Gucci at Ala Moana Center is near center stage across from Chanel. After their renovation a few years ago, the store looks a lot more welcoming and bright. They also have another store in Waikiki but parking in Ala Moana Center is a lot easier than looking for parking in Waikiki. Over the years, we have enjoyed shopping here for bags, belts, jewelry, shoes and clothes. All the luxury merchandise they offer comes at a reasonable price point. The Sales Associates here have always been friendly and professional. Customer service is what you would expect at a store offering luxury goods. If you didn't know Gucci was the top luxury brand in 2021. They fall under the Kering brand and is an Italian fashion house. They recently did a collab with fashion house Balenciaga, which is also owned by Kering. I wanted to see some of their bags and it was stunning. Came here to just browse but I found a really cute chained wallet and really wanted it. It was predicted reasonably $1440 which isn't bad for a crossbody bag wallet. It came with a lot of cards lots and different pouches even one with a zipper. ESP worth since Hawaii tax is about 4%!! I checked online and it was priced at 1600 but could be a little different than the one I bought, but pretty much looks exactly the same. As I walked into the store Mayumi greeted me & assisted me, I already had an idea of what I wanted to see & I immediately saw the bag as I was talking to her so I asked to see it & I was pleased that it was exactly what I came to get. I liked the key ring coin purse that they had displayed with the bag so I got that too! I had a variety of compact wallets that I wanted to see Mayumi let me see them all I made my selection, unfortunately the one I wanted was out of stock at the Ala Moana store so she ordered one to be transferred to this store & I got it a week later. I was happy with the service I received & with all my purchases. I have my key fob for my car attached in the keychain coin purse tucked into my bag & I love that my car opens when it is even tucked away in my handbag. Gucci has always been one of my favorite high end brands. And I was so excited to hear that they were renovating their original location to be more open & brighter. Their re-grand opening was yesterday Feb 4th. The newly renovated is definitely bigger & brighter. It's very welcoming and everything is neatly displayed. We walked in and Calvin was the SA assisting us as we walked around and admired the store. If heart eye emojis were visible in reality, that's what my eyes looked like. From the ceiling details to the floor. Everything was beautiful! I wasn't able to get much photos because I was so busy soaking all the beauty in! If you remember the old look, you will definitely see a H U G E change is the layout and colors throughout the store. One of the things I love about Gucci is that they are ALWAYS so welcoming and never judgmental of how you dress or look! I absolutely love physically shopping and we went to the temporary Gucci shop at the Alamoana Center. The staff was very friendly and Jay Jay our SA was amazing! He made my Gucci shopping experience in Hawaii amazing! Although it's not a large store they had stock of some of my favorite pieces like the new Dionysus supreme canvas bag with a longer chain (finally) and the double GG jean collection which I have been eyeing this year. Jay Jay was accommodating, friendly, kind, recommended items and honest what more can you ask from an SA! I would say out of all the expensive designer shops, Gucci is the most relaxed. The bags are all out on display, so you get to freely try on bags and see how it looks on your body. The sales associates don't annoyingly follow you around the shop, but when you do need help they are there. I've had great service by Don. Originally the item I wanted was out of stock, so he suggested other items that were similar. In the end, I did buy something that he suggested, but in a different color. If you're looking to buy Gucci items, Hawaii is the best place (aside from Europe, of course haha) because items are 20% off compared to the mainland and the tax is very low! read more

My SA , Jae Park, was so friendly and helpful throughout my whole experience from showing me the bag that I originally went in to see (the Gucci Soho Disco) to showing me other options of similar capacity but different styles. I ended up buying the 1955 Horsebit top handle thanks to her recommendation and it was a piece that I hadn't considered before but after trying it on completely fell in love with. Jae even showed me matching horsebit loafers and helped me to order a brand new bag to be shipped to my home. She went above and beyond by inspecting the item for me and sending me photos prior to mailing it out! I've shopped at other luxury brand stores before but none have provided me an experience as pleasant and happy as this one. Find Jae for your future Gucci shopping experiences - she is the best! I received a gift for my 40th birthday and it wasn't the right size. This was an online purchase from Gucci.com. We read the return policy and it clearly states that we're able to return this item in person at the store regardless if its sold in store or not. We drove down to the store and the representative Keiko said that because they don't sell the item in the store they are not able to refund us right away. They would have to send it out. This is the only company that I know of that does not accept returns in store for an online purchase regardless if they sell it or not... During these times a company like this should appreciate every customer and every sale. People do not have to buy or spend money on a Gucci item. Whenever I'm in town, I always make a trip to this store. If its not around my birthday, anniversary, or holiday, i will drop by to say hello to my sales associate Marlene and show her how my grandsons are growing. I started out with Kellee and when she left she introduced me to Marlene. I've never felt discriminated against like I don't belong.(there was a rumor that they only cater to the japanese tourist) Most associates already know when they see me I'm coming to see Marlene. She's so friendly and is like an aunty to us. I love the Gucci brand more so after i went on a trip to Italy. I love the guccisima and microguccissima which they are not really selling anymore. And the styles are changing. Prices are better here than online or the mainland stores. If I see something I like, I always check with Marlene if they have it in stock and what their price is. It helps that their sales tax is low too, that makes a difference when you're spending that much. So me and my fiance' went here while we were on vacation last week. We were looking for a specific purse and the other location did not have it so ended up here. I don't remember the salesman name but I was not happy with him at all. He pulled out the purse I wanted and the first thing I noticed was that there was a scratch on the purse he was showing me. I pointed this out to him and he told me of it's just a scratch. That was really disappointing to me because if I'm paying you almost $1000 for a purse that purse should be in mint condition. For him to think that was okay for him to sell was very disappointing to me. I really wanted that purse that's why I still ended up selling it. Unfortunately, when I got back from my vacation I noticed the dust bag was also stained. They need to seriously check their items before selling them. I thought I was imagining things but was curious enough to check the reviews and someone else had a similar experience just recently. I had just purchased a bag from Louis Vuitton, stopped by Gucci to check something out for my boyfriend. I was wearing joggers & a tida bun, so yeah I get it I do not look like the ideal client. But I also would have purchased something today had I not felt like I was being followed. I work in retail as a sales manager so I know how loss prevention is important but there is also a way to go about it. When the lady realized I was in a section unsupervised she literally ran across the room to check on me. I wandered around for a little bit still browsing wondering maybe she could be just aggressive in wanting to sell something, but NOPE. Didn't ask me if I was looking at anything in particular, didn't fill me in on any products, and she also followed me until I almost walked out the door. This just made me not want to purchase anything from that location I'll just purchase it from Nordstrom or even drive all the way to Waikiki, willing to even pay a little more than go back to a place that discriminates. I feel like this is a common theme with locals going into high end retailers but please go about it another way, I hate feeling like I don't belong in my own home, yet TOURIST get the human decency. read more

I've loved and still love Gucci merchandise -- been a Gucci fan for over a couple of decades. My mom started me on Gucci (she always carried around an Ophidia boston bag when I was little - that Ophidia design grew on me. My experiences at the Waikiki and Ala Moana stores were similar but different in a sense. I guess it depends on the sales agent that you interact with on arrival. So far at Gucci in general, all of the sales agents were very pleasant but the differences I've picked up on is how well they were willing to pull additional products to make it work for your style. I've had some just tell me "it looks good on you" even when I didn't agree. In the last year, I purchased merchandise from the Ala Moana and Waikiki physical locations, and once online. The best thing about purchasing at the stores in Hawaii is that you get a discount. The price tag on the products already reflect the discounted prices. The discount early last year was 20%-25%, later last year the discount was reduced to 10% - BUT there is still savings! If you purchase online, you pay the full retail price but their customer service and online features (personal shopping experience) is pretty awesome! At the Ala Moana store, my sales agent is Kevin. He's been amazing in helping to pull products that would fit what I was looking for (even when I had no idea what I was looking for) he would come back with recommendations. He is always so pleasant and makes it worth going back. Communication has been terrific with Kevin - go see him - you won't be disappointed. I don't have a "preferred" sales agent at the Waikiki store as I go there only when I see (online) that the product that I want is not available at the Ala Moana store. read more

I am very disappointed in the service. I went to all designer stores and they treated me AMAZING, but as soon as I went inside Gucci, no one helped me. Not a single sales associate approached me either. I was looking rough. I just got off of work and just but on my big green Mustang tee shirt and shorts. Kumiko helped me find a wallet I liked the last time I visited, but unfortunately the one I wanted was sold out. I have been researching for the best small leather goods (luxury) for a while now and decided to treat myself. My daughter and her BF went with me to Ala Moana. Unlike most high-end stores, I have to say Gucci is the most welcoming of them all. I can go in there dressed all raggy and still would be approached by at least 2 ppl and be assisted without any judgement. As it should. Customer service is so important when it comes to retention. I would definitely have to agree with other yelpers about the relaxed vibe here. I never feel intimidated and have never been snobbed by any employee. I am not one to get all dressed up. 80% of the time, I'm wearing an anime tank and denims. Ive come with my kids in tow and without. No matter how I come, I always feel welcomed. Even if I'm browsing or purchasing, it's all the same amazing service. The store is pretty organized and easy to navigate. Front would be women's bags & SLGs, toward the back would be belts & ready to wear, and toward the side door are the shoes & men's SLGs. I am definitely not in the market for purchasing designer clothing so I really can't speak to their clothing line. I have started a collection of handbags, wallets and a belt. Hopefully soon I'd love to own a pair of Gucci shoes, I just can't decide which! I appreciate the fact that most of the items are readily available to try on.
