Jeremy is a guy who works here and causing me not to come back. I shop here a good bit buying band supplies, guitar items and repairs. Occasionally I sell something of mine online to help fund new purchases. Employees have always been helpful in helping me with a guitar shipping box that they throw away anyway. In the case when they don't save me one they've told me where to find them and when to check outside for them. I called and Jeremy refused to help me. I do a good bit of business here and I'm trying to recycle when you are throwing something away. Why give a customer a hard time? I think Ill just spend the funds at a different store and start shopping somewhere else. Just don't want to put up with this stiff. read more

People are just so ridiculous and unpatient these days. Recently purchased my guitar from Jon and the process was painless. Surprisingly pretty small guitar center--most things in Vegas are big, but this guitar center location is smaller than one I've been to in Pittsburgh. The guitar selection is ok, prices aren't totally out of line. Bass selection was pretty lackluster though--very few good basses and/or 5 and 6 string basses; most of what I saw were pretty mediocre, relatively cheap basses. Asked the rep in the guitar accessory department if they carried a specific product. He didn't know and said "just look it up online" very condescendingly. When I asked a follow up question, he walked away without answering. Giving two stars instead of one because a different employee who was nearby acknowledged how rude he was. I've gotten this $60 product before at GC and was prepared to have them order it and pay for it while I was in the store, but unfortunately the interaction never got that far. I finished up a project DIY guitar and brought it to Ron, the guitar luthier/ guitar tech for a fret level crown and polish. I was a bit worried since he said the neck needed to acclimate to have strings on it and advised putting heavy strings on it and let the neck correct its convex shape and to give it sometime. I came back a few more times but it still wasn't straight enough to do the fret leveling. And then finally last week he said it could be done. When I got it back the frets were level, smooth and the guitar has perfect normal/low action. Even the sides of the frets were smoothed out and there are no traces of scuffs from the file. My expectations were truly surpassed, the intonation was perfect as well. I would absolutely recommend this service to anyone. read more

Very disappointed in the service at this store. My husband came in to purchase a guitar and spent a considerable amount of time trying out various models. When he asked the very busy clerks (as they answered phones while customers waited at the counter) for a whammy bar, they snickered at each other as if they were sharing a private joke. One of them pulled a bar out of a drawer and handed it to my husband. It didn't fit but worked OK for testing so my husband decided to buy the guitar. The very busy clerk then told him they were "out" of whammy bars because employees had been passing them out indiscriminately. He was told he'd have to buy one to fit the new guitar. We left the store buying nothing. These guys are a joke. read more

Hands down, the best customer service I've received in recent memory. We went in to buy a specific make and model as a Christmas gift. We found the guitar we were looking for when Robin approached us and asked if we had any questions. We explained to Robin that the person we were buying the gift for was switching from acoustic to electric. That's when Robin explained they carry some guitars in a packaged deal with everything you need in one box, including the amp, cables, strap, case, etc. The savings is substantial when compared to buying everything invididually. The model we wanted did come in a package deal, but this location was out of them. Robin said he could order it and might be able to guarantee delivery before Christmas. Obviously, we wanted to make sure we had it before Christmas so I asked Robin if he could put together a makeshift package using the individual items. Robin cautioned it might get a little pricey, compared to the actual "package" deal, but said he would gather everything up give us an idea of what it would cost. The store was crawling with holiday shoppers. All of the employees were extremely knowledgable and made sure we were being helped. Robin continued to gather our items, all the while answering other customers questions and offering them assistance along the way without delaying us in any form or fashion. Besides, the store is loaded with lots of stuff to look at and play around with, so we were more than content pretending we were rock stars. Robin was able to put a package together for us, with better quality accessories and without breaking the bank. This actually worked out better because it encompasses more than one box, giving the illusion we bought multiple gifts! I love it when a plan comes together. It was great to have such a painless Christmas shopping experience. Hats off to Robin and the entire staff. Merry Christmas. read more

Absolutely horrific experience at Guitar Center. Went in to have an acoustic guitar tuned and one string fixed. A male customer service rep told me he refused to touch it. I asked why and he said the bridge was lifting. A male customer came over and said he didn't see anything wrong with it. I asked the rep where I should go and he said he didn't know and he again said "I'm not touching it". All I came there for was a quick string fix and tune. After getting the worst customer service of my life, I left and went over to the Family Music Center up the street. Within 10 minutes, the guitar string was replaced and it was tuned. I asked them if anything was wrong with the bridge. They said no and even had the owner come look at it and he confirmed there was nothing wrong with it. read more

Came in with my son's instrument. Cashier helped a woman who wasn't even in line before. I went to another cashier and instead of helping me they took another person who wasn't in line. When I finally got to the counter the cashier didn't tell me to hold on, he just walked away leaving me standing there. When I did receive assistance they said they didn't do instruments. Something that could have been said while I was waiting in line with a baby in a car seat and a sleeping 2 year old in arms. This place is a joke!!! Would never give this place business. I went in today. They had 3 pieces of gear used at a reasonable price. I let the associate know I was interested. It then took 20 minutes to get a manager to unlock the display case. Then as soon as it was open, the associate notified me that they are unable to sell the product until January due to having a police hold on it. Stood around in 3 different spots near cash registers .... totally ignored. This is the smaller Guitar Center in the Las Vegas area but still, it's worth your time. It has lots of choices to offer but not nearly as much as the one by the strip. You can still get your little problems fixed and get some new equipment while you're at it. The staff is friendly and the store is maintained well. They constantly get used gear in so it makes you want to come back to see what they got in next. It's a worthy stop if you don't want to go all the way across town but if you're looking for a certain item, I would check here but know that the other one would probably have it. read more

Just left guitar center and have to say that the first time I went there a few months ago I was very disappointed as I walked around for an hour and no one seemed to be bothered to help us and had I reviewed them after that visit I would have given them a one star review but this time it was much different due to the fact that a man named Lawrence approached us shortly after walking in and have us 5 star treatment. If any of the management in this store is reading this you need to take notes and get the rest of your staf on point with Lawrence as he is the best employee you have when it comes to customer service. Employees seem more knowledgeable than many places, but it's still a chain so they aren't "experts". Brought my guitar in to get some new strings and have it restrung. Chad took great care of me and the price was a steal. $24 got me strings and the service. He also dusted it out, polished it and adjusted the bridge for easier play. He did it so quick to it was just amazing! The staff are really dedicated and know their stuff. It had been a really long time since I had been there but glad to see things are still as great as they were when they opened. It is your go to for any musician. read more

It should be 4 or 5 stars based on the prices, sales, variety and availability of pre owned products. Problem is I've made my purchase and Im still waiting on customer service. .. the big issue is probably the commission structure. It forces some guys to literally lie to your face on what you're asking for and what you need versus them telling you what they think you need. Luckily I had all my research ready on my smartphone the true protector of the novice. And lucky for me one person that did offer honest customer service clocked in while the other "car sales" liar guy was going to lunch. So in fairness I did get customer service. We recently decided to let our child start piano lessons. Since we didn't want to spend a lot of money investing in a piano off the bat, we decided an electric keyboard would do for now. We went to Family Music Center in NLV and was disappointed in the small selection. So we decided to drive to GC to see what they had available. Guitar Center had a keyboard in stock for $100 less then what FMC was trying to sale it for! Needless to say we decided to shop here. We had a great sales person who was friendly and knowledgeable. (Not a "pushy" person trying to upgrade us to a better model). Overall we had a good experience with GC and would come back here. read more

I agree with many of the other reviews on here. There have been times where I've stood around for 15-20 minutes (not exaggerating) and still not acknowledged. Then there are times I need something quick and someone behind the register will just "multitask" and answer a quick question. I find it's some of the younger employees that are pretty good. Went in, was greeted immediately and the nice gentlemen went into the back and had it for me in literally 30 seconds.. the best part? 10 bucks cheaper than was advertised on GCdotCOM and that I was willing to pay. This place has really terrible customer service. I've dealt with a number of people and I've only had a good experience with the manager (which is why I give 3 stars instead of 2). The cashier made a mistake on my refund and then blamed me (the mistake took about 20 minutes to rectify) before pawning the error on another associate. I ended up having to defend myself and almost finish their work for them. Most of the employees are kind of condescending and not very attentive. Extremely poor customer service! I ordered a used set of Sabian Quiet Tone Cymbals that was listed as having 14" hi-hats, 16", 18" crashes and 20" ride. When the shipment arrived the 18" was not in the box (obviously it was not going to be shipped separately as there was plenty of room in this box). I called the store the same day I received my shipment to let them know, was told to call back in the a.m. the next day. I called the next day, was told someone would look into it and would call me, I called three hours later and was told it was still being worked on, I called another three hours later, was transferred to the drum dept. where someone took my # and I was told someone will call me. I know their employees are busy but it should not take all day for someone to take care of this, the cymbal is either IN the store somewhere and mistakenly not put in my shipment or they never had the 18" to begin with and it was mistakenly typed in the listing online. I even suggested they talk to the person who packed it in hopes they would verify my story that there was NOT an 18" in the box but was told they ship a lot of used stuff and that person would not specifically remember what was in MINE. Next I called the GC customer service #, they contacted this store and she was told to tell me to call back Monday and speak to the operations manager...absolutely ridiculous. I usually have used gear I buy from GC shipped to my local GC store so I can open the box in front of an employee in case there are any issues they can be a witness to the problem, the ONE time I accidentally had it shipped to my work address instead and there's a problem, even so, this is not being handled well at all by GC Las Vegas. read more

They may have some good quality instruments and other musical supplies, but I will never go again after my experience there. The problem started when I was called for a survey and I rated ONE aspect of the guitar adjustment service as 8 out of 10 because I had not had a detailed explanation of what was done to the instrument. Everything else was cool with me. Then a supervisor from Guitar Center left me a voicemail to complain about my rating, after which I got a very nasty voicemail from the man who had adjusted my guitar, which I will not repeat here, but it was abusive. I called the supervisor, who treated me like I had no brains and did not have a valid reason for my "poor" rating (Poor? 8 out of 10 is poor?). After that experience I can never pass by Guitar Center without shuddering. I thought they were never going to stop harassing me. read more

Guitar center!! you must be careful as you never know who your customers are!!! I have a electric piano that I purchased for the children that they are learning on and enjoying. The other day I brought a friends B.C. Rich guitar by the Guitar center to have some adjustments made. I was greeted by a very kind rep in the Guitar section. I was told that I would be attended to in a moment, however once the guitar repair man heard this, the guitar man said that we must check in the guitar?? after checking in the guitar I was told that I would receive a call soon after reviewing the guitar. The guitar repair man then said no he will have to wait until tomorrow sometime. I then decided to take my friends guitar to the guitar Dr. Bob. and had the best treatment and service ever. and the price was great from the Guitar Dr. Bob. I have let the local musicians 369 and others know about the outstanding service and treatment the guitar Dr. Bob delivers. read more

Not pleased. I needed to get some new drum heads for my church drum set. Prices weren't posted anywhere for all the different brands they had so we were looking for someone who could give us prices. The guy who worked in the drum section was so busy trying to make a sale, he didn't even notice we needed help. So we decided to just go to the main counter to check the prices and pay but there was only one guy working up there and it took super long with only 3 people ahead of us. read more

They both are able to assist in a time efficient manner and able to give educated opinions on every purchase. Bigger is not always better. The town square location is a lot bigger and has more of a selection but the Summerlin location is a lot closer to my house and these guys and gals go out of their way to help and advise on which gear is best for you. I have been a customer of Guitar Center since the 70's in LA and have spent thousands and thousands $$ through the years! and I recently been getting emails from GC offering a very fair deal on trading in equipment for new equipment. So I called 2 nights ago to enquire some info and when talking to the person in the drum shop he gave me an idea of what the trade in $ would be so I decided to bring in some high quality trades. A DW 9000 Hi Hat Stand -Pearl piccolo snare and a Great Condition vintage Zildjian 20" Jazz Ride -The stand and snare drum are in excellent top condition close to new-I drove over 25 miles to the W. Charleston location and the clerk was ok but the trade in amount was unfair and they didn't want the vintage cymbal. What business is this store in? Yes it is their prerogative to do business any way they want and it is mine to take my $$ somewhere else- I am not angry just disappointed !!!!!!!!!! read more

I guess if you really need something right now this place is as good as any but pricing is fixed. The manufacturer sets a minimum advertised price and GC sticks with it unless there is an ad from an authorized dealer with a lower price. Of course that's a catch 22 because the gear manufacturers have set minimum advertised price rules for the dealers. The store can sell it for less but they can't advertise it for less, therefore you can't typically find a better advertised price and they won't consider eBay music store ( legitimate authorized dealer with an eBay store too). I bought my item from an eBay store for $20 less, free shipping, and no tax. That's $35 less just in the price and tax. read more

Smaller than most Guitar Centers, this location still has a decent guitar selection, not so much for basses. The employees were friendly and kept to themselves, but if you wanted to talk to them they're pretty open even if they're working on a task. The prices are also a bit lower than the GC in town square, and it's a more easy going environment. Not bad, I stop by whenever I'm in the area. read more
