We had been passing this location for some time and finally had enough time to stop. It is easy to get to and has plenty of parking. The place's decor is nice and fitting for a BBQ joint. Nothing spectacular happened but nothing bad either. The BBQ was good but not enough for me to go out of the way to go back due to the area having so many other options. I saw other reviews that said the brisk was moist, but ours was dry. The ribs weren't bad and I got the loaded baked potato. This review is mainly about their half pound brisket sandwich. For the past four months I've met a friend at this Dee Willie's location in China Grove once a month and I always order the brisket sandwich and ask for the marbled, or fatty, slices of meat. The first one was spectacular. It was juicy, smoky, tender, and had great flavor. Since that first one, it's as if they ignored my request so I ended up with the lean and dry sliced meat. A really good brisket doesn't need barbecue sauce but today's brisket sandwich did. I was very disappointed with the meat but the bread for the sandwich they served was very tasty. As for the service, it's always good and the waiter was very polite and attentive, and the place is very clean. If my friend and I go back there, I'll have to insist on the marbled brisket and see what happens. Hopefully it will be like that first brisket sandwich I had. read more

I live north of the Airport in SA and always make a point of driving to Dee Willis when I want BBQ. There are 2 very well known bbq restaurants very close to me. Unfortunately I do not like them. Stop regularly on our way to San Antonio. Their chopped BBQ sandwiches are so good and really moist & tender. You get a lot on the best toasted bun I've ever wrapped my lips around. The brisket was so tender and had just the right amount of soft buttery fat on it & the rib was just picture perfect of what is expected when craving one!!
