What made it more frustrating was that the issue was known but not addressed or corrected. We were really hoping for a better experience, especially for such a special occasion. First time in this Bakery and they've got a lot going on in here. First they have a big variety of pan dulce. We tried a few, their raspberry Crumble muffin was large, moist and flavorful. In fact all their pan dulce is on the large size. Some of the pan dulce are wrapped in plastic, don't know why. Their churros are very good. It was busy today on new year's eve, everyone was buying huge piles of pan dulce. They also sell ice cream, only one had a lable which was Tamarindo. Another looked like lime, Another dark red maybe raspberry. I am pretty sure one was mango. Next to the ice cream is a Raspado station, like shave ice. They also make Magonadas. I have to come back in the summer to try all of these. They also have gelintinas, flan regular, caramel flan and chocoflan, cheeses and fried potato chips on a stick. Then there's deli/food section. They had lots of taquitos fried up ready to go. They have tamales we'll come back to try those It was so hot today we had to have some Raspados at Sweet Dreams Delight bakery in Seaside. Freshly made while you wait, so good on a hot day. Flavors to choose from: pineapple, cherry, blue raspberry, lime and mango. We love our Panadería in town! I love coming here to get nice warm bread. They have so many to choose from the service is good, The owner is always there helping and welcoming people. in the mornings I'll get a nice natural juice. they have a couple to choose from. I usually always order the "Vampiro" which is Beet, Orange, Carrot juice. They also have have food to go or to eat outside their patio. I always do a torta de quesillo to go. Great little hole in the wall bakery that serves the best fresh green drink, sandwiches, and tamales with incredibly good masa. Yum! They also have some of the best pastries. Love this place. Just walking in at 3 in the afternoon and they have racks of fresh warm bread. The torta bread is out of this world along with the pan dulce. It stays fresh too! We wound up going a bit nuts and filled a tray with baked goods. Last time we also tried their tacos and burritos. They could perhaps use some more salsa, but still the taste was very good and they were fresh. Nice job with the fresh orchata too. So much to go back for and try. The service was excellent. UPDATE 2/7/23 my spouse took our kids to get pan dulce. The completely overcharged him and most of it was dry, over baked, flavorless and really upsetting. We were charged $1.70 per item. I can only attest to their pan dulce. It is super fresh, very reasonably priced and delicious. Way better than Santa Fe which was the only decent place I had found locally until now. I got a Vegan Cinnamon Bun; it was super dry and not good at all. She said her cookie was ok. I was kind of blown away at there prices, $4 for a one super small Cinnamon bun ok... The prices here are insane. I got it's a local none chain small biz. But man just saying Vegan ect doesn't allow you charge up the butt. It's a nice area with rich people; I get it. Recently changed owners. My mom and I used to come all the time and got baked goods (decently sized) for 50c each. We came in this morning after the ownership changed and were pleasantly surprised that the food seemed the same. The food didn't have labeled pricing as per usual and we expected the pricing might be different but didn't think it would have changed that much. We got 3 cookies and 1 chicken quesadilla. The lady at the register told us a price in Spanish even though I'm pretty sure she could speak English and she knew we most likely didn't know Spanish (we're Chinese and were speaking Chinese). The male worker next to her translated and said "$17" to us English. SEVENTEEN DOLLARS for 3 cookies and 1 quesadilla??? Something didn't seem right to me and as we walked out, my mom and I did the math. We went back in and asked another worker how much the quesadilla was. She said $8. So that means $3 for a cookie??? No way. We went back to the man at the front and asked him how much a cookie is. He said ONE DOLLAR. The Spanish speaking lady tried to talk to us in Spanish but my mom was pretty pissed by then and didn't let her finish. We asked for our $6 back. Be careful to check your math when you come here or better yet, just go to Santa Fe market next door where they have labeled consistent pricing ($0.69 per baked good at Santa Fe) and friendly customer service. I got white cake Cake 2: order a Louis Vuitton style cake. I got a LV printed paper around a cake, seams were coming undone. Paper was peeling. I had some one on Facebook call me stupid and tell me that I didn't want to pay for a good cake. I never met with this individual, nor did I discuss what my budget was, because I didn't have one. The price of the cake was not an issue. I was judge on my skin color and they thought that I would settle for paper printed decals, rather than fondant. There is a great selection of baked goods, and the food is pretty good. My rating is due to inconsistent pricing. I live in the neighborhood, and love chicken flautas. I picked up two flautas on Saturday, as well as a soda, a donut, and a bag of baked potato chips. Everything was delicious, but here's the kicker: on Saturday I was charged $2 each for the flautas, stopped back through on my walk on Sunday, purchased a carrot cake muffin, and two more flautas. They raised the price of the flautas on me to $2.50 in less than 24 hours?!? When I questioned it they said sorry, water and stuff is expensive. Did your water bill go up in the last 24 hours?! So confused. I paid for my food and left. Not saying I'll never go back, mainly due the the proximity to my house, but I will certainly be supporting Lupitas more frequently. They put tomato sauce and undercooked meat on the Tlayuda. First of all, tomato sauce does not belong on it because it is not a pizza and having undercooked pork meat is very dangerous. Ordered 2 dozen tamales for Christmas Eve get-together. 12 chicken and 12 cheese. I wanted to express my disappointment in the cheese tamales. I'm not sure if they were made by their establishment or they ordered them from somewhere else. Being that the woman was hesitant about taking the order for the cheese, it should have been a warning to me. Although I was pleased with the chicken tamales, the cheese tamales were not "cheese" tamales. They were not wrapped in a corn husk that tamales are typically wrapped in. It was some dark green, wet wrapping, which in turn kept the masa too wet. In addition to the small amount of cheese, there were also slices of red potatoes and green beans! That is not what I ordered! And overpriced! $60 for 24 tamales?! Not pleased at all. I will likely order some place else next time.
