Hands- down my favorite Mexican restaurant. Reminds me of Chicago Mexican joints. Love the queso panela. Their salsa is garlicky and spicy. 10/10

Post-renovation La Fogata = AWESOME! Service: (check). Fast ans friendly. Value: (check). Entree + appetizer was right at twenty bucks. Chips and [most flavorful Ft. Wayne salsa ever) were included free. Ambience: (check). Trendy redesigned restaurant and brand. The kitchen has been walled off with a floor to ceiling accent wall. Restaurant cafe style tables and chairs sit atop modern light colored wood flooring. Low lighting. Brick. Minimalist. Food: OMG (check). I ordered the queso which was smooth, rich and sprinkled with diced tomato. It was followed by an entree of cubed pork stewed in an authentic Mexican red sauce with creamy refried beans hugging a small portion of their fluffy and flavorful Spanish rice. This dish was spiced with precision and intention. It was splendid. I couldn't stop eating! I was so upset that I had waited so long to give La Fogata another chance. I will absolutely be back...and soon!

This is a great find in Ft. Wayne, IN. We walk in and it's very trendy on the inside. There are, I would say about 20 tables or so. The menu options are adequate for the size of the restaurant. They can only serve beer, as they do not have a liquor license, but do not let that hinder your decision to try this place. We were greeted promptly and offered fresh homemade tortilla chips, salsa, and pickled vegetables (carrots, onions, and jalapeños). I ordered the steak tampiquena, which offered a delicious and juicy steak, grilled sweet onion, rice, refried beans, and flour or corn tortillas. The hubby got chorizo burrito, which was stuffed with chorizo, lettuce, tomato, onion, and refried beans. It was served with rice. Everything was fresh and delicious. The prices were very reasonable in comparison to the portions. Highly recommend.

By far my favorite Mexican restaurant in Fort Wayne. Food is higher end compared to others, they use very fresh vegetables and ingredients. They also have a wonderful breakfast. Support this business, it's next to the Clyde and is a hidden gem. Best guacamole that I've ever had too.

I just thought the food was ok. There's several other Mexican restaurants in town that out shine them. Also it's very loud.

    Do they serve beer only?

Yes, we do a lot of imported beer. We also serve lime a Rita strawberry and more.

Is this place still open? We drove across town bc of the reviews and it looked like the windows were covered with garbage bags! There were no cars here on a Saturday night...

They are in the process of remodeling, so they are closed temporarily.

The restaurant is very well-decorated and is clean for the most part. As an avid lover of Mexican food, my boyfriend has been searching high and low for a place that he can frequent for a good meal. After trying a few other places, we decided to try Mi Parrilla on a whim after a long day at the local zoo. We walked into a lively interior, with ample seating and comfortable booths. Our waitress was friendly and prompt with checking on us before and after we ordered, and we were quickly settled in while waiting for our meals. I haven't had a lot of experience with Mexican cuisine, but I love birria and wanted to try that here; as for my boyfriend, he got a chimichanga. We were immediately impressed at the portion sizes when the food came out - everything looked amazing! And honestly, these are the best I've had so far. They were crisp, filled with meat and cheese, and so flavorful. My partner was also very satisfied with his food, saying that this would probably become his favorite spot in town. We'll definitely come back to try more of their enormous menu!

This is easily one of the top Mexican joints in all of Fort Wayne. It's a huge restaurant that was surprisingly dead for lunch, granted it was a Monday. It's a nicely decorated place, the service was friendly and really fast (food was out in less than 10 minutes), and the food was simply awesome. Their chips and salsa are outstanding... I could literally drink the salsa. You get a ton of food for the lunch portion (way too much to eat in one setting), so I can only imagine the size of their dinner portions. $30 for lunch (2 people) is a steal in today's restaurant price-gouging times. CDM might be our new "go to" Mexican joint, and it's certainly our favorite on the NE side of town.

We sat there and looked around but no one stopped over. There was a 6 top, 3 top, and 4 top there. The restaurant was pretty empty. So we left and the hostess who sat us said "have a nice night, and I told her no one ever came over" The chips were fresh but that's all we received. The restaurant was dead and quiet. There was no reason no one waited on us.

Wow, very nice and also delicious. Their menu is amazing. Wide array of Mexican seafood dishes. They also have some non seafood options if needed. But when you see a seafood heavy menu at a restaurant, you *really* should get it. I focused on their new menu of shrimp dishes. They included head-on shrimp, in the shells. I wasn't sure I wanted to work for my meal and get messy. But damn, that Camarones al Cilantro (shrimp with cilantro) looked fantastic. I hemmed and hawed and decided I would order it along with some guacamole to get some vegetable material in me. When it came it was piping hot. Couldn't eat it, so focused on the guac for a bit. As the shrimp cooled I went to town on what may have been the messiest meal of my life. (Do NOT order unpeeled shrimp if you are on a first date or a job interview) Let me tell you - these shrimp were unbelievable. They were swimming in sauce and as I peeled them, i then dipped and chowed. The cilantro/chili/garlic? sauce was off the charts good. The onions and cucumber buried within it were also a nice discovery as I made my way through this mountain of a full pound of shrimp. It took a while and the sauce dripped down to my elbows at times. It was a caveman eating experience and it was probably the best Mexican dish I have ever eaten. It was probably a good thing I was eating alone. I don't see any other way to eat this unless you're a psychopath crunching through shrimp shells. But leaving those shells on keeps the shrimp moist as they cook and more importantly it keeps the shrimp flavor from cooking off into the sauce. Shrimp with the shell on do taste better - they are not just being lazy here. This meal was great and I would love to go back if I'm driving through again. Thank you for this!
