    Brisket/ Turkey & brisket beans/ potato salad
    Stephanie B.

Two piece with two sides. Brisket and Turkey with potato salad and brisket beans. This was the first time I was here. The potato salad was good has a slight sweet taste and has no egg in it. The beans also are also good with a little brisket in them they do need salt added but that's a preference. The meats, the marble is good but the lean was ok. The turkey, the skin on the turkey I couldn't eat it was very tough and dry. The turkey itself had a different flavor I had never had before in a turkey. I did finish the plate, the price was reasonable, and the service at the window was great.

I have been wanting to try this place for awhile. Always closed when we're in the area. Finally we came. It was worth the wait for the most part! It's not crazy expensive. That's a plus. The tables weren't dirty and the floor was clean. Unlike our recent visit to castroville bbq. I give credit to the very nice and positive older gentleman cleaning up and asking how our food was. If most places had just ten percent of his attitude, just saying.... Ok on to the food. We had brisket, ribs(to go), turkey, chicken, and sausage. For sides we had green beans, brisket beans, Mac and cheese, and cream corn. The brisket was smoked to perfection. Great flavor and excellent smoke. The turkey was fantastic! Great pepper bite. Tender but not dry. The sausage, was so good I wished had ordered more! Great texture and taste! Then we get to the least favorite. The chicken. It was not dry...but that's it. I think it was smoked too fast. The skin was Iike leather. Also lacked any spice. It was severely under seasoned and could have used some type of brine. The sides were fantastic! The brisket beans were better than good. Just a tad under seasoned as well, but the brisket keeps it from being a disappointment. The cream corn was not that can type consistency nor flavor. I don't usually like getting macaroni because more often than not it's disappointing. This was actually good, but the favorite was the green beans. Excellent texture, perfect seasoning, and just a great representation of what it should be! Besides the chicken being disappointing, the bbq sauce was by far the worst one we've had in a while. It was way too sweet. I swear it seemed like they may have used chamoy in the sauce. I say it as a joke, but we couldn't figure out why it was so sweet and vinegary at the smart time. Also, they gave us exactly three slices of pickle and exactly two onion rings in each plate. I guess cost cutting maybe the reasoning. Then our small to go order was packed with pickles and onions. Perplexing. Almost forgot. The ribs in our to go order, were dang good! Fall of the bone tender. I guess, besides the chicken, the proteins were so good that they didn't need sauce. Just avoid the sauce! Also, they have stevia! Plus!!!! Great place, and hope to come back again to try the nachos everyone kept ordering!

My sister and bro-in-law were excited to show me Bar-B-Q Republic since they know I love BBQ and I love to eat!! The staff is amazingly friendly. They took time answering questions and were just genuinely sweet people. I ordered the sampler platter which had pretty much every meat they offer except for the ribs. We also ordered "da bombs" (brisket stuffed jalapeños wrapped in bacon). I don't eat jalapeños, but these....these were on a completely different level. The bacon was so dang flavorful to start with and cooked perfectly. I thought it was going to be either tough or too flimsy, but it was just dang perfect!!! I eliminated both of mine within 5 mins. So dang good. Next, the sampler came out and it was loaded. Brisket, pulled pork, sausage, turkey and chicken. Everything was juicy and flavorful. I thought the pulled pork could have just a bit more spice, but overall, everything was great. For the love of Pete....when you go, get the sweet potato's. I couldn't stop eating them. I almost finished the whole container we ordered. Overall, I will thought it was great and honestly what made it even better was the family who runs it. They literally make you feel at home.

Came for the nachos, tried the sausage and Mac too! Had a hankering for some loaded nachos and they did not disappoint- smoked queso, brisket, beans, pico, sour cream and your choice of bbq sauces on the side by the drinks. Their lemonade kicks! And I am not normally a lemonade girl but my kids are. Sausage link made me pause to savor.

Had been to the old location and wasn't that impressed. Came tonight (Friday, August 8, 2025) with a friend about 5:15pm. When we pulled in the parking lot (which was fairly full) my friend asked a customer leaving how good it was. He says he comes frequently and it's good. Also advised us to try the brisket beans and the cream corn. Well I am very happy that I did!!! We walked in and there was stock stacked up against a wall but it was not bad just added to the decor which was old Texas with cow skins on the wall and checkered table clothes. We went up to the counter and were greeted warmly. She was very patient as we decided on what to have. My friend got the 1lb ribs plate with coleslaw and sweet potato casserole. I got the brisket (1/4 pound) with the cream corn and beans. We also ordered two beverages. They gave us our cups and a beeper. We were told when the beeper went off our food would be brought to us. We went and got our drinks and there was a nice variety. I had a tropical punch and my friend had a lemonade (the punch was tasty). While we were getting our drinks a server handed us napkins, straws and utensils. When the beeper went off she brought our food and asked if we wanted BBQ sauce (spicy or regular) we chose regular cause we are whimpy. The ribs were meaty and delicious. The meat didn't fall off the bone, but pretty close. The brisket was tender and the smoke ring was very visible. We both did like the ribs better, but would get the brisket again. The sides... yummylicious!!!!!! The sweet potatoes casserole was sweet without being cloying and had pecans. The coleslaw was wet which I like and just the right about of sweet. The brisket beans had a smoky flavor w/bits of meat and the cream corn was seasoned well. And all portion sizes were generous. I am not disappointed at all about this meal (which also came with 2 slices of white bread, dill pickle chips and pickled onions) and so glad I gave them another chance. Well worth it! (We did take home leftovers).

Missed out on their D-bombs, alas we got there in the late afternoon and they were short some sides. Pro tip: show up before dinner time for the complete menu. What we were able to order is the sampler plate. It was plenty of meat, enough for the five of us. We also ordered a pint each of potato salad and Mac and cheese each. The meats were delicious. The brisket was marbled and moist. The chicken was tasty and portioned generously. The pulled pork had flavor. The sampler plate was worth it for a hungry group of four. We also enjoyed the cheesecake and banana pudding. The pudding was loaded with fresh banana slices, vanilla wafers and wafer crumble, and whipped cream. I was also pleased with their drink station. Not everybody carries Kool-Aid, but it is appreciated. Plenty of parking out front. Indoor and outdoor seating. Friendly staff. It was pretty easy to see what they had and order what you wanted. Nice BBQ place if you're in the area...if we have another game at Holy Name, we will pre game meal here.

First time trying this barbecue place. My sister got the idea off tiktok..Not a huge fan. The music was great, customer service was great they put on the foot ball game per a customers request! As far as the food i defiantly could pass.. the texas tater and sides was excellent and so we're the d-bombs, everything thing else not so much. The three meet plate was okay but the meat was dry and lacked flavor. The pulled pork sandwich lacked flavor as well.

Decided to try this place out after seeing it pop up numerous times on my TikTok FYP....the restaurant itself was extremely clean and the staff was polite and helpful. The food itself was really good as well. I had a potato with chopped brisket which was great. I tried the mac and cheese as well but it was lacking a little flavor. I'd be back for the brisket and to try out some other menu items at some point.

This is an adorable restaurant! The Service is wonderful and the restaurant was clean during my visit. The marbled brisket was so delicious. I'm giving 4 stars because the sides were lacking flavor. I ordered mac and cheese and there wasn't much cheese. other than that, I wouldn't mind coming back for more brisket, yum!

1.The chicken sandwich toasted with potato salad was very good, the chicken is very moist and the BBQ sauce is light but full of flavor. 2.The employees that work here are nice and helpful and the service was great. 3. The dessert I had was excellent banana pudding, one of the best.. 4. Decorations are like old country style restaurant.

From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between laid-back Texas charm and a lively River Walk experience. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from start to finish. I ordered the three-meat plate with the sausage, second-cut brisket, and smoked turkey, and every bite was outstanding. The brisket was tender and packed with smoky flavor, the sausage had the perfect snap and seasoning, and the smoked turkey was surprisingly juicy and flavorful. The baked beans and mac & cheese were fantastic sides that complemented the barbecue perfectly. To top it all off, I had one of the best mango margaritas I've ever tasted--refreshing, smooth, and the perfect pairing for the meal. And don't even think about skipping the complimentary bread with honey butter. It's warm, fresh, and absolutely to die for. Between the incredible food, excellent service, and unbeatable River Walk atmosphere, The County Line was one of the highlights of our trip to San Antonio. For a starter we shared the cornbread with another couple and it was plenty for 4 people. If you are from out of town and looking for some Texas-shaped vittles or just want something substantial to stretch your meal I recommend it! Very tasty and filling. For my main I had the scallops with creamed corn risotto. It was a dainty portion but the flavors were nice. My husband had the short rib tagliatelle which he loved. It was very rich and filling. We had the buttermilk pie again for dessert and this time it tasted sweeter than I remembered. It was good but we couldn't finish it. Idk if it was my tastebuds or if it was different. Y'know it's impossible to find street parking especially on the weekends normally. I had made reservations to meet some friends here for brunch/lunch 1145 am on a Sunday. The hostess was welcoming and friendly and our server was excellent. We were seated in the other building near the windows. The menu wasn't huge, but just right with a few lunch and brunch items. After debating for a while of what to order, I decided on the Texas Gulf Shrimp plate. Agua Fresca of the day per our server was strawberry pineapple. Our server was able to water mine down slightly- since it was very sweet, but love knowing that it was freshly made. Complimentary chips and salsa always a plus, and we were able to order some spicy salsa to accompany at no charge. My shrimp plate was delicious! 2 skewers of nicely cooked and seasoned shrimp atop salsa with perfectly cooked cilantro rice and a fresh leaf salad. A half slices avocado accompanied my plate. Oh how I love avocados. I thoroughly enjoyed my plate. The chicken al carbon was also a good choice - half a chicken that was juicy, not dry. The avocado toast was beautiful and the pecan salsa was quite interesting. The female performers during our brunch in the room, made it very hard for all of us to have conversations. The volume echoed loudly in the room, so it was very hard to speak and understand each other. Although a great idea, maybe outdoor patio area might be more suitable.
