We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Guerra Steakhouse, and it was a wonderful experience. The food was phenomenal, and the service was warm and friendly from start to finish. The ambiance really stood out, we sat outside for a nighttime dinner, and the scenery was absolutely beautiful. One of the highlights was having our steak grilled tableside, which was such a cool and memorable touch. We do have a favorite steakhouse that we usually compare others to, and while Guerra didn't quite top that for us, it was still very good and absolutely worth the visit. Overall, it was a great experience, and we would definitely come back. Highly recommend for a special occasion or a nice night out. Our Servers were Daniel and Jose. This may be my favorite steakhouse of all time..... and I've been to quite a few in the area and in general. The quality of our steaks, the sides, and the drinks - phenomenal! Made to order, delicious, fresh, flavorful. I could go on and on. I want to bite into that filet mignon for the first time again and again! The service was great- sometimes my father can be a little particular, and our server handled it so well and with grace and just wonderful service! Super attentive too. The ambiance was great. I would recommend making a reservation here as the indoor space is a little smaller. Parking can also be a little rough, but due to the quality of everything else, it really doesn't affect my review at all. We cannot WAIT to return! read more

I have lived in the neighborhood for four years and never really had a reason to stop in for an expensive steak until recently. Thank God I finally did! PHEW this food was awesome. My sister and I both had the hanger steak (medium and medium rare respectively). We also ate mashed potatoes, broccoli and asparagus sides. The steaks were 10/10. The vegetables and potatoes were 10/10. No question. But we were both very torn over our choices of six sauces and the waiter brought us two each instead of one. And the sauce is where the BIG PROBLEM started! WHY ON EARTH would you serve absolutely delicious fantastic 10/10 house made sauces (like horseradish, port wine, mushroom, chimichurri) when you're serving up absolutely delicious 10/10 food??? I couldn't bring myself to use the sauce and hide the flavor of all the food we ordered. Potatoes too creamy and tasty to douse in even the best sauces (which these were). Even the broccoli and asparagus were too good to be hidden under sauce. Obviously the steak was perfect on its own. Came here for my wife's birthday the other day, and it was fantastic. The steaks (hangar), el fuego shrimp, roasted mushrooms, creamed spinach, and mashed potatoes were all delicious. And they made a special salad for my daughter who couldn't find exactly what she wanted on the menu. They brought out a special dark chocolate mousse and candle for my wife's birthday, and the family shared our own dark chocolate mousse and mango sorbet. Both were also great! What a great steak place. We have been to J Gilbert's, Mike's American, etc. but none can hold a candle to Guerra. Not stuffy, not overpriced, super friendly, and simply amazing steak. We got hanger, filet, ribeye, and filet/oscar. All perfectly cooked without being over-seasoned. Their side sauces complimented the meat without overpowering it. Came for my fiance's birthday and were underwhelmed. Service wise: we waited FOREVER. I think it was about 45 minutes before anything came to our table. The first thing to arrive was our side of fries. 30ish minutes later the rest of our food came. To the restaurant's credit, they brought us another side of fries, because, why would they bring out the fries 30 minutes before the rest of the food? I ordered my steak rare, and it came out medium. My fiance ordered medium and got medium. The steaks were good enough (because, hey, it's steak) but undersalted. We liked the chimichurri. The mashed potatoes and fries we got were good (albeit nothing stand out). Drinks were also standard issue. This was my first time here and I'm impressed by the food and service we received. The waitress (i think her name was Camilla) was very sweet, patient, and accommodating to the meat temperature me and my family requested. Some of us like our steak well done (I know some of you claim it's a culinary sin but I don't want me steak mooing). Me and my mom ordered well done ribeyes and it was still juicy. I've only trusted one restaurant too give me good well done steak. I'm happy to add another one to the list. My brother ordered the Tomahawk for 2 FOR HIMSELF, LOL. And ordered lobster Mac and Cheese, fries, and mashed potatoes to go with it. And an extra order of shrimp to go with it. He really enjoyed it as this was his first time trying Tomahawk. My Dad ordered the Cowboy Steak and was impressed with the taste and tenderness. Each steak came with a side of mashed potatoes and even the side was delicious and well seasoned. She always checked in on us, helped us with recommendations on steaks based on our requested temperatures, and gave us a complimentary dessert for our birthday celebration. We celebrated my husband's birthday here this year and it was just not a good experience. When we got there, they told us we'd have to wait for our table and suggested the restaurant next door for a cocktail. They told us to come back in ten minutes and we waited a little bit longer, closer to 20 minutes, to come back. The table still was not ready and the host told us he couldn't ask a table to leave yet. I saw that they have a time limit on reservations so having to wait was either the result of overbooking or not enforcing their policies. They eventually convinced us to sit at a table outside while we waited and they brought us complimentary champagne. A nice gesture but I don't drink and at this point we've been waiting for more than 45 minutes all the while paying for a sitter at home. When we finally got seated, the food was fine, though not memorable enough to make up for the earlier experience, and the service was subpar. I imagine a lot of people choose a steakhouse or a nice restaurant like this to celebrate milestones. When you are paying more, there is an expectation for more and I think Guerra definitely failed to meet that expectation. read more

Amazing steakhouse in Rosslyn. Although a little inconspicuous on the outside, the inside is quite nice. The staff is extremely nice and attentive. They gave great recommendations (the shrimp appetizer is great). We ordered a rare steam and a lobster mac and cheese. Both were delicious. The steam came out a little medium rare on the ends and the waiter doubled check with us after seeing it himself to see if we were ok with it. We didn't mind and I was impressed with the proactiveness of the waiters. They're extremely nice and want to take care of you. They're grill on charcoal so it is very impressive that they perfectly cook everything with such precision. Definitely a hidden gem in Rosslyn, which has so many mid tier corporate food. read more

Very relaxed dining experience with great ambiance in a busy part of Arlington. Parking was still not a problem. They serve smoked drinks in a fancy lantern looking container. Look for it! Others had steaks that they seem to love (I am a vegetarian so I cannot comment on that!). I ordered a few side dishes as my meal - Mac and Cheese, Fried Mushrooms and French Fries. I started with the passion fruit martini which I will come back for again and again lol. We went to Guerra for a celebration. I easily booked the reservation about a month in advance. The ambiance is intimate and warm and was the perfect spot for a crisp fall evening. All the sides come family style, so you can get one or two to share with the table! The food was really good - I ordered the blackened salmon and had sides of the Mac n cheese, whipped potatoes, Mac n cheese, and Brussels sprouts. All of it was excellent! We also ordered two bottles of Cabernet. It was really delicious wine. My only complaint was they only had bottles that were around $60 - no house wine. For celebrations when you want to order several for the table that can be a little annoying. Overall, great experience. read more

Came here for a nice dinner date and was not disappointed. We made a reservation and were seated right away when arrived. Staffs were nice and friendly. Crab bisque was delicious and well-seasoned. The crabmeat croquette was alright, had only a little taste of crabmeat, so I would try something else next time. Steak was cooked perfectly as ordered and paired well with the garlic butter, if you like some more of the sweeter profile then the brandy mushroom sauce was a good pair as well. We were full by the time we finished out meal so we did not have room to try their dessert this time, though it looked good (from a peek of another table that ordered the chocolate mousse and chocolate lava cake, yum) This restaurant is very small and tables are set very close to each other, so it felt a little crammed during the dinner rush. We did not have a problem finding a parking spot when arrived, since this restaurant located in a small plaza, it might be a challenge to park during rush hours. Came here for a 35th wedding anniversary and was not disappointed at all! They ordered the tableside Tomahawk steak and my date and I ordered the cowboy and and entrecôte steaks. They were all very well seasoned and cooked perfectly. The Tomahawk is cooked tableside and was a nice treat! For drinks, we had a bottle of Moscato, a smokey old fashion (best OF I've ever had), and a fancy margarita. Service was spectacular and fast! Ambiance was adorable. It was close to dinner time and I realized they're only open for dinner. I thought about making reservations, however, I figured if I get there at a decent time, I should be good to get a table. Plus, it was only two in my party so I figured we had a good chance. We got lucky and the hostess said she has a table available for an about and a half (reservations expected to come by then). We accepted the table; knowing we were there to eat and not socialize because we had somewhere to be at a specific time. So it worked out. Now to the food! ORDER * Cowboy - 26oz * This handsome piece of steak was thick, juicy and tender. Cooked medium rare (why waste a steak eating it tough and well done). It's not pictured, however if you glance at the other pictures in the gallery, you'll see what I mean. * Ribeye - 16oz * Another handsome piece of steak that was amazing. It was also thick, juicy and tender. There were many pieces that melted in your mouth throwing delicious shock waves throughout your tastebuds. It came with bits of roasted garlic on top. The steaks entrees came with house mashed potatoes. We got an additional side going with the spinach. The mashed potatoes were so creamy and fluffy. Full of flavor. The spinach was good and also creamy. * Scallops * These tasty scallops were glazed in butter garlic sauce. The portions were generous as an appetizer. You get complimentary fresh bread and butter. The butter is seasoned and jazzes up the bread. I decided to have an adult beverage to chase down my steak. I went with the HIBISCUS SUNSET. Even the drink was good. It wasn't too sweet either. I can't recall what was in it but I highly recommend it. Overall, the restaurant was top notch. The service was good and the food is amazing. The restaurant isn't that big however there's outdoor seating. The restaurant felt like fine dining. Everyone at the restaurant seemed to be dressed up and there for a special occasion (a few couples clearly on a nice date, and birthday celebration). We were not dressed up, however a lot of the people were. We enjoyed our delicious food in our causal fits (jeans and sneakers). They weren't overly crowded but our waiter didn't check on us until 45 minutes into our meal. I had to flag the hostess down several times just to get more water. And our order was messed up twice. Would be cool if there was some sort of bar seating but space in Rosslyn is a premium. Let's talk sides. The good and bad. Creamed spinach - very good. Brussels and mashed potatoes were ok. "Seasonal Mushrooms..." look...it's June. You know exactly the one mushroom I'm looking for in May and June. It's not the baby portabellas and shitaake from the local grocer sautéed in EVOO. Seasonal mushrooms in May and June are a standard fare. And then the ribeye. Ordered medium-rare. Cook at the mid-point of the steak was medium-well to well. Thickest part of the cut was medium for about 3-4 bites. Season and sere were fine, but you cannot overcook this cut as a quality steakhouse. If your service staff see an overcook, they need to intervene. It's not how it should exit your expo. I've included photos. It was clearly a well-marbled cut cooked poorly. Solid steak spot. Would recommend if that's what you're craving/looking for and okay with the price. The place is pretty small and there isn't a lot of parking spots in the area. If you go during peak time, may need to parallel park. We tried the steak tartare appetizer and it was delicious. People at the table either had the 12 oz NY Strip or the 16 oz Ribeye and all enjoyed it. My only thing is the sides. They were pretty basic which isn't a bad thing, just FYA. I also wished the mushrooms weren't overcooked. They looked burnt. For dessert, got the Chateau Les Justices Sauternes. Was good, but not the flavor profile I like, so wouldn't get that again. Lastly the staff was friendly, appreciated him explaining everything and answer our questions. Water was refilled, wine was refilled, bread was fabulous, We were here for a one year work anniversary. My waiter was Momo, who was attentive, smart and knows his menu!
