    Good portions for lunch
    Wanda G.

Service was amazing. Place was busy at lunch...eight tables and only one waiter. He was amazing literally running to make sure everyone received excellent service. Not once did we feel neglected. Restaurant was clean and bright. Chips were hot and the salsa had good flavor. Proportions were good on lunch menu. I ordered Tacochanga lunch with chicken. Stuffed with lots of shredded chicken. Tasted fresh. Not real spicy. They have plenty of sauces available if you like more spice to your food.

Went here with a girlfriend for drinks and food. We ordered tacos, queso, and had a few drinks. The chips were actually really good, and probably the highlight for us. The drinks were on the sweeter side, which just wasn't really our preference. The tacos were okay, the queso was fine, and overall everything was just... okay. Nothing bad, but nothing that really stood out either. Service was fine as well--they came by when we needed them, but nothing over the top or pushy. An average experience overall.

I have to say I am not a fan of mexican food , but my wife is. Since I love her , I do try to make her happy and go when she wants. I had visited a restaurant close earlier in the week and thought she might like this location. I have to say the food I got was excellent and my wife was somewhat impressed with her tamale. She said it was a little is mushy butt tasted good. I have to say my meal was on point with flavor and fillingness. It's one of those places.I would agree to go back to every so often.Which is more than most of the ones that we have been to. Our service was excellent in the location was wonderful.

I stopped in for a lunch at my favorite Mexican place in Summerville again. Since it's Sunday and there's no hard liquor today I tried their white sangria. Eliu always makes my drinks and this one was really good. Also tried the garlic shrimp and it was a great choice. I have never had a bad meal here yet.

Glad to have this quick delicious option in downtown Summerville. Food was all delicious and fresh and the service was excellent. Generous portions and everything was well flavored. They do have a limited food menu but lots of taco options and a full bar. This would be a great place to watch a soccer game.

I was so excited to try this place as I have previously passed by here numerous times, unfortunately I was so disappointed I am not sure if it was just an off night or what but I could not even eat the food I ordered. I ordered chicken and beef tacos, queso, beans and rice. The tacos were the tiniest tacos I have seen, they had to be from the kiddie menu. They were super bland aside from the cilantro and onions. The Chicken was overdone and hard. The rice was very salty as well as the beans. I am not sure how anyone can mess up queso but it had the consistency of water. Having to toss everything, I basically just paid $36.00 for chips and I had to add salt to those. I must add upon entry the young lady that assisted me was very friendly and nice.

Pork rib plate. It was very good. Rice and beans were okay as well.

Nice little Mexican Restaurant in downtown Summerville. Seemed very authentic. Clean inside and very good waitress that served us. As mentioned authentic limited menu. I got the pork rib plate and it was delicious. Chips were very good but only one type of salsa. No spicy option for salsa. There was no hot sauce on the table as well nor was offered any. They didn't have a drink menu either so I just had water. Nice little place to eat Mexican just a tad bit pricey but my dish was very tasty.

Cute atmosphere, great service!!! We had Quesabirra was awesome!!

This little place is in a great walkable location. Great wait staff, awesome food! We got the Quesoburria- tender beef roast with cheese, onions and cilantro with a delicious dipping sauce.

I think they've created a monster because I'm already addicted. In fact, I'll be back this weekend when my next guests come to visit! We enjoyed drinks, split a salad (pictured is the half portion since we shared it), and shared the salmon. Everything was absolutely delicious. The outdoor patio is spacious, relaxing, and beautiful.....such a great atmosphere. We sat at the bar and had the pleasure of meeting Steve. He was amazing! He was so charismatic, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. They are lucky to have him. I've already told my family I want La Chev gift cards for Christmas. I almost didn't want to leave a review because I selfishly wanted to keep this place to myself, but they deserve all the recognition. Hands down, this is officially my favorite restaurant in Summerville!

The shrimp had a very strong, fishy smell that was honestly off-putting, and the flavor matched. It almost seemed like the addition of wine was an attempt to mask the issue rather than enhance the dish. The grits were also disappointing--lumpy and lacking the smooth, creamy texture you'd expect. That said, not everything missed the mark. My coworkers ordered the chicken salad, chicken wrap with sweet potato fries , blackened chicken pasta, and bruschetta, and all of those dishes were absolutely delicious and well prepared. They definitely helped redeem the overall experience and show the kitchen is still capable of putting out great food. Adri was our server, and she was an absolute delight--a total gem. She never missed a beat and was completely on top of everything. I also appreciated the convenience of the location. I parked across the street in the garage, which was well lit, safe, and very close. There's plenty to see and do in the surrounding area, which adds to the appeal. I'm hoping this was just an off day, because Montreux has been a favorite in the past. I'd love to see the shrimp and grits return to the quality they were once known for. This time we climbed to the second floor to find a table at what I would describe as the most inviting bar in the South due to the eclectic decor and the appearance of the bar itself with dozens of upside down bottles hanging from the ceiling that at first I thought they were there just to decorate the place but nooo! they actually poured the specialty bourbon we ordered which BTW was very good and was only 90 proof which was a very nice match to my Yingling, we spent about two hours there and not because the service was slow but because we were having a good time, at times was a little loud but my out of town friends truly enjoyed the kind of place, they said that next time they come to town they would like to come back to the very same table. The conversation and good times is what kept me from taking a picture of the dishes I ordered the Cajun Pasta, was absolutely delicious and will order again the next time I go back, wife ordered the Pecan pork chops and said it was made with her cravings in mind I won't be waiting for out of towners to come in order to go back, this has become my most trusted and preferred Southern restaurant in Chucktown/Summerville area, no questions and way better than any distant second best that we have been, make it 8 stars! I would change the name because the name suggests they have oysters only and it turns out there is more, not a whole lot but enough for a non oysterholic to come in and have something to eat while you chug an ale or one of the shots with a slimy thing in it I got to try a shot of something that tasted like bloody Mary's mix with an oyster inside, I felt the slimy thing going down the hatch and later ordered a dozen or so oysters Parmesan, cooked taste a little like scallops, not bad and I could go back and try something else The calamari was ok, not as great as I can make them if I had a fryer with a thermostat, the batter was a little too thick and I tend to like them with a see through batter not a filler, it was crunchy ok but maybe a little overcooked and not a lot of people know that calamari should be flash fried for about a minute and if you go beyond that is like the Michelin man The place is fun and be prepared for a loud environment because it is small but go with an open mind and it is a nice different experience I will go back and try their fish and chips

I have difficulty with steps but there were enough railings to make it navigable for me. The building was likely to have at one time been a small house. There were six of us in our party and we were initially told we would be sharing one bill and the gratuity would be automatically added. A couple of our folks expressed concern and intentionally ordered cheaper items and no drinks to make sure they had adequate funds to split the bill. Fortunately our waitress, who was a joy, did individual bills and did not put on an automatic gratuity. The policy had the potential to seriously reduce the restaurant's income. They should probably rethink this stance. As noted, our waitress was terrific and rapidly got drink and food orders sorted. The menu is pretty short, but probably a good choice for a small pub type restaurant. My wife and I both selected an on-tap local brew, both of which were good and reasonably priced. We both also selected the fish and chips. The order came with a side of cole slaw that was pleasant. The chips were obviously made on site and both properly cooked and well seasoned. We are always surprised at restaurants that serve obviously bagged and frozen fries. The fish itself was reasonably sized and nicely fried. Quite tasty, but we sort of expected good seafood as this is a sister restaurant to a local seafood establishment. For the price the portion sizes of all the meals at the table seemed just a bit small. So we will quite likely return. It's not fancy. It's not high end dining. It's a tad pricey for pub food, but overall pretty good. I note here that had our waitress not been a gem or had they enforced the one check policy, this review would have been a good deal more negative. I suspect they have an accessible entrance but it was not obvious. That may be a consideration for some and checking ahead of time would be prudent.
