We had a good lunch here. My meal was better than my husband's one. He got a roast pork sandwich. The bread was good, but the pork portion was quite skimpy and it only had a few thin onion pieces. And the flavor was rather bland. The French fries were not cooked thoroughly -- he was given them to try as he'd actually ordered sweet plantains (maduros) as his side. The maduros came later. I got their baby churasco with white rice and black beans. I liked my meal although the skirt steak was a tad tough to cut. The chimichurri and a squeeze of lime helped season the meat. The sweet plantains were good as were the beans and rice. We shared flan caramel for dessert. This was very good. read more

I came here for a casual family dinner and we were promptly served and sat down. The restaurant was relatively empty probably because since it was a week day and there was only 2 other people in the restaurant. We were able to order and modify our sides for our meals. It came out nice and hot and fresh. My only complaint would be the service since our waitress took way too long for refills and was nowhere to be found to ask again but we found another waiter to help fill up our water and give us more bread. Everyone enjoyed their meals and it was priced amazing for the portions! We only paid ~$90 for 4 meals and 1 drink and even had another for leftovers the next day. Guarapos is a wonderful little spot that always guarantees a great meal. For starters, the staff members are incredibly friendly. You're seated right away and your sever will bring waters and the most delicious, warm bread with some sort of butter on it that is to die for. Their menu is huge, so it's nice to having something to munch while everyone at the table decides what dish to get! The food itself is incredible. I've tried a few different steak dishes and the pork and was pleased every time. The meat is always well marinated and so tender. It's very clear that they have perfected all of their recipes! Their sides are also fantastic. I opt for the traditional side of rice, beans and plantains. However, i definitely recommend ordering some additional sides if you feel like branching out. Was craving some Cuban cuisine , so we picked up some take out, from Guarapos in Boynton Beach. Unfortunately it turned out to be a bad choice. Ordered the Ropa Vieja , which I have had many many times, in my last 45 years living in south Florida, and I am sorry to say, it was one of the worst, watered down sause which is supposed to be , thick and full of taste, had little flavor at all, it tasted like it came out of a can, the black beans Were just a little better but not by much. Great restaurant to be. Restaurant has guarapo (fresh squeezed sugar cane juice). They even have mix guarapo with different juice or cocktail. It is something special and unique. We were here because of the Churrasco. I have the Churrasco steak. The temperature was cook correctly. The taste is good. Big enough steak. It comes with rice, plantain and black beans sauce. I recently stopped by for lunch, and my experience was pretty solid overall. The restaurant had a lively vibe with lots of people picking up take-out orders, which added some fun energy to the place. I am saying this because this created some fun people watching as I had a good view from my table. My server was super friendly and helpful, which was appreciated. She brought out garlic bread as soon as I sat down. The garlic flavor was pretty mild and the bread was a bit soggy. I still ate a piece since I was hungry. For my main, I ordered the beef empanadas. They came three to an order and were tasty but definitely on the greasy side, seemed like they'd been deep fried a little to long. Next time I will try something else from their lunch menu, which actually has a pretty decent selection. They also offer daily specials that are reasonably priced. All in all, I'd go back and give it another shot. The service was good and there's a lot of good reviews, so I think there's more to try here that I might like. The food here is delicious! One of the only local cuban restaurants, which is so nice to have. The ratings should be much higher because it does not disappoint. Take out is quick and convenient. My husband ordered a milanesa steak and it came out with burnt parts, he sent it back and asked for shrimp al guajillo and it took about 15 minutes to get his food Very disappointing. After a recent visit I will not go back to guarapos. I've been a customer for years and it has disappointingly dropped off in quality. The first negative came with our appetizer of mariquitas. They looked fantastic as usual. But they were completely cold and not crisp. They were old and stale. My husband asked and they said they don't make them fresh. All I can say is I've had them dozens of times over the years and they've always been fresh until that day. As usual I ordered pollo a la plancha. It was burnt on the underside and was dry despite the heaping mound of onions. Again I've never had a problem with this dish before. Then I deviated from my norm and got yellow rice and a Caesar salad. The rice was terrible. I beleive it was made from parboiled rice which no legitimate Cuban restaurant should ever use. And the salad was even worse! What is this dressing? Disgusting. An inedible dressing and not Caesar. This chef clearly doesn't know what a Caesar is. My husbands pork chops were 2 super-thin unappetizing chunks of gray meat. His moros were also disappointing. To be clear this restaurant in the past had really delicious moros. As one of the few Cuban places around here I am so sad but I will not be back. read more

Our family has been enjoying this restaurant for many years and never gave it a review!! But the restaurant never disappoints. From the lively Cuban music as you enter and the instant and friendly service and quick delivery of your meal it's a real delight. Then there is the food. My wife really likes Boliche(pot roast) and not many Cuban restaurants in the area serve it!! My favorite is the lechon asado( roast pork) and of course the sides are white rice and black beans, yuca and tostones! Yum!! Ate here last night and had the pork chunks (Masitas de cerdo). This is one of my favorite meals to order at a Cuban restaurant, it's also one I am very familiar with because my sister married into a Cuban family and I grew up eating. Sadly, this was probably the worst I have tried. The pork should be marinated, that's how it gets it flavor, however; the pork I was served tasted like the oil it was fried in and nothing else. It's like they ran out of marinated pork and just cut some chunks and threw thew them into the friar with zero seasoning. I didn't even taste salt, just oil and fat. I did get mojo on the side which helped a little bit, but the dish simply wasn't prepared well. They get a stat for the warm Cuban bread. read more

We arrived around 5:20pm and were seated immediately. We ordered the empanandas and a media noche sandwich. The empanadas were light and crispy with excellent flavor. We had both chicken and beef. I have been in search of a very good Cuban restaurant for a long time and now I found it! Everything here is authentic and absolutely delicious! As soon as I sat down, I was greeted with a friendly smile and some warm Cuban bread! So good. For an appetizer, I started out with the Carne empanadas. They were outstanding! I went with the pork chunks for the main course and they were flavorful and juicy. The rice and beans were definitely homemade and I had to wash it down with an authentic Cuban coffee. Stopped for a quick lunch and I had never been here and my follks were Cuban! The menu was America Cuban with black beans rice and soy sauces and small salads . Because of my diet I asked for avocado salad and grilled shrimp. The shrimp was 12.95 a bit much than I expected for a side dish with nothing else on the plate as I asked. But it tasted great. Mostly quiet but as Cubans are there is laughter and the feeling even for lunch of excitement. The waitress was attentive and pleasant and checked on me frequently. I had a lovely lunch. It's almost impossible finding their menu online, let alone updated pricing. They do have a website but it's just ads, a gallery with a few images of their food and a contact us/map section. You'd think the most important thing to add would be their menu. After searching some more, I was able to find a picture of a menu page on Yelp and ordered it through there for pick up. They gave me an ETA and it came out as soon as I walked in the door. The food was also packed well where the chicken was in a separate container and so were the beans. As for flavor of the chicken fricassee, I'd say there wasn't really any. I really wanted to love it but it was fairly bland. The plantains were sweet but the rice was abit too mushy/soft for my liking. The portion was pretty good for a lunch special though, unfortunately I wouldn't order again. read more
