Our family stopped off at Power Plant Coffee before going kayaking! There was plenty of parking when we came on a Monday afternoon at 1:00. This space is bright, airy, modern and full of green plants! I love the clean space and the minimalist furnishings. You order at the counter and come back to get your food/beverages. We ordered a turkey breakfast burrito (which you grab from the refrigerator and they heat up at the counter), a breakfast sandwich, a lox sandwich and a mushroom sandwich. I tried a bit of everything (except the lox sandwich) and all the sandwiches were fresh, with soft bread/tortilla. We also tried the iced vanilla latte, which was also solid! Service was friendly and it took about 10 minutes to get our order.
love the vibe of this place! Been here a few times when it was a smaller location. The expanded space is so great! The line was long and waited 30 minutes for a drink. Drinks weren't labeled with names so it was confusing and there wasn't anywhere to wait (in view). Got a gluten free muffin and it was delicious. My strawberry matcha was really sweet but was a good treat.
Divina gets my poo poo service award. I received attitude with my coffee this morning after having paid $17 with tip to Divina, the friendly looking but NOT counter person. My wife informed me that she received some also. She straight up pissed me off when she gleefully pointed to where the lids were knowing the challenge it presented after having asked for "no room" for sugar or cream. Let's put the lids where customers can not play a carnival game by trying to move yo the brim hot coffee 25' to where the life's are. If for no other reason other than so people felony burn themselves with this oddity. We love the store but today, your counter person. Threw ice on our 8th trip in. Everyone else we've encountered has treated us kindly. Divina did not. Had to take a star.

They sell plants and other cute stuff. Now they also have a wine area and I'll come back to have some wine. The service was Al's great. I really recommend visiting this place!
Cute coffee shop. I was in town for my birthday weekend with my best friends. We were in need of some lattes and pastries. I'm so glad we came across this place. That particular day we came, it was like an event so there was a dj. He was spinning those records with some great music selection. The employees were super friendly too. I also purchased some merch. They had independent local artists that sold hoodies and what not. I liked this place so much, I came the next day as well.
As Matcha as Possible FYI they are currently closed due to a fire, but expect to re-open soon. Here's the latest update from their website: "UPDATE 6/7/25: The Power Plant is still closed. One month in, and we are still working with insurance companies to get started on the cleanup and repairs. Hoping we can be open in early July! Thank you for all your support!" Now on to my better late than never review: Charming little café and plant store located right off Hwy 1 in Moss Landing that's been in operation since 2020. The Good: *They sell Gizdich Farm pies! *Sandwiches, toasts, and many grab-and-go items, like breakfast burritos, as well as a full compliment of coffees and teas. *As mentioned above, you can bring a new friend home with you from their plant store. *They're also a bookstore and a apothecary *Friendly service *My matcha latte was delicious and well-crafted *Outdoor area to enjoy your drinks and food *Huge parking lot The Meh: *Outdoor area was kinda noisy due to the proximity of the highway The Ugly: *Trying to get back on the freeway can be a bit challenging, depending on the traffuck. *See the above fire that closed this place--temporarily! Conclusion: Great place to stop and get caffeinated while cruising the PCH.

great breakfast sandwiches and early morning coffee for road trips or weekenders! we stopped here on the way to monterey. the food is well made and they list all included allergens, which is very considerate. the interior of the coffee shot is very cute and has a lot of seating available. it's styled with a jungle of plants and fun merchandise.

As you travel along Hwy 1 and are approaching Moss Landing from the South be sure to pull in and check out this newly renovated cafe which has arisen from the ashes after having suffered a slow burning fire. Along with the stigma of the now famous lithium storage battery fires last year. Now the focus is more on being a high end cafe/restaurant serving wine and beer. As opposed to a coffee and to go food gift shop. There is a very cool vibe here with friendly staff such as Olivia who took my order and Jess who made my crostini with some of the creamiest goat cheese I was ever blessed to taste. Incredible, more like a swirly dessert. And the crunch of the crustini was perfection, along with the roasted walnuts. Truly a taste sensation. I also enjoyed a nicely brewed chai latte with the loveliest hint of sweetness. I enjoyed my food and beverage while chilling under the projected scenes of surfing and tropical beaches in amongst all the beautiful plants. You feel like you are outdoors and the colors and art come together to create a very soothing atmosphere. I was very relaxed and could sense a very real presence of peace. Let's be honest, you just wanna hang out there; especially on a rainy day. I'm looking forward to trying some of their specials and sampling the small bites when I am longing for a culinary experience of the highest quality. The prices are typical for the area as my bill came to $30.00 including the tax and tip. I tried to capture the essence of the place in my photos, but you need to come and experience it for yourselves. What are you waiting for?

Free WiFi and definitely welcomes those who come to do homework or papers on their laptops. It was a lil busy when I got there but they're very good about making drinks/food quickly.
This coffee shop has a great aesthetic and lots of beautiful plants! However, the drinks and food are overpriced and underwhelming. I ordered a strawberry matcha for $7.50 and it was watered down and chalky. Definitely not high quality or worth the expensive price point. The cashier was also pretty unfriendly to me. This used to be one of my favorite places to come visit, but I don't think I will be back as of now unfortunately.
Awesome stop on the way to Monterey. Cute cafe with plenty of indoor seating and a really nice outdoor patio. Lots of cute plants and tchotchkes to peruse and buy as well. Waited about 15 minutes in line and 10-15min to get the hot food. We got the roasted mushroom sando, salted vanilla cold brew, and an olallieberry crimp. The salted vanilla cold brew was refreshing and delicious. It was my first time learning what olalliebeery is (a type of blackberry) and eating a "crimp": essentially a linzer cookie in muffin form. The crimp was perfectly baked, with nicely browned edges and fluffy interior; the dollop of olalliberry jam added both a bit of sweetness and tartness. The mushroom sando was so good, and I would definitely order it again. Everything from the bun (fluffy, buttery, well-baked) to the heaping pile of roasted, saucy mushrooms (so savory and generous), down to the luscious scrambled egg at the bottom was an A+ experience. Super cute interior with plants, apparel and goodies for sale. Expect slow service, took 30min on a Sunday morning. They do have togo items in fridge. - Avocado toast : the avocado was a little unripe so overall had no flavor. Pickled onions were a nice touch. It is a great place to get work or schoolwork done. The space is comfortable, calm, and easy to focus in. The coffee is good and the staff is friendly. There are only two power outlets, so come with a charged device or bring a wireless charger. Lunch hours are usually the busiest, especially on Fridays, so earlier hours are better if you want it quieter. read more

The cutest coffee shop with adjoining plant store right on Hwy 1 that you HAVE to stop at! Not only does the Power Plant serve coffee and tea, but they also have quick bites for you to enjoy. The coffee shop connects to the most zen plant store next door with additional seating nestled amongst what seems like endless pots of beautiful, healthy plants. We came here after lunch so we did not order any food, but wanted a quick afternoon pick-me-up. I went for the seasonal banana latte while my husband got the blueberry mint iced tea. Both drinks were reasonably priced for the location and what I am used to paying for drinks nowadays. Service was fast and our drinks were ready in less than 10 minutes. The blueberry iced tea was super minty and refreshing, while my banana latte was very banana-y while retaining the coffee flavor. I thoroughly enjoyed my latte. We spent some time browsing the plant store and also took note of the expansive outdoor seating (so dogs are welcome outside). While we did not purchase anything from the store itself, we really liked the vibe of The Power Plant and would love to return the next time we are in the area. read more

The atmosphere of this place was so relaxing with all the plants in their store. It was fun to peruse the local, eco-conscious products. My fiancé and I ordered the mocha latte, matcha latte, lox sandwich, caprese salad, and salted chocolate chip cookie. Our drinks were great paired with the cookie. The lox sandwich was stuffed with salmon which was filling. Though on the pricier side, I would still recommend this place if you're in town. There are some indoor and outdoor seating to enjoy the Moss Landing weather. * It is rather difficult to get into the parking lot depending on which way you're coming from. read more

I love coming to the power plant for coffee and all of my plant needs. They have great pastries and amazing coffee. It is so nice to roam around the plant side of the store. There are so many neat things that you will find here. This is a must visit if you are in Moss Landing. They have a wonderful seating area that is amazing for getting work done. There is plenty of outdoor seating as well but it might be too chilly in the morning. Their breakfast sandwich is splendid and definitely recommend getting that. read more

This was the cutest spot imaginable! Eye candy galore and deliciousness in the cafe as well. To drink we tried a lavender latte and cold brew. The cold brew was just average and the ladies in the cafe were not very friendly, but lavender latte was bomb! Yummm. Would recommend. The banana bread was good according to my son, and the warmed cinnamon roll was super tasty. Delicious caramel corn. I had the cucumber quinoa salad and it was everything! Loved it. Perfection! We had to take home souvenirs from the boutique area! They had a toy section so my boys picked a stuffed animal seal, and bat and ball. I left with a cute tote from Morocco. Elise was so cute and super helpful! She enhanced our great experience in the shop. Thank you, Elise!! So jealous of your green thumb! Stunning plants, stellar experience. read more

Atmosphere is great love how peaceful it is, great little get away~ But why three stars? Matcha is 7.50... girl for milk lightly flavored of matcha is insane. It's just milk with ice and a little bit of matcha. Maybe if it was like 2-3$ I could justify it. Maybe get something else. read more

Finally got to try this place out for my first time recently. I stopped by to get some work done and a hot chocolate. Staff were very nice, helpful, and patient. I just ordered a hot chocolate which was pretty good. I loved the inside, there is plenty of seating to get work done or to just enjoy your food/ drinks. There is also outdoor seating available. It is also a plant shop which makes the experience more enjoyable. I really liked being surrounded by plants while I worked! There is plenty of parking too. Definitely recommend this place! read more
The Power Plant is an unexpected oasis right off of Highway 1 -- it's a hip coffee shop with a plethora of plants and immaculate vibes; great for working or catching up with friends. Would give this place 3.5/5 stars due to slow service (waited at least 20 minutes in line on a Sunday morning) and drink quality, but rounding up to 4 stars. The chai latte I ordered was on the weaker side and was overpowered by milk; would not order again. NOTE: The parking lot is VERY difficult to enter and exit. This isn't exactly a cafe that you can spontaneously go to or casually stumble across; it's fast and furious while crossing high-speed traffic. If you're whizzing down Highway 1, you need to make a split-second executive decision to quickly pull into the parking lot upon seeing the "Power Plant" sign in the distance, or you'll miss it in a blink of an eye, with no hope of turning around. Make plans in advance to come here! read more

Definitely more pricier for drinks and food (smaller portions). But delicious and beautiful place. Everyone is nice and friendly. Beautiful pit stop or place to come and work. Wi-fi is great. Love it here. This would be a great place to stop off HWY 1. Like if you're headed to Monterey or Big Sur from the Bay, add this to places to stop. read more
If you are looking for a place to study, take in art, take in the greenery, this place has it all. It was the first time spotting this local coffee shop that serves multiple purposes. Located in front of the Power Plant, it is the middle between Santa Cruz and Monterey. Coffee, pastries and food items address every dietary need possible. I brought the whole family and each had something that caught their eye. I had a traditional drip coffee but the persimon toast was spectacular. A great combination of savory and sweetness in a lightly toasted bread. This will be a mandatory stop every time we visit the Central Coast. There is a store attached selling local products with an abundance of plants. Great, welcoming staff ready to assist as needed. read more

They use a local coffee roaster by the name of Acme Coffee in Seaside, CA. If the Power Plant doesn't offer online, you can certainly find it from the roaster.
