First off, don't sit at the bar. There is no bartender working. You will need to wait for the servers to take care of the guests sitting at the tables first. Tucked in a nice spot right off the IOP Connector, it serves up no frills, quick favorites for hungry beachgoers and working crowd alike. Choices are abundant--various tacos, enchiladas and burritos, alone or in combinations. On our last visit, I had the Seafood Chimichangas, which satisfied, though the scallops were minuscule. My wife enjoyed a no-frills chicken enchilada plate and my son dug into the Cheese Steak Burrito. All were solid. Our server was quick and attentive. The food was good but nothing spectacular. I had a taco salad which tasted fine but there really wasn't very much in the shell. My husband had the fajitas which had plenty of fillings options but was average. The service was slow. when we got there a waiter stopped by and took our drink order but he said he wasn't our waiter so another person would be by to take our food order. It took about 10 minutes before anyone came to take our order. I would have understood if they were busy but most of the tables were empty. My drink went empty a couple of times and it took awhile to get anyone to refill. The bottom line is there are very good Mexican restaurants in the area so there is no reason to come to mediocre one. read more

Went here about 3:00 on a Wednesday. We were the only people there and a party of 4. It took a while to get a table but no big deal. They had good beers on tap and the chips and salsa were good. Salsa had a little kick. We shared the chicken fajitas with refried beans. Nothing special but what you would expect from this type of Mexican fare. Nothing real spicy or flavorful, but will fill the void. The others with us had enchiladas and tacos and no one had any issues with their food. Only complaint was that the menu says fajitas come with sour cream and ours was missing. Worth a try. Prices were reasonable and the beer was cold! read more

Guadalajara falls into the category of your La Haciendas and Los Arcos. Nothing special but they're quick, cheap, and get the job done. This place fires on all cylinders when it comes to that. I was always a fan of the Los Arcos in this location because it seemed a cut above the rest. I've been to Guadalajara a couple times since it changed over and have been happy with my meal and service. My go-to at these places is some queso dip and beef tacos. Every once in a while I'll stray to a queso fundido or maybe fajitas, but I never seem to go wrong with my simple tacos. I haven't tried the street tacos yet in fear of disappointment but maybe I'll give them a go next time around. The service is lightning fast so if you're in a rush and craving some queso, Guadalajara will do you right. read more

The service was horrible and our server barely spoke any English! She had to bring every item to us individually because there was no serving tray! The waitress didn't bother to tell us that I needed to pay for a whole Iced Tea when I only asked for a few drops of it and 90 percent of it to be water. When I spoke to the manager she said that the restaurant couldn't afford to give me a free beverage of worth $2.50 and that all she could do was charge me for a children's size for .99 cents. The manager then proceeded to show me the menu and didn't seem to care very much about how dissatisfied I was, she just took the waitresses side and cared more about being "right"! She never apologized for anything! You would think neither one of them had ever gone out to dinner before. Everybody else knows that you never let a guest leave unhappy! The only reason I gave it one star is because I didn't have the option of giving it NONE! I'm convinced the only reason the rating is decent for this restaurant is because the food is good, and the prices are dirt cheap. The food here has been good, reasonably priced along with quick and friendly service. But something has changed over the past few months and not for the good. The taco chicken salad has been a favorite, but the past few times it has been awful. We were greeted by a sweet senora, who is pretty, friendly, and doubled as our server. The place has basically the same decor with a staff that is knowledgeable, friendly and well trained. I tried this spot out a couple of weeks ago with my daughter & I'm sorry it just didn't do it for me. As you walk in, it's the same generic decor & smell that's found in most American, Mexican restaurants. The food was tasteless, really lacked flavour & originality. The menu is quite large and they do offer some different options on there that I haven't seen before. They have a decent bar area where people were sitting & eating & booths where we sat. The service was ok but I have to day once again the prices for a Mexican restaurant were very high. I really wish I could find better Mexican restaurants as I know the food when done properly is awesome. I wonder if this place and other Mexican establishments I've been to here in the Charleston area are chains. They are all so blasé I will not return here. read more
