There was more than enough food, and the portions were large and satisfying. They provided everything needed to serve lunch, which made the process so easy. The flavor of the food was incredible, and even with delivery, everything arrived fresh and hot! Our luncheon was a huge success, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. I highly recommend Texas Pride Barbeque for any event, they truly go above and beyond. Thank you!

Never again. This place has so much potential to be outstanding, but there are a few factors that…read morewill always prevent it. Perhaps lunchtime is just not best time to come here, but the staff was simply rude and unhelpful. Talk about just serving food without any kindness or proactive service... that was them. They opened the door late, and they didn't bother to say a word about where to sit or order. The food is not good enough to be rude. The food is not good enough to not be ready for a party of 25. Moreover, I asked my fellow diners how they felt without planting any seeds about my beliefs, and they all said everything was pretty much disappointing about that lunch. The space to eat was without lighting and the bathrooms were dark. I am telling you... this was terrible. The food is not good enough to have poor service! I can keep going, but I think you get the point.

Great BBQ Before or After Sightseeing…read more Smoke Shack has become one of our go to spots whenever we have guests visiting. It is the perfect stop after showing friends and family the Alamo and the River Walk before heading back home. Just be prepared for a line because every time we have gone, there is usually one. It moves, but it is definitely part of the experience. Our go to items are always the lip smacking brisket. We order a pound of regular and a quarter pound of lean. Both are tender and flavorful. The ribs and sausage are also solid choices. For sides, we rotate between the well seasoned green beans, mac and cheese, beans and okra. All of them are excellent and you really cannot go wrong. Side note. I am not a fan of their corn. I prefer corn that leans sweet rather than spicy, so it is not my favorite. Next time I go, I already know what I want to try. Either the Brisket Sandy or the Brisket Grilled Cheese. Both look incredible. Smoke Shack is always a reliable stop for good Texas BBQ and a great place to bring visitors for an authentic taste of San Antonio.

Restaurant: Smoke Shack Ordered:…read more* Brisket sandwich * Potato salad A-List Take: The brisket had good flavor, but it seemed to be seared or reheated before serving. I personally prefer brisket that's freshly sliced without being cooked again. I was also surprised that additional brisket slices cost $0.50 each. The potato salad had plenty of ingredients, but it wasn't my favorite. My biggest concern was that it was cool rather than cold, which made me question whether it was being kept chilled enough. A-List Verdict: Brisket had flavor. Extra charge for slices was unexpected. Potato salad temperature was disappointing. A-List Rating: (3/5) The BBQ had potential, but the reheated brisket and lukewarm potato salad kept this one from making my A-List. Until next bite... this is A-List, keeping it deliciously honest.

Their brisket is divine and the sides we chose were out of this world. My husband loves their beans. The green beans were unique and I appreciated that they were super flavorful with tomatoes and delicious broth. The star of the show with the sides was the King Ranch Mac N Cheese!!!! I grew up on King Ranch Chicken Casserole as a child. So I was thrilled to have a macaroni with those delicious flavors. For a little history, that particular casserole emerged in the 1950s as a convenient, post-World War II Tex-Mex comfort food. Despite its name, it has no actual ties to Texas's famous King Ranch; instead, it is a creative, canned-soup-based casserole inspired by the Mexican dish chilaquiles. I am ususally underwhelmed by macaroni and cheese but this was the best. The macaroni shape was unusual and the closest I could find online was called "Radiator" because the similarity in shape to a radiator. It held the sauce perfectly though. McKayla helped us cart out our food to the car and was so sweet and helpful. We love Burnt Bean and plan to return!

Get there at opening (or before) and expect to wait in line for more than an hour and half, totally worth it! Currently rated #1 Texas BBQ by the long-revered Texas Monthly top 50 list. And let's be honest, if it's the best BBQ in Texas-- it's really the best BBQ in the world! The MICHELIN Guide website, gave them the Bib Gourmand recognizing them for "restaurants that offer the best value for money." And it's true!Imagine having the best BBQ in the world and still offering prices affordable for families! Well done Burnt Bean, very Texas of y'all! Ok, enough of the accolades-- here's my honest opinion. The service and ambience is family-friendly. But... don't expect to sit all together, we were a group of 8 and sat at tables back to back. I don't often get chicken at a Texas BBQ place, but I heard I should here and it did NOT disappoint! Fantastic with or without sauce! It's Texas... and so places are often judged by their brisket... it was the best I've had! The sausage is good with lots of flavor and not too spicy, but I've had better sausage. The star of the show was the beef back ribs! Fall off the bone tender and absolutely phenomenal flavor! I've never had anything like it! My son... ten years old, prefers chicken nuggets, and doesn't know much about BBQ (yet) took one bite and responded "Oh my goodness!!" While there, get the Street Corn Pudding as a side and don't forget the Banana Pudding for dessert!
