We tried Guac N Tacos last night. We ate outside and had brought our two small dogs too. I ordered their steak tacos, a chicken taco, and chips and salsa. My wife ordered the nachos with steak. The steak was way better than expected. I stated GNT's steak is much better than our local place. The chicken taco was so flavorful. The nachos are good, and be careful the salsa is a bit spicy as in a kick. It's not a burn your mouth kind, but be ready with a drink all the same. Should you order the nachos be aware they are pretty big. The plate was stacked high and had lots of meat. I also had a pomegranate margarita that was delicious. I highly recommend. Meh, it was OK. The service was great but the food fell short. This is a casual Mexican spot that seats about 30ish. There is outdoor seating as well. The staff member that helped me was really nice and friendly. The food was fine, kind of. Way too pricey for how small the portions are. The ground beef taco tasted weird to me. 6/30/26 , food over cooked and bland, no air conditioning, just left movies (Supergirl) wife and granddaughter (9). Beans were actually tan color and runny, the rice had no taste or flavor of any kind. Over charged for kids meal, charged $4.69 for a small sprite (8oz). The tacos are about $3.75 each which would be fine except the tacos are about 4 inches, like street tacos. They were ok on taste, chicken was dry. They charge a 3% credit card surcharge even when you pay with debit. I paid $24 for four small tacos and a drink. Nothing special. Pricy for not that much food and then when you get the food it is not that good. My husband was hungry when he sat down to eat his taco "dinner" which includes rice and beans and we each ordered an additional side of corn which is like 1/4 a cup. The taco is one baby tortillas.....not doubled like when you go to a real Mexican restaurant. I got the veggie tacos and the veggies were not cooked in anything flavorful. We are in the area. A pretty cool place here and glad we got off the train and ate. Guac N Tacos is a small casual Mexican cabana. It has a few locations including this one in Western Springs. Has these small tacos but they have big flavor. Try meaty or the vegetarian. Cool place for lunch. It's best for when you're not real hungry. The tacos are quite small. Because they have a bunch of different ones it makes it easier to sample a few. We of course needed something to drink, so we chose Corona from the beer menu. It's $6 a bottle. That's the biggest complaint about here. Beer is expensive. It helps make the food cheap I guess. We had some of the Vegan Tacos. It's $3.75 for most flavors. They have ones with mushrooms. Good spice. These are topped with corn and grilled onions. Also has plenty of meaty choices. It's not just beef or chicken either. I recently started coming here in a regular basis because it's local. Up until today, had a quality meal, however not today. The Credit Card machine was down, cash only. Happens, no problem. They have plenty of outdoor seating with bright yellow umbrellas. A friendly staff greeted me and immediately provided a suggestion for the carnitas and al pastor tacos. Overrated! If you are used to authentic steak tacos, miss this place. The steak is least favorable. Also, the amount food you get for the prices aren't appropriate. It's minimal food at most. I called back to ask for a refund on the missing corn and Julisa said that it is against policy to give refunds (although they did not pack part of my order). She said the owner is on vacation and she did not know when she would return. Julisa instead offered that I go back and pick up the corn tonight or another day. I told Julisa that I would not be returning because of the above experience. I asked for a refund of the corn, since they erroneously forgot to pack it. Finally ordered carry out from Guac and Tock tonight. I'm not messing around when I say the guac is literally the best I've ever had. I think I know the secret but I'm not telling. We had tacos - pork belly, chicken mole, carnitas, and poblano. They were simple, complimented with the right stuff, and not too much of it. The pork belly had an insanely crispy skin to it - like cracklins. There is nothing to not like about that. They missed one of our tacos on the carry out and I don't like that they use styrofoam. I've meant to try them for a year or so. Finally did. What no-where food. Place was clean, friendly & very efficient. Steak Burrito was mediocre/Americanized, lacking in flavor (perhaps good for infants or Sr. citizens - of which I am one). The enchilada diner was very poor. Small enchiladas with chicken that tasted of being boiled in water no discernible seasoning, shredded and placed therein with a tiny bit of cheese. I ordered it with their mole sauce which has no flavor other than bitter. Even the tortilla wrap was so bland I couldn't tell if it was flour or corn. I added their green sauce & salt - still nothing to taste! The re-fried beans & rice were similar to canned at best. Perhaps it's just the tacos that everyone seems to like, but I didn't have one nor do I intend to go back for a second go around. Highly disappointed in the quality of the food! First off, the "Amazing Corn" was submerged in water, clearly from a can, which is disappointing in itself. Zero flavor and not authentic by any means. Secondly, the quality of meat had such a lack of flavor. I ordered chicken, fish and chorizo, all were over cooked with no seasoning, and they got my order wrong. I also ordered Chips n Guac, only to find a hair in it halfway through! *BARF* Lastly, they couldn't pour a beer to save their life. All foam, no beer.
