While I have been so excited to eat at the Spain Wine Bar and had a delicious meal, I want to start by explaining the weird interaction with the manager. After finally getting sat, and ordering drinks and food with our waitress (who was very kind), the manager came over to our table asking to confirm our reservation. He was insinuating that we sat ourselves because he could not confirm our reservation. First off, seating yourself in this restaurant seems pretty impossible. Just with how busy it is. Secondly, we fully checked in with the hostess, and were escorted to our table when it was ready. Somehow, he was finally able to confirm our reservation and told us that someone would be be with us soon to order. What he did not realize was that we had already ordered. This whole interaction felt very strange. Despite that, our food was very good. I wish they coursed out the offerings differently, because it did take quite some time to get the pasta and steak tapas. The burrata was so fresh and the potato tapa was the star of the show! I never expect special treatment of any kind, however, I always expect kindness and to be treated well no matter where I am dining. My friends and I were dressed well and were having a girls night, however, the interaction with the manager definitely put a weird vibe to the start of our night. I am still giving 5 stars because we had a great meal. I do not believe that the manager is a reflection of this restaurant and I know I will be dining here again soon! read more

Disappointing! Booked Spain and Wine bar for an after proposal celebration. Since we had 10 people (8 adults, 1 child and 1 infant) we were told we would have to email to make a reservation. Starting with the communication, we spoke with Krystle and communication was awful. She was slow to respond and I had to follow up multiple times just for a response. She finally confirmed that we would have a table by the water for 7pm for our event. When we got to the restaurant at 645pm i inquired at the hostess desk about putting up a "she said yes" sign as I was told that would be okay prior to booking. I was then told that our table wasn't ready and probably wouldn't be for another 20mins and that the restaurant could not "guarantee" a view of the water stating that Krystle was supposed to let me know that. The table was ready at around 720pm. I went to the table first and then called for the rest of our group to come upstairs since they waited in the lobby. When they got to the hostess stand and attempted to check in the hostess advised them he did not have our party on his list. We were squeezed into a tiny table on the back end of the restaurant (furthest from the water) and packed in like sardines. Don't get me wrong the place was beautiful and food was decent. The waitress that we had was also wonderful;however, after planning a nice celebration for a big event I expected better service. For that alone I'm leaving a 3 star review. If your planning a large event, I would consider a slower time or to insist on speaking to someone on the phone (not email) so the details could be clarified. If you want something specific for a big day I may even go a little early and speak to someone in charge to just make sure the restaurant is on the same page. Happy Yelping! read more

I am so glad we spotted the Spain Wine Bar Social Hour before the end of our week in Ocean City. You should know it is from 3-5 Tu-Th and Fri 2-5 at the bar. The bartender asked about food sensitivities and said the chef will adjust the sampler menu to accommodate. Although we didn't order it, we appreciated the opportunity to customize if needed. Happy hour included $8 sangria and cocktails, and bar snacks $6-14, and the view is amazing from the 8th floor of Cambria Hotel. There are a few spaces set aside for Spain Wine Bar, so park only in red marked spaces as the rest are hotel reserved. I liked the post that shared this tip with us, as parking at the beach (or bay) can be a problem at peak times. For snacks, we ordered the olives; forgot to take a picture but a generous portion of large and small black and green pungent olives, marinated in herbs and olive oil. Perfect. The Mussels, Empanadas and Garlic Shrimp were next. The Empanadas were light flaky fried pies, stuffed with ground beef and sauce. Perfect example of an empanada, and the red pepper sauce garnishing the plate was a nice accompaniment. The garlic shrimp were swimming in rich garlic laden olive oil, with bits of herbs and a couple of deadly little peppers. This dish didn't send me, although I certainly ate it all. The texture was good but the flavor was surprisingly bland. Finally the mussels in an amazing red sauce, so rich with roasted tomatoes and chorizo, it was hard not to spoon it directly. The chef really nailed this dish!!! We agreed this could be a double order next time, a delicious and good value find! I should have nibbled on almonds and sipped sangria all night, but alas we had to pack for departure from paradise. Bartender reluctantly cashed us out, and we lingered over the breathtaking view briefly before descending the elevators down. Good bye Ocean City, until next time! read more

We made a brunch reservation and the place was super busy. They have a bottomless brunch for $52 per person but that means your entire party must order bottomless option. If you do then you can eat like kings and explore the vast brunch menu. We chose to order the regular way and each ordered 2 -3 small plates and our bill was at $175 after tip. The place is beautiful and once you get on that roof you seem to Asend to another place. Service was provided by many and average in my opinion. Here is what we had over three dinners: - Cheese and Charcuterie Board with Drunken Goat cheese (mild flavor) and Jamon Serrano. It came with olives, apricot jam, and mixed nuts. We ran out of crackers and cheese quickly, so I would recommend getting two cheeses and extra bread. - Roasted Beet Salad - lots of cold beet chunks and sprinkled with Valdeon cheese (white cheese similar to feta), Great way start the visit - Short Rib Bocadillo - really loved this - it was short ribs on a lobster roll (no lobster) and the onions really made the flavors pop - Coffee Rubbed Pork Ribs - not spicy - Mmm mmm good! - Flank Steak with green chimichurri - tender and delicious. Spain Wine Bar certainly lived up to the hype. I've been dying to try it after hearing rave reviews, and it did not disappoint. The space itself is massive, and beautifully and intentionally designed. It's on the top floor of the hotel with a really stunning interior. We had a 9:00 PM reservation on a Saturday night. I highly recommend making a reservation in advance because this place was insanely crowded. Despite how busy it was, we were seated promptly right at the time of our reservation. The food and drinks were outstanding across the board. The steak was cooked perfectly and the Patatas Bravas were a favorite of mine. The cocktails and mocktails were excellent--the house Negroni was one of the best I've had. One thing worth noting: this is definitely a lively and loud space. Great for groups, celebrations, or an upbeat dinner night, but maybe not the best choice if you're looking for a quiet or intimate evening. Lastly, the staff were all incredibly warm, kind, quick, and hospitable. Even with how packed the restaurant was, service didn't feel chaotic or inattentive. First of all it's our favorite eatery in Ocean City MD. Having said that the food is varied and tasteful. I have two staples there. The first is the beet salad and the other is the Olive oil cake. In between that there's much too enjoy. The recent visit I had the flavorful sliders and my wife had the lamb chops which she said were delicious. You walk into the Cambria suites, questioning if it will be good but you walk in, and it's a vibey oasis, with amazing reggaeton music, and the food and drinks are perfection. It's a foodie tapas restaurant, so some foodie plays on the traditional Spanish tapas, like the Spanish tortilla. But they're delicious nevertheless! I would have given this review 5 stars if solely based on the food however needed to knock it down a few points for the service. We had a 7pm resy for 10 girls for a bachelorette party and were seated about 10 minutes late which was fine however after we sat it took another 30 mins for them to even bring us water or the two pitchers of sangria we had ordered immediately. We ordered a bunch of the tapas to split and the largest size paella. Since other people were bringing the food to our table though it felt like our waitress barely ever came back to check on us. When we were all finished the waitress brought the check over, we paid and then they brought out a dessert and a glass of champagne to celebrate our bride, a cute touch but I thought was funny that they dropped off 10 small plates assuming we were going to cut pieces of the tiny cake the gave us (enough for about a spoonful for each of us lol). This is when the service got troublesome. As our bride was finishing up her dessert the waitress comes back and tells us she forgot to add a few drinks we ordered to the bill (which again, we had already paid). However when she tells us this, she did not have a corrected bill with her, she walks away and says she'll be back. So now we're all finished and just waiting for her to come back. You'd think since it was her mistake for leaving the drinks off the bill she would either have the corrected bill ready for us when she told us or just comp the drinks since we already paid and we're getting ready to leave. Our waitress was nowhere in sight and we did not want to wait any longer so we left money on the table and left. On our way out the waitress saw us and said "oh don't worry about those drinks" to which we told her there was money on the table but overall just an odd situation. As for the food. Genuinely everything was delicious. The tapas style was fun although a little hard to split with such a large group but I did get to taste most of what we ordered. Would highly recommend the mussels, the shrimp balls, and the beef empanadas although I don't think you could go wrong with anything. And the paella was very very good. read more

Love it here! The food was delicious, we ordered 4 tapas to share between 2 people and were stuffed. Jose was a wonderful server and brought us a complimentary birthday dessert. The views of the water & sunset are incredible. It's all open too, so you can feel the breeze. Spain is unlike any other spot in OC! The only downside was we had an 8:15 reservation but weren't seated until 8:45. We hung out at bar seats while we waited and heard from other groups that they were waiting to be seated too, long after their reservation time. We found out that there was an event in the restaurant that led to the delays, however you would think they'd manage this better considering how nice of a restaurant it is. read more

Came into the Spain Wine bar to celebrate my boyfriend and I's anniversary which was on a Saturday. It was off season and I was so surprised to see the massive crowd waiting for tables outside the entrance of the restaurant. This restaurant is located on the top of the Cambria hotel. I heard it was popular, but even with a reservation we had to wait over 25 minutes to be sat at our table. And our table was a high top right in the bar area which was a little disappointing. It was up against a window that I'm sure would have given us an amazing view but it was already so dark outside. The interior of the restaurant was also extremely dim. Because of where we were sat it was extremely loud and I felt a little stuffed into the seat since there was a party of 5 directly behind me sitting. The menu is expansive. We obviously celebrated with a bottle of wine and our server Nina (I think that was her name) was very attentive and always made sure our glasses were filled. The bread was delicious and we decided on a couple tapas. It was hard to eat just because the table was tiny. The food was beautifully presented and came out staggered which was nice. The steak was great, the calamari was very standard. And the crab fritters tasted like a lot of filler.. our favorite was the mushroom and scallop risotto. I'm not a scallop girl but the risotto was cooked beautifully and had such a savory unique buttery flavor that I'm still thinking about! I'd come here again but 10000% please make a reservation!! The restaurant's view of the sunset from the eighth floor was breathtaking. I especially enjoyed the white sangria I ordered--it was very delicious and beautifully garnished with an orchid flower. I had the potato and flank steak; both were tasty, but the portions were quite small, more like snack-sized. One downside was the parking situation: the designated parking spaces for restaurant customers were not sufficient, and there were warning signs about the risk of towing if we parked in the hotel's blue lots. It took us about 20 minutes of driving around to finally find a place to park. Although the waitress was very kind and provided excellent service, the front desk staff was rather impolite. When I arrived, I mentioned my friend's first name and informed them that my friend was already sitting at the table waiting for me and my partner. However, I was not allowed to proceed to the dining area and was repeatedly asked to provide my friend's last name, who had booked the table, before being permitted to enter. I found this process unnecessary and uncomfortable, and it left me wondering if there may have been some bias in the way I was treated. I booked a reservation for 4 a day in advance (definitely recommend because it was busy). The restaurant is on the 8th floor of a hotel. We got a nice spot on the rooftop area during sunset. Started out with some drinks, I got a lime cocktail and my family got some red sangria (both delicious, but took about 15 mins to come out due to the rush of people). Then we placed tapas orders by the round and shared between us. Standouts for me were the crab dip, chicken lollipop, and calamari. The waitress was kind enough to recommend her favorite tapas because the menu was big, but everything we got was high quality and came out fairly quickly. Our waitress let us know that our tapas might come out at different times because they send them to the tables as soon as they're ready from the kitchen. This ensures that everything is as fresh as possible. We each ended up ordering 2 tapas each and shared one dessert and we were all SO full. I thought it was going to be crazy expensive, but it only was about $50 per person for drinks, food, and dessert. For the view, the service, and the quality of the food, $50 per person is a steal in my opinion. I would absolutely come back if I find myself in Ocean City again. read more

Spain Wine Bar is a rooftop tapas-style wine bar and restaurant. It's located on top of the Cambria Hotel on St. Louis Avenue in Ocean City. I love trying a variety of dishes, so tapas are always a favorite of mine, and this place absolutely delivered, meeting every imaginable expectation. The food was delicious, our server Milos was friendly and attentive throughout, and the dining area was beautiful, offering an incredible rooftop view of Isle of Wight Bay. We started with the crispy calamari served with a smoky chipotle aioli and a perfectly cooked flank steak complemented by a flavorful green chimichurri. Next, we tried the beef sliders, BBQ pork ribs, and butter lobster risotto. The sliders were juicy and packed with flavor, topped with Mahon cheese, tomato, caramelized onion, arugula, and garlic aioli. The ribs were coated in a rich chipotle BBQ sauce and practically melted in our mouths, while the risotto was creamy and indulgent, with generous chunks of fresh lobster. For our main, the "Large Experience," we split the Valencia, a Spanish paella featuring New York strip steak, chorizo, sausage, chicken, green beans, chickpeas, and garlic aioli. Easily the best paella I've ever had. For dessert, we shared the pistachio lava cake and olive oil cake. While it was the least impressive part of the meal, both desserts were still delightful and a perfect sweet finish. read more

Had reservations tonight for a birthday celebration for my spouse. Our reservation was at 6:45 but we got there a little early and ended up getting seated right our reservation time if not a few minutes early which was a great start considering how busy there were! We were seated on the rooftop and had a great view from our table. Immediately we were greeted and brought water and had our drink order taken. Our waitress explained the menu and we decided on all Tapas. The street corn is something I could eat for breakfast lunch and dinner every day so 10/10. The crab dip was delicious as well but not super strong crabby taste which made it about a 7/10 for me. I'm not a huge mushroom fan but I did have one and I enjoyed it a lot! The crispy calamari was a 10/10 as well and the chipotle aioli that came with it was the perfect pairing. The Gambas Al Alijo was also delicious! Perfect amount of seasoning. We also got the flank steak which was very good but we did ask for it to be cooked medium and it came out more well done than anything but still delicious! Came to Spain last year on vacation, and it was fantastic. Sat in the bar area at a high top, had excellent service, a great view, and a great time. Returning this year, I scheduled a reservation months in advance for 4 people at 7:00. We showed up at 6:50 to the host stand, checked in, informed the host it would only be two people and were told to wait a few minutes which is understandable as we were early. At 7:10, the host asked if we were part of a large group with a different name. I said no, my name, party of two. He stated my reservation now showed zero guests which was "impossible" in his words. We were assured it would be another few minutes. 7:15 we were taken to the very loud rooftop area and sat at a small table with an obstructed view. At 7:25 our server finally reached our table and apologized for the wait. She also informed us, that if we lied and said we had been celebrating something, or were first time guests, we would have been sat quicker and in a better section. Which aligns with the host asking every person they checked if they were celebrating anything. We each ordered 3 glass of wine, charcuterie, tapas, and a main all while the server was there for the first time. About 5-7 minutes later, my guest was served 2/3 glasses of the wine she ordered. 2 minutes later, her third glass arrived. Then our charcuterie arrived at 7:50. I still have no wine at this point and have been here for an hour, I was ready to walk out. My guest took it upon herself to ask the (different) server who delivered our charcuterie to assist with my wine order. He was very apologetic to us and nice, stating that was unacceptable; we agreed. He assured us my wine would arrive in the next minute or so as our server was making it now. During this time, there was a noticeable manager hovering around the open patio, slovenly dressed. He stopped at a 6 top near by to ask how everything was when they had nothing on their table. He must have walked past me with nothing in front of me 10 times within the first hour and had no clue. The rest of the meal was mostly without fault. The scallops were unevenly cooked and my guest spit hers (undercooked) into a napkin, while mine was overcooked, but edible. The shrimp in the paella was overcooked and had an off texture as well. The mussels in the paella were small and overcooked also. The calamari, carrots, and charcuterie were delightful though. Overall a pretty bad experience especially compared to last years stellar visit. I am strongly considering not returning in future. For a $500.00 dinner for two people(including a $90 tip), this was extremely unacceptable. We have spent FAR less at places where a jacket is required for men and received bending-over-backward service. I am extremely disappointed in my most recent visit. *Update, the Guest Relations Manager reached out and we have spoken. The restaurant is very apologetic about this experience and is striving to avoid incidents like this in future. I am very pleased with how they handled this after the fact. read more

We got there 10 min before the evening rush with 2 sleeping toddlers. The host hooked us up with seating with a phenomenal view. Absolutely stunning and we got to se dolphins swimming while we ate. The music was a vibe. Our waitress, Donna, was also very sweet and made good recommendations. The food was also really good. The tapas were all decent sizes for tapas. The small marisco paella was also a good size and very tasty. This restaurant definitely ranks higher in my list of OC restaurants. The only downside was they only have 4 bathroom stalls (unless there was another bathroom I missed). 2 were out of commission for whatever reason.
