Great Products, but if I had other options, I would choose to shop elsewhere. The staff comes across as very impersonal, and you can sense it as soon as walk in the door. After 45 days don't expect them to stand behind there products or help you with manufacturing warrantees, unless at the time of purchase your willing to pay an additional 30% percent for extended store warranties. read more

When we come here it's hit or miss. We shop for drums ,cymbals, basses ,guitars, and amps. At both buffalo guitar centers it's either we are pestered by salespeople or we have to go hunting for someone to answer questions or take our money. As of lately low inventory. Prices always seem fair Strangely the credit card processers always time out on my Amex express card at both locations. This has never happened before in 20 years of card usage. The staff at guitar center was very accommodating and were great to work with. I needed a string repaired on my daughter's guitar ASAP and the staff was incredible. I had the guitar back in less than 24 hours. I wish I knew the names of the individuals I worked with, because they deserve recognition. Overall, a great experience. read more

Walked in to buy a $5000 guitar I saw they had in stock on the internet. Walked in and went into their "platinum" area for Guitars in this price range. I was not going to spend that kind of money without playing the instrument. Waited for 15 minutes for someone to help me as all the guitars were locked and finally left. Love Guitar Center, and am usually pleased with the service. On this particular occasion I walked in, intended to get prices and possibly purchase (depending on price) a complete Bose PA system, however, no one greeted me as I walked in and no one approached me. I even sat at a piano and started playing, still nothing. (by the way, you had other piped in music going on in the store, so I question how could a person consider trying out a guitar or a piano without the confusion). I walked over to the music books, nothing. No one said these magic words; "Can I help you" or "if you have any questions, let me know", etc. The interesting fact is they were not busy. Two other customers and three employees. Two behind the counter and one at a different counter I believe "fixing" a guitar. My problem is this: If you are a retail store, this means you are in business to sell product/s. I wouldn't be incorrect by stating the heartbeat of your business is sales. It's what keeps you open and thriving. Now, as a result, I may go to a local brick and mortar competitor or call Sweetwater to inquire about their products. This is a shame...... read more

Yup. I like this Guitar Center. You can not define a Guitar Center by it's selection or decor, you measure it by the people working there. Though, if you're curious their selection will have plenty of American made Fenders, Gibsons, and PRS. Also a full complement of beginner gear for most instrument you're interested in (Sorry brass and orchestra your pickings WILL be slim.) And this location has got a solid crew. The only location around that has a Guitar Center Studio. It's a neat idea to have lesson plans that can follow you wherever you go so that you never have to miss a lesson should you be traveling a lot. I haven't tried it so i can't speak much of it, but now you know it's there. Okay, back to the crew. Everyone there is super knowledgeable and fun to talk to. Very open and if you put your cards out there they won't badger you or be too salesman-y. Maybe I'm at an advantage having been a customer of GC for years, but I'd like to think the people working there are just better than your average retailer. It's miles above the Boulevard location. Mainly, because it's a new location, as opposed to it's sister store, which has long been in need of an update. Come here, plug in, have fun, then buy something. If you want. No pressure. Wishful thinking and snobs? They don't like Trump and will spread false news about him at checkout as your card is approved. They apparently also disrespect Chinese products, which is weird because many online reviews I have noticed before writing this, claim they sell their products (keyboards for example). But they destroyed the wood on a guitar I took to them, installing parts over each other several times to the point that the wood was worn. The guitar functions exactly as it was when I brought it in and I am out over 200$. - So, I guess you could say they cover both sides of the political spectrum as the money comes in. It may be one of your only options for repair if you don't have a luthier, but your acoustic guitar can get worn if they don't like it. Everyone is busy, perhaps too busy and you will be used here. Eh this place is ok. It can be hit or miss for me. Customer service needs to be better. I was looking for stuff for my acoustic guitar and ukulele but I walked in there and nobody said anything to me. The guys behind the counter were talking to each other and ignoring the customers that walked in. They only talked to one person and I guess he's a regular there. Guitar Center is easily the biggest music store chain in America, and while they may be the closer to WalMart than a mom and pop shop, their customer service is miles ahead of your local Walmart super center. This location is the newest Guitar Center in the buffalo area and you can definitely tell. The selection is better and the staff is new but overall more eager to help. I never have an issue finding what I want and if I do, the store is small and well staffed, so finding someone is never an issue. The store is always stocked nicely and laid out logically. The selection might be a little smaller than the Niagara Falls Blvd location, but they seem to cover all of the bases and even have a few more high end instruments at this location. Given a choice between the two, this is definitely the better of the two Guitar Centers. It might not be a mom and pop shop, but the staff is fairly knowledgable and always ready to help. If you're in the market for some musical equipment, give this place a chance. read more

Went in to buy a guitar today and after not being greeted for over 30 minutes, decided to leave. To say that I was not greeted is putting it lightly. It felt more like I was being ignored. I'm relatively new to the Buffalo area. Never had this issue at any other guitar stores in Rochester. It's sad because they probably missed out on a $600+ sale. Came in with my boyfriend to pick out a PA system. We didn't get greeted, we got ignored when we asked for help, and when I asked, he looked at me and was like "ya ya ya I'll be right there" ... ten minutes later he's still talking to his friend. I have never once had a good experience here. Today was the last straw, won't be coming back. Products mislabeled with the wrong prices. Display models not in tune. Selection is awful. Shelves are disorganized and half empty. Save yourself some time and avoid this place. read more
