warn you about one thing. Do not put your Shane Company jewelry next to John's. You will be very unhappy that you spent money on anything at Shane Company.

My new obsession. This is a beautiful boutique in downtown Littleton. No snobbery. The minute I…read morewalked in I wanted to live there. The displays, the soft colors and gorgeous metals were so enticing. My husband came with me to pick out a Christmas present for me and I happily obliged. He chose lovely gold earrings and a necklace with a simple gold design accented by a few little beads down one side. 100% me and I absolutely love them. One unique piece of this business is the artisans in the back, hand making the jewelry. You can watch them from afar and I was spellbound. Handmade and onsite no less?! Yes. Second thought- I can't afford this jewelry. Hmm. Third thought after looking around- oh yes I can. There's a range of prices from simple gold hoops at $25 to detailed baubles and bejeweled necklaces over $100+. I saw a knockout of a wrap bracelet with three rows of cool gemstone colors for $179. Immediately decided I would come back for it later. Hah. I challenge you to find something of this quality and craftsmanship anywhere (Etsy, Nordstrom, other boutiques etc) for anywhere near this price. I love to be able to touch and feel the weight of the jewelry so the hands on, local experience is always my favorite. I'm already making another excuse to stop by. Thanks Original Hardware for making lovely unique jewels that I know I can wear for many, many years.

I probably have walked in there 20 times over the years. I don't think anyone recognizes me (which is fine by me), but I have never encountered anyone being rude to me. I tell the salesperson I am "just browsing" and I feel quite comfortable walking around and exploring. Sometimes I chit chat with the sales person, but I have never felt ignored or judged. It is a small business, many times they're multi-tasking, but that's the way it goes. I have noticed the prices have gone up but their costs have gone up too I am sure.

I went to pick up the bracelet and I didn't get my old clasp back. The staff acted like I was insane for wanting my gold clasp back and told me it was "baked into the price". I was told over a week ago they would try to get it back for me though it was likely "destroyed" by the jeweler but haven't heard a word from them. I've never had jewelry repaired or replaced before and not received my original items back. The ring I brought in for a quote and was a family heirloom. Due to a miscommunication, the jeweler did the work without getting my approval, not understanding I only wanted a quote at the moment. When the store called me to tell me what happened they told me it would be over $600. When I declined to pay that as I only wanted a quote, they called me back the next day and offered to "meet me in the middle" and I pay half. I again decline. Ultimately they did the right thing and didn't charge me. I do want to say the work done was beautiful but they kept the gold clasp from my bracelet and made changes to an heirloom piece of jewelry I wasn't yet ready to change without my approval. I will not be trusting them with any of my jewelry in the future.
