    Corona And Some Vegan Tacos
    Steve A.

A pretty cool place here and glad we got off the train and ate. Guac N Tacos is a small casual Mexican cabana. It has a few locations including this one in Western Springs. Has these small tacos but they have big flavor. Try meaty or the vegetarian. Cool place for lunch. It's best for when you're not real hungry. The tacos are quite small. Because they have a bunch of different ones it makes it easier to sample a few. We of course needed something to drink, so we chose Corona from the beer menu. It's $6 a bottle. That's the biggest complaint about here. Beer is expensive. It helps make the food cheap I guess. We had some of the Vegan Tacos. It's $3.75 for most flavors. They have ones with mushrooms. Good spice. These are topped with corn and grilled onions. Also has plenty of meaty choices. It's not just beef or chicken either. There's seafood choices like shrimp, making this a place everyone can get something.

Poblano taco with minimal amount of poblano. Loaded up with corn.

Overpriced margarita. I had the Paloma and it was very nice. Tacos are small and overpriced. Chips & salsa 5.50. Lame. The food is served on plastic trays. With plastic forks you have to ask for. Overpriced yet perfect for the neighborhood where people like to overpay for mediocre food.

Grilled Steak Taco with Guac, cheese, cilantro and red onion...

Pleasant surprise hidden right under my nose. Simple fresh ingredients, delivery or take out and the Guac is amazing.......We conveniently ordered ahead and the order was ready upon arrival. Great food......Convenient pick up.

Chips and salsa. Loved the salsa. Slight kick to it, but my 6 and 7 yr old kept snacking on it.

Chips and salsa were great. I loved the fish tacos. And the kids loved the cheese quesadillas. Will be back.

    Piece of latex .

I've enjoyed the food here until tonight when I found what appears to be a piece of a latex glove in my food, yikes !

Carnitas, pastor and pork belly taco

Exploring downtown Western Springs and Came in for taco Tuesday and was pleasantly surprised! There was a jug of water outside to help with the summer heat. They have plenty of outdoor seating with bright yellow umbrellas. A friendly staff greeted me and immediately provided a suggestion for the carnitas and al pastor tacos. I love when they make recommendations, especially when it's my first time at a place. I added that to my order along with pork belly. All were equally delicious!

    Steak Taco dinner

Overrated! If you are used to authentic steak tacos, miss this place. The steak is least favorable. Also, the amount food you get for the prices aren't appropriate. It's minimal food at most. I ordered my food for here and received a stone plate with a plastic spoon. The margarita is good...in fact really good (and responsible for the extra star). If you're interested in the look vs the food, this place is ideal for you. The customer service was fair, the cashier wasn't warm and fuzzy. She was a bit direct and off-putting. The food server was not friendly at all. There was no interaction or greetings. Rather, she'd deliver food to the table and pick it up without saying anything at all.

    Hard, crusty, flavorless rice

I ordered three tacos, with rice, beans, and corn, to-go, which totaled $25. When I got home the ground beef taco was mushy and flavorless, the rice was hard, and the order was missing the corn. I called back to ask for a refund on the missing corn and Julisa said that it is against policy to give refunds (although they did not pack part of my order). She said the owner is on vacation and she did not know when she would return. Julisa instead offered that I go back and pick up the corn tonight or another day. I told Julisa that I would not be returning because of the above experience. I asked for a refund of the corn, since they erroneously forgot to pack it. I do not recommend this restaurant and will not be returning.

My dad was down for some tacos so we hit up Taco Azteca before we got to gaming. I actually drove by the place, missing the turn to get there due to the strange parking lot situation. After a loop around the block, we pull in to the shared parking lot and headed inside. My dad was looking at the menu on the drive up and was waffling between a taco salad and a burrito. Once I placed my order for a beef burrito, my dad followed up with the same thing. We tried to find a place to sit but the place isn't too conducive to eating in with the few tables they had were either taken or dirty from the prior visitor. The staff was super nice and friendly in trying to get a table cleaned up for us. We ended up snagging one and were promptly served tortilla chips with some of the best guacamole I have ever had. I'm not big on guac as I find it to taste too similar to pumpkin (everyone I tell this looks at me like I am crazy) but this stuff was delicious and had a nice kick to it. My dad found the sauce in one of the bottles to be spicy as hell and passed on using more of it. I found them to be quite yummy but I love me some heat. We nearly devoured half the chips by the time the food came out. They were that good and the food came out that fast. I'm used to Mexican-sized burritos but these might take the cake. They were MASSIVE. I showed everyone I know and their eyes got huge when they saw how big it was. The fries that came with it were those with the little bits of batter on them and I knew they were going to be good. I knew we were in for a good time. How do you even eat something that big? Very slowly and somewhat messy, that's how. I devoured half my tasty fries to free up space on my plate just in case I made a mess. Luckily, this burrito held itself together rather nicely. The burrito was super tasty but I do feel like maybe a chicken or pork version would've been better. I like beef but wasn't in the mood for it when I ate my burrito. That's on me though for not paying attention when ordering and accidentally getting beef. My dad loved his burrito and was able to put the whole thing down since he didn't eat breakfast. I had breakfast so I was only able to put down a little over half. My bottomless pit of a stomach isn't so bottomless now that I am almost 40 (a week shy of 39 during this visit). Overall, Taco Azteca lived up to the hype and was worth every bite. I really wanted to get some of the guac to go. My only warning is that the parking lot is shared and can be tight as well as the seats inside. This place serves better for carry-out if it's busy like it was when we were there.

First things first, I found the burrito was pretty good - barbacoa was 8/10. Everyone else (7 others) thought their food was okay - average of 7/10 across the board. This is what gives me hope. The food is decent and a little more attention to the meal, it would've been great. But where Ino's needs work is in the customer service, ambiance, and price. Honestly, the greeting, ordering, and delivery was just awkward. It wasn't remotely busy, but like a few waters took a long time, they didn't have avocados to make a guac without tomatoes - or at least that's what we were told - and even though the person ringing me up didn't catch that I ordered two fries (which is ok, not a biggie), it was the tone when I asked about them that unnerved me. Like, I don't want free fries or anything, but what's a basket of fries to feed the family of seven that just dropped as much as I just did for a return visit? Again, don't want free stuff, but the attitude meant I wasn't spending another dime on fries. This place has potential. When someone with a smile and an attentive attitude is engaging with customers, when they are stocked properly with avocados at a Mexican restaurant, and when the quality of meals matches the price tag, I'd love to come back. For now, we're grateful for the other places that do 'celiac friendly' well.

Our server was pleasant but seemed to be overwhelmed. We tried the following: DIABLO SHRIMP $16- 4 small pieces of shrimp with chopped pineapples. It was ok. CARNE ASADA TACOS $19- the steak was cooked well but it was bland. The side of cilantro rice ($3) was delicious. BAJA FISH TACO $22- the fish was cooked well but the it was bland as well. SIDE OF MISO MUSHROOMS $8- delicious Overall, the entrees that I've tried were just ok. For how much they charge for their dishes, they were not worth it. The sides of cilantro rice and miso mushrooms were the only dishes that were memorable. The place was neat, the service was nice, parking can be challenging because it is located in downtown Hinsdale, and the food was very average. I'll probably come back to try other dishes or just have drinks at the bar. It will not be on my top choices to eat if I crave for Mexican food though.
