I was promptly greeted and seated even though it seemed quite busy. My server arrived quickly and took my drink order, and brought chips and salsa. The chips were hot and well salted and the salsa was good. I opted for the Birria Tacos listed as one of their premium tacos. The food came out quickly given how busy the place was. I think they were slightly overcooked. The tortillas seemed freshly made, and the au jus was delicious. The beef itself was okay, and there was less cheese than I expected. It was still a good dinner. As far as the restaurant itself, I was seated in the bar area, and overhead were old dished light/fan fixtures that looked pretty dirty. They might was to remove those as they just collect dust which eventually falls/drifts down. The air vents weren't looking very good either. These really kind of affect his the place could be perceived. I'll still leave 4 stars although I almost dropped to 3. There aren't half stars to give. A little attention to the facility might leave a better impression.

We also tried the coconut rum and pineapple juice, along with the signature margarita. Both were made to order and ready within minutes. Delicious! Because of that, we respectfully asked about getting a refund. The staff told us only a manager could approve refunds, but the manager wasn't there at the time. No alternative solution was offered -- not a replacement meal, store credit, or any way to help resolve the situation. Since this is a family-owned restaurant it left us feeling stuck and unheard as customers. I understand policies exist, but spending that much money and leaving without being able to eat the food or get help addressing the issue was very frustrating. I hope management can improve how situations like this are handled so other customers don't have the same experience.

The pour over, fresh ground coffee served with a shot glass of sparking water to refresh the palate set the stage for the care and level of food quality and service we could expect. The egg and cheese quesadillas were mouth watering and left us wanting for more. The egg and chorizo Mexican torta was so huge I didn't think I'd be able to eat it all, but each bite was rich with authentic Mexican flavors that I couldn't stop. We topped it off with the beautifully baked concha bun that finished us off perfectly. The location is great with plenty of parking and once warmer temperatures come, sitting outside on the patio next to the water will be the place to be. Can't wait to go back!
