I always forget about this little Gem. Honestly the best pizza in Manteca. Your toppings our the pizza, as it should be and the rest is just there to enhance the flavor such as the sauce and cheese. I've seen this place for years but never tried it. I thought I would give it a try today since I read all these glowing reviews. I have to say, I was not impressed at all. First impressions are everything and my first impression of the woman that took my phone order was awful. Very rude! She was short and snappy with me, and at the end of the call I said "thank you". The response I got was *click*. Nice. As for the food. It was okay. Honestly, nothing to rave over though. The only thing we really liked was the cheese. It had a really good flavor. Other than that, it was pretty blah. The crust was gross. Totally dry and cardboard like. I'm careful to bake the pizza within the correct time and I keep a constant eye on it so it doesn't get overdone or burned. This crust was terrible! It didn't even taste good. Other take and bake pizzas I've tried had a good flavor in the crust, but not this one. I don't think we will return since we felt that the pizza was pretty mediocre. read more

Very rude owner. I have been coming here for the last 15 years. Their pizza is good, I have know the owner for several years and her disrespect has gotten worst toward her customers. I try to be very Pleasant with her but now I think she's comfortable with me and speaks her mind. Yesterday she started using the F Word when I walked in to place my order. She's always stressed when you walk in and she has made comments that are very rude. I really like there pizza but why support a locate Business that make comments about people nationality. Yup. Horrible customer service. Place takes forever in making the pizza. Doesn't answer phones. Place needs upkeep as well, carpet or padding is nasty dirty. We have never been so we decided to look over the menus and the lady was rushing us and asking what we wanted. I started to customize my pizza and the cheese was on the list of toppings there were 3 types of cheese you could get I told her well I want mozzarella and she told me "okay every pizza comes with cheese obviously " I ignored it but was offended and then went on to say I wanted white sauce and she seemed offended and said why would you want that and rolled her eyes and said the best in the red . I tried calling 5 times on my way there from Tracy in traffic. Twice it was busy. Three times no one answered. I arrived and waited in lines behind one other person. The phone was ringing the whole time and no one answered it. The owner asked me if I had an order to pickup. Mind you, she DID NOT have a mask or gloves on. I said no, I tried calling but no one answered. She said "yeah, well..." and shook her hands at me. I must have looked confused so she continued, "I can't be everywhere at once!" Then she said that if I still wanted to place an order it was going to be at least an hour wait. I told her maybe she should pickup the phone and tell people that as I walked towards the door. I didn't hear her response, but she was yelling at me as I left. If you are that miserable running the place then just stop. Or, hire more help because she probably lost a lot of orders from me and others who couldn't get through on the phone tonight. I won't be trying again. read more

This is my preferred go-to whenever we want to take and bake pizza. The quality of ingredients is stellar, the sauce is super yummy, the dough is delicious! I love that this is a family owned and operated business. The female owner is very friendly, although I do see the stress of running a small business quite evident on her face. This place is very unassuming in a tiny, rundown looking strip mall. I'm not sure this is the tidiest store front I've ever been in, but the quality and taste of the pizza more than makes up for any shortcomings. This place is so good, I bought 2 pizzas (Guido's Supreme and Ultimate Pepperoni) for our Christmas dinner. I have a picky family with specific taste preferences, and yet the whole family loved them! Not a single slice was left over. It was SO good, we ordered 2 more pizzas for dinner the day after Christmas dinner. IT IS THAT GOOD. Prices aren't bad either. Finally tried this place. The prices are amazing, the pizza is delicious. We had the Garlic Chicken and a regular cheese pizza for the kid. Ingredients on the chicken were so fresh and perfection! The owners may have changed in the last 30 years but the freshness and quality of the product remains exceptional. The owner operator is polite, friendly, and professional. She takes great pride in producing quality in every pizza she passes across the counter. The pizza is made with more than an ample amount fresh vegetables, the crust, sauce and cheese are delicious. My kids and I were wanting some good pizza today but wanted to try something different. We were tired of some of the usual places so i jumped on yelp to check the reviews. I came across Big Guido's and read the reviews. We decided to give them a try, we drove to their location and I noticed that it was already 8:00PM and it was a Sunday. I thought darn we were too late, i opened the door and asked if they were closing. The lady inside said that she would make our pizza. I thought that was very nice of her. We ordered a Guido's combo and a Guido's meat large pizza. We hung out there and talked to the owner while she made our pies. She was a very nice lady. The pizzas looked so good once she was done making them. very generous with all the toppings. We got home and popped one of them into the oven and about 14 minutes later we had ourselves a piping hot fresh pizza. Now i have had take and bake from the papa Murphy's chain a long time ago and this beats them hands down. our pizzas were full of flavor and the dough was very good. If you don't want your crust too crispy don't cook your pizza to long, I cooked ours for about 15 to 16 minutes to a medium dark golden brown and it was crispy. We will definitely be going back for more! read more

I have lived in Manteca for over 11ys now, seen Guido's but just never stopped in. I usually go to one of those Papa places for pizza. I was blown away to say the least. The lady there is very friendly and explained how to cook the pizza, and what to expect. I noticed they were very generous with the toppings compared to other places, and it looked as if everything was being done fresh no frozen stuff. The Pizza taste has blown all others I've had away. If you've seen them but never stopped in I would recommend trying them. Update: I was in Sacramento and had a combo pizza from Tony Gemignani the Italy world cup pizza champion chef. It's amazing how close Guido's pizza is to this championship pizza. Very happy Guido's is in our town. read more

This place is our new favorite pizza joint. We don't even care that you have to bake it at home. It's loaded with toppings and comes out of the oven nice and crispy. Delish!!! Why the 3 stars? The lady who works there is unpleasant almost every time I come in. I don't expect over the top service but a smile and hello would be nice. One night, she simply turned off the phone, pardon, turned on the voicemail because "someone kept calling and calling"; however the voicemail is glitchy and choppy and hard to understand. Perhaps the phone was ringing with customers calling to phone in an order...this was well within business hours.
