Love Guitar Center, and am usually pleased with the service. On this particular occasion I walked in, intended to get prices and possibly purchase (depending on price) a complete Bose PA system, however, no one greeted me as I walked in and no one approached me. I even sat at a piano and started playing, still nothing. (by the way, you had other piped in music going on in the store, so I question how could a person consider trying out a guitar or a piano without the confusion). I walked over to the music books, nothing. No one said these magic words; "Can I help you" or "if you have any questions, let me know", etc. The interesting fact is they were not busy. Two other customers and three employees. Two behind the counter and one at a different counter I believe "fixing" a guitar. My problem is this: If you are a retail store, this means you are in business to sell product/s. I wouldn't be incorrect by stating the heartbeat of your business is sales. It's what keeps you open and thriving. Now, as a result, I may go to a local brick and mortar competitor or call Sweetwater to inquire about their products. This is a shame......

It's good to be home. The new digs are awesome.

Looked at guitars in the store for 15 minutes while the 3 employees behind the counter ignored us. Walked out.

That's also, for what it is worth, been my experience at Music City Buffalo. I went in there originally for voice and guitar lessons after getting frustrated with my lack of progress on my own. The lessons--particularly voice lessons with Carina, store owner Vince Mastrantonio's partner--were helpful, and built a relationship that made me trust them enough to buy instruments (people in the business can be kind of shady, and so this is important to me). Vince will work with you (within reason, of course) on prices, and I've now picked up three guitars from MCB. (If you are a Gretsch fan, there is hardly a reason to go anyplace else.) I've also had my upright bass set up there, picked up a used amp, have another guitar repair planned, and will be back for guitar lessons with Vince--an accomplished guitarist himself, which is always a bonus in a teacher--likely this summer. I've always been happy with the turnover, the pricing on purchases and repairs, and the quality of the work. We've also taken to seeing their three-piece jazz-noir band, Carina and the Six-string Preacher, around town. They're cool people who like engaging with the crowd, and I think that's a good way to sum up Music City Buffalo as well.

My first experience was over three years ago at a much smaller location during the holidays, but they had run out of cash and kindly suggested I come here instead. Even though some time had passed, I was still understandably nervous walking in -- especially since I was loaning a very special bracelet that my mom made for me, which holds both sentimental and financial value. I only needed a short-term loan to cover some bills, and from the moment I walked in, I immediately felt comfortable and at ease. Jen (Jennifer) helped me, and she was incredibly kind, patient, and professional. She made me feel secure throughout the entire process and explained everything clearly, even while she was training a new employee at the same time. The process was smooth, respectful, and stress-free. Today, I came back to pick up my bracelet. The store was busy and a bit overwhelming at first, but once again, Jen made me feel calm, welcomed, and well taken care of. While I don't plan on needing this service again anytime soon, it's very reassuring to know there's a place I can trust if I ever do. Thank you to Jen and the team at Buffalo Loan & Jewelry for such a positive experience. I would definitely recommend this location.

Ha! Then he said I'd have to make an appointment to get everything looked at. (After hemming and hawing around for half an hour) Why the Hell would he think I'd bring it back in after that big waste of my time and effort.
