Our favorite place to go any night of the week! The patio is so much fun and our kids love going. The margs are on point! We always get cheese dip with our chips and salsa. I always get a couple of cheese quesadillas bc they are very small and a side of rice and beans. My husband ordered the pork nachos and they were fantastic. They have the best pork .... That's the favorite meat for my husband. My son always gets a soft shell chicken taco and he loves it so much! It's his favorite meal. The servers are so kind, they are great with our kids(take quarters for the vending machines for them) the restaurant is beautiful and very clean. Cute little Mexican restaurant by sullivans island. The service was great and our server was very friendly! The chips and salsa that came out was super fresh and flavorful! I loved the spiciness of the salsa. I ordered the Al pastor tacos with rice and beans. The tacos were really good. The meat was tender. I wish it had some pineapple chunks in it though. My wife and I went there last Saturday night around 6:30. When we got there and we were seated very quickly within 5 to 10 minutes were standing in line having drinks because we're waiting for tables. I ordered a beer. My wife had some kind of margarita. Both were fine. I ordered the tamale platter Verde. She got some type of burrito service was fairly quick and friendly when mine came out. It looked great, but it was not hot. I cleaned my plate anyway my wife's burrito was very good except the bottom was burnt when we were done my wife told the waitress and showed her that she couldn't eat the bottom half of the burrito and she went to the manager. They sweet Comp dinner except for the cocktails, which was very good because my dinner didn't need to be comped then I felt sorry for the waitress because she said they stopped accepting new people because they had a plumbing problem which I think meant the bathrooms. Probably the best night for her is Saturday night and she lost half a shift income. I felt appropriate to give her a good tip. Santee is different than the usual Mexican restaurant. The atmosphere is nice and the menu is different than your cookie cutter, Mexican restaurant we've been there a number of times before and I'm sure we'll go back again. read more

Went on a suggestion from a friend. I love good Mexican food. The atmosphere was cool. Nicely decorated with seating inside or out. Sit at a table or a bar stool inside or outside. It doesn't look big from the outside but inside it was fairly large. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very attentive. The chips and salsa were just ok. Salsa was good but the chips were not my style. I like a thin chip, these are thick. They almost felt stale. I could be wrong, it may just be theor style. The house lime margaritas were excellent. Guacamole appetizer was good. I ordered the enchilada dinner. 2 chicken 1 pork. Pork was dry, 1 chicken was dry, the other was perfect. I must have gotten 1 fresh and 1 frozen. I'd probably go back for drinks but not sure about food. There are too many other very good Mexican restaurants around. read more

It's a little weird when the flashing happy hour sign says Mondays- $3.00 Tacos, but the bartender tells me "thats on Thursdays!" Seems they decided to change the rules but didn't change the sign ! I hope I caught them on an off night because this is usually one of my favorite spots for a quick, satisfying meal. I ordered the taco dinner, but it just didn't hit the mark this time. The beans were really watery and lacked flavor, and the rice was similarly disappointing--overly wet and bland. The chips were far greasier than usual, and the tacos themselves were just ok... Service was a bit hectic as well. Our server was juggling five tables at once and did their best, but 3/5 tables ended up getting up and paying at the front because our server abandoned us unfortunately. What brought me in this time was the festive Christmas decorations--they did not disappoint! Despite the underwhelming food and service tonight, Santis still had a great vibe. read more

Went to Santi's while visiting Charleston. A Mexican restaurant, the food was very good. With an extensive menu, everyone can find something they will enjoy eating. The negative was the service; I must have had five different people doing some level of service, and that was at the bar. The bar seating is a little awkward, as there are machines that line the bar and it's difficult for the bartenders. Plus, as customers, your views are obstructed. My 60-year-old wife was yelled at by an employee. (turned out to be the owner!!) for mistakenly walking through an open door that turned out to be an employee entrance but didn't tell her the correct way to go after she was yelled at. Service was prompt, friendly and very efficient. Definitely a good value. It was solid, Mexican food. My wife, daughter, and I went there for dinner one evening. It was bustling and busy, but we were promptly given a table. A server came to the table with chips and salsa and quickly asked for our drinks. Throughout the evening, the service was attentive and efficient. This food was served promptly. It's good, standard Mexican fair. It was fresh and tasty. The servings were relatively generous, and we all took home leftovers. Good selection of beer, mixed drinks, and margaritas. They do go for more of a mass quantity as my mango margarita was premixed. I love Santi's! It's hard to find good Mexican food here (iykyk) and this place literally never disappoints me. I almost always go for the steak burrito. It's big and very filling. The team is so great, they let me practice my Spanish with them and are VERY patient when doing it. One of the best things on the menu is FREE lol ... I love their salsa that comes with their chips and salsa. It's got the volley ball nets next door and is super close to the beach so it's the perfect stop in for food on your way home from the beach. read more

Went to Santi's last night and it was terrible. Both orders were incorrect which we noted when the food arrived. Rather than correct the orders, wait-person called manager (owner?). Manager arrived clearly perturbed and demanded "what do you want" only to then claimed he couldn't understand when we repeated that both orders were incorrect. Made no offer to redo the orders or adjust the check, he just walked away. No customer service whatsoever! read more

I would say, good not great. The chips were thick and crunchy and the salsa was fresh and tasty, some of the better chips I've gotten. The entree portions were very big but a bit lacking in flavor. We stopped her after a trip to Myrtle Beach. The restaurant is very cute with interesting decor. The sever was very attentive and friendly. He even sat down and took our order. My husband enjoyed his quesadillas and thought the chicken was well seasoned. I thought the chicken in my tacos was bland and a bit dry. I also thought my beans were watery, and the rice was unseasoned. My daughter thought her tacos were just okay. While the place is very cute, we probably won't visit again. Uber eats review: Okay food- not outstanding by any means but not bad and good size portion. I got the mole chicken and it was a TON of chicken. Unfortunately the rice and beans were quite lacking and the mole spilled out of the container so my bag was pretty soaked. This restaurant was a major let down. It's location is great, just off the bridge as you leave Sullivan's, the parking is great but the food is just awful. Greasy greasy greasy. It was so bad I could not nor would not eat it. I asked it to be removed from the bill. The chips & salsa were fine but that was about it. It had quite a few customers in here, a bar which I can see been very busy. So my take is, get pretty wasted and you will eat anything. The dishes need to be stepped up several notches. Santi's is an unassuming (actually, rather shabby) Mexican restaurant located on Ben Sawyer Blvd. With plenty of parking, it's a decent, low key choice if you are in the neighborhood and craving Mexican cuisine. Our evening started well ... we were quickly seated and before the menus arrived ... served a hefty bowl of salsa and chips that did not disappoint. The salsa was clearly house made ... well seasoned and very, very chunky ... just the way I love it ... and the 'naked' chips while, perhaps, would not get high marks from you, the reader, I appreciated that they arrived warm and crunchy sans salt and grease. Joe had no problems with his beer ... all 32 oz. of it; however, my Margarita was disappointing in that it was way too sweet and tasted pre-made. Joe's Grande Beef Burrito ($10.50) was plump, yet underwhelming in flavor, and served with the usual suspects - a small portion of refried beans, lettuce, tomato and sour cream. Though not listed on the menu, his dish also included a small side of rice that he did not care for as it was clumpy and overlooked. My entree was disappointing and sorely overpriced at $11.00 - Mamma's Specialty - a chicken soup served just a tad hotter than room temperature with 2 beef taquitos, lettuce, tomato, a few slices of avocado, (not enough) chihuahua cheese, sour cream, a side of onions with cilantro and a side of that overlooked, dry rice. Let's just say the portion of onions was larger than the amount of chicken in the bowl. While Santi's is acceptable, it's time to step up the quality as there's a 'new kid on the block' just over the Ben Sawyer bridge on Sullivan's Island. read more

I hadn't been to this location until recently and unfortunately I was just as impressed with it as the downtown location. Maybe I've been spoiled by real-deal Mexican food and amazing tacos, but I'd rather find myself at any of the other generic Mexican (i.e. Los Arcos, La Hacienda, etc...) places so I don't think that's the case. I came in starving at happy hour ready to chow down. The chips are fresh and house made, but there was some sort of funky taste going on with the salsa... tough to pinpoint what it was though. I wanted to try one of their entree's so I went with the Queso Fundido. I've ordered this dish at plenty of places around town and always enjoyed it so I figured it would be a safe bet. There were a couple of differences though. Normally, it's been chorizo over a grilled chicken breast and smothered in queso cheese. At Santi's, it's only crumbled chroizo and the cheese is more of a melted shredded cheese. Right as the dish comes out, the cheese begins to harden creating an oily mess of hardened cheese covering little bits of chorizo... not very appetizing. We could choc all that up to me just ordering the wrong dish, but honestly the whole experience was underwhelming. The service started out fine, but then went into that dreaded "never see the server again" at the end of the meal. I know it's the kind of place that you bring your check up to the front and pay, but I couldn't even get the check. Finally I flagged our server down and asked if we could get the check. He immediately pulled it out of his apron and handed it over. If it was ready sitting in your apron, why not drop it off so we could get going? read more

I throughly enjoyed myself on this visit. I was a party of three. We noticed they had Negra Modelo on tap. ( Hard to find on tap) so we asked for the largest glass. Thinking it would be a 20 oz glass... they came out with a 36 oz mug! Equivalent to a crowler, we managed to get it finished. The meals were all very good. No one left hungry or dissatisfied. I like this place. It's in a good area. It's a small place which is nice because it's comfortable. The food is authentic, not like the other Mexican restaurants around town. It's a little bit more expensive than other restaurants but well worth it. I especially love going around Christmas time because they have the Christmas tree hung upside down in the middle of the restaurant. Service is great and servers are very friendly. Wednesdays in San Antonio were always Mexican food day/night growing up. So we like to venture out to this spot frequently and Latinx week was a perfect excuse. While not quite to the level of south Texas TEX--Mex it evokes plently of memories! The outside patio upgrade at the Ben Sawyer location is a great addition and dog friendly. Service is always eager & prompt- if brusque - (not much chit chat with the wait staff here) Margaritas at happy hour are a pretty good deal too. Our chips were a bit overtoasted this time, but the Picante was tasty and not too spicy. Chicken flautas are a go-to, and a light dinner with a tostada con avocado/guac paired with a single cheese enchilda and verde sauce is not too filling and will at least remind you of South Texas! The food is consistent and what you'd expect from a neighborhood Mexican restaurant (though the prices are a little higher than Senor Tequila or La Hacienda's).
