Ordered a sub woofer for 1200 bucks and pains the 120 for next day delivery. Placed order and the next day got a call from GC saying they received my order at the Summerlin store and that they only had a floor model that they could send out today to get I delivered the next day. Otherwise they would have to send a sub woofer from somewhere else and I would not get the next day delivery even though I paid for it. I asked if I could just come pick it up after I inspect the sub, because it is a floor model and that I won't have to pay shipping since it's down the street from my house and I can pick it up. He (I didn't get his name) called me back after checking with a manager a said ok. He said I would revive an email in the next few minutes and come in and say you have a pickup. I received email with no shipping discount and it a floor model discount. I went to the shop about 20 minutes late and they said it had been shipped out. Why did you tell me to come pick it up? The new email said it was shipped and would arrive tomorrow the 12th. But the tracking number said customerwantstopickupat132. I tried to explain to them at the store and by calling GC and they couldn't get it. They think it was shipped and it wasn't. I said I'm not going to get it tomorrow because you didn't ship it. Well I did not revive it and the tracking number doesn't work. Well I'm done with this crappy company. I spent 7l on new dj equipment and about to drop a bunch more, but it here. I will never shop this incompetent store or company again. You lost a good customer! The employees are completely spaced out and rude. I was right and You guys ate wrong again! Bye Felicia! Only reason they are getting 1 star is because the original man that helped us while we were buying our karaoke system was very nice. We get home and realize they sold us a system that was obviously previously returned because there was hairs in it and no manual. We couldn't figure out how to connect the microphones and based off a YouTube video we watched it was supposed to be a simple set up. Because we have no manual we were not able to set it up. We take the system back to this location and the 2nd employee (tall white man with long hair) to attend us was not helpful at all. We asked if he could simply help us connect the microphones since it's their fault they sold us one that was obviously already previously used. He said he did not have time. He could not take 5 mins (which mind you I saw him when we were first there just standing behind the counter). He said he wish he could help us because he knew how to connect them but he didn't have time. The time he spent telling us he didn't have time, he probably could've helped us just connect the microphones. I just left and didn't bother arguing with him because I'm not a Karen but this is pretty ridiculous. Way to go on your customer service Guitar Center. Spent $450 here just to get brushed off. The town square location was WAY more helpful and the employee even apologized for everything even though it was not his fault. He said we should've been given a new one from the start and even he would've been frustrated. read more

Well I just left there after waiting 30 minutes to be helped. They take forever to process one transaction, and one guy said "I'll be right with you", since I was next in line, but when he came back he went to help someone who had just gotten there!! 20 minutes later I found a Customer Service Manager and told her I needed help in speakers, and she said give her A MINUTE to help one of their employees and she'd be right with me. So after 10 more minutes of waiting for her I left in disgust. I don't know her name but she's the female customer service manager working on 11/11 at 2pm. I was prepared to spend up to $1400 on speakers if I found something good, but I guess that money will go to someone else. read more

Super quick service too, he was done in 10 minutes. I've also purchased a used ukulele at this location with with help of Jeremy and Joe, who later helped me pick out some picks and strap. I was gonna give em 2 stars, cause when I finally got help the employee was nice, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. Awful. Awful. Awful. I've been too guitar centers all across the nation. And I worked for the company for 4 years. I know GC well. When I'm in Vegas I usually go to Town Square and I should have. The easier commute was not worth it. It was damn near impossible to get help, the store is set up very poorly, it even kinda smelled weird. I gave up on trying to get help on the guitar, went to pro audio, the dude was so zoinked out of his brains that he didn't even know what I was talking about. He was confused. I WAS SHOPPING FOR EAR PLUGS. Why does he work here? So I finally get help at the Accessories counter after being ignored for a while. It was kinda busy, but one it doesn't take 2 people to buy in gear, and two no one would even acknowledge me. Not even a "be right with you". Once I get help, tell them what I need, they see they have them in stock. But they were in the shipment in the back. They just wouldn't go get them though???? Like I used to do this. It's so easy to go back there, grab them out of the box, bring them to the floor. I used to do this for my customers ALL THE TIME. So I didn't even get what I needed after all that. If you're in Vegas and you need GC, go to Town Square. It's way nicer, people are helpful., and it's ran better. This place is awful. I don't think I've ever had a worse GC experience. Ever. I am very impressed with Alan M. I was waiting for Bryan, the manager, and Alan walked up to me to ask what happened. I showed him some marks on my guitar I found after picking it up from repair. He was super nice and assured me they would find a solution. Bryan came over and took a look, and then he polished my guitar, now it looks as good as new! I have a love hate relationship with my local Guitar Center on W Charleston Blvd, Las Vegas. I love the fact that I can get all my favorite brands, they have good coupons, ship to store options, layaway... But I hate the fact that I can be in the store for 30 minutes and no one even says hi to me? There is never anyone working in the drum department. The last time I was there I saw a guy grab a box and steal an instrument completely unnoticed by anyone. They are always understaffed and trying to buy something is challenging. You walk around wondering where to pay? Finally I just give up. Put the stuff back and leave. I hope they can get their act together at that store because I hate to see the stuff I've been seeing there lately. I'd be spending twice as much there if they ran it like it should be. read more

They had a guitar on sale, I bought It with a few other things, the next day I checked the receipt and they didn't give me the sale price so I drove back to the store and they recognized their mistake but said they couldn't do anything because "the manager wasn't there" so they told me to go back during a week day, any week day, so I drove again on Friday and they said the manager is only there from 9 to 5 or something like that, so I'm not driving there again, it's simple really, you charge someone for the wrong price so you give them a refund for the amount they charged you right? They had all the information they needed so why not just give me the refund???? Well it's clearly something really complicated for this guitar center, so thank you for being incompetent and failing to do such a simple thing, I guess it's also my fault for not checking the receipt from right after I made my purchase but I was just trusting their ability to do their job, so keep the $70 I don't want to drive another 20 minutes and I would advise anyone to avoid this location. read more

I had a broken wire in my sons bass and took it in and asked where I should solder it. They showed me and told me that I needed to move another wire because it had originally been wired incorrectly. They could have been jerks and made me pay for service. They were cool and helpful. I came right home and resoldered the pot correctly and we are happy campers. My neighborhood Guitar Center, and it feels just like a neighborhood store. The selection is a bit smaller, but with a smaller store comes friendlier, more attentive service. I have also found that the staff here is a bit more seasoned and knowledgeable, and they have less attitude than some other locations. They are definitely not high pressure. Most recently, I stopped in because I was considering purchasing the Traktor Kontrol S2 as an upgrade to the current controller and software I use. I was a little hesitant, and the guy helping me actually said if I was concerned, then maybe I should just stick with the system I was comfortable with. I appreciated the advice and went home to think some more. An hour later I was back in the store and heading home with my new toy. I decided I was up for the challenge! Like all of our (my husband has bought other sound equipment here) purchases, it was easy, and the staff was easygoing and kind, even a tad humorous. This is one of the smaller Guitar Centers I've been to so sometimes they don't have always the stock. However, they have great customer service. The BF and I have just been helped in every section of the store and people have always been nice, helpful. People are patient and thorough about questions. In the electronic section we seem to meet eclectic people working here who do DJing or involved in music around town. It's fun to meet other music people and cool to be invited to events we didn't even know occurred or given CDs. I like that GC does price matching and it's not too far from the house so it's not a big deal if we leave empty handed. We enjoy coming here though because the people are pleasant and interesting. read more

I recently took a trip on my RV and forgot my guitar. I was thinking how nice it would be to have a second one just to keep for when I travel. I swear as I was thinking this I passed by this location of Guitar Center. I walked in and wow this was the start of some terrible customer service. As I come in I see two employees standing by the acoustic room and they were talking to a person that appeared to be a friend. I try to get in to the room but they wont move and just look at me. I then say excuse me and they looked at me like it was an inconvenience and then they move out of the way. I go into the acoustic room and look around, no one even bothered to come in and help me so I go to the counter where an older gentleman is working and ask for help. He tells me that he is helping another customer but will find someone (the whole time he is helping the other customer he is complaining about the new ceo and management and how the company is being ran). He calls for some guy to help me, who happens to be the one that was chit chatting with a friend and the guy comes over and has a total attitude. I tell him I am looking for a particular model, when the old guy pipes in and says, yeah we have a lot of those, I saw them today. The younger guy takes of and 15 minutes later says someone in back says we don't carry that but we have another one (UPSELL). I was like see ya at this point I was so frustrated with this store, I didn't want anything to do with them. read more

This location has gotten even worse, to be fair the Manager that used to be at this location actually knew what they were doing, he has since moved on to the Las Vegas strip location and he should so he can make more money. I used to work in a Guitar Store (Not a store like Sam Ash or Guitar Center with corporate bean counters but a real high-end musical instrument store) so I would like to think I know a thing or two about the business. The new manager can't even manage his way out of a paper bag, I see tons of displays not set up correctly or even turned on now where as before everything was fully functioning. I can't see this location lasting that much longer, Anyway my friend and I stop in, we play some ELECTRONIC DRUMS, mind you not acoustic drums, and the door greeter rushes over and tells us to TURN IT DOWN. (BTW this is the lowest paid position in the store, you only make minimum wage as you're not selling anything, it's very had to make anything past minimum wage working at GC unless you're a manager) We did not fiddle with any of the knobs on the amplifiers or drums, they were already set like that and they weren't even loud. If it was too loud, the staff should have already have set the volume of the amplifiers. Anyway later, we are legitimately shopping for a guitar amplifier for my friend. We walk into the sound proofed room and checked out the used gear. Usually I wouldn't buy anything from guitar center as it's usually mass market crap but GC's used gear is priced to compete with eBay. Anyway we try out a used boutique amplifier priced at around $2,000 completely ready to drop that amount of money on the amplifier. I turn it up all the way as we would actually like to hear what the amplifier sounds like, tube guitar amplfiers only sound good at loud volumes due to a phenomenon called power tube distortion. Anyway i'm messing with all of the functions on the amplifier and then again door greeter man rushes in to tell us to turn it down. Now he didn't even ask if we were interested in purchasing the amplifier or even asked nicely. We ended up walking out of the store. From working at a music store I except to be treated a certain way and that is not acceptable. To be fair the door greeter was probably only working there for a week as Guitar Center has very high turnover. read more

We did our research ahead of time and knew what we wanted when we went in. Only one major problem. We saw literally one person with a name tag on working the entire store. After standing in a check out line for a half hour to try and get someone to help us purchase a keyboard we never even saw someone at the register. I've gone to this store a few times and it always seems to amaze me the lack of customer service. I went there today with my Gear Card fully paid off and extra cash looking to purchase a keyboard because I want to learn piano. There were no other customers in the keyboard area and a store representative behind the counter yet he did not ask if I needed any assistance. I even walked up towards the counter and he never even looked up. I walked out without spending a penny. Looks like hundreds of dollars in sales lost for Guitar Center and probably more since I usually buy something pay off card and then buy something else. Synchrony also won't make the interest from my account anymore since I'm probably just not going to use my card anymore. I just don't understand why this store is so bad at customer service. Sacramento store I used to shop at was amazing compared to this. I really wish you guys would do something about this store. Yelp reviews are 3 stars average and most 1 star reviews are about customer service... Free beginner guitar lessons every Saturday at 10am!! I am writing this specifically to tell the world that my opinion on Guitar Center has been greatly improved by recent visits to this location. On this particular visit, I was going in to get a guitar stand and to show my wife some of the intro size guitar that our daughter could play. I was given assistance on finding exactly what I asked for, and left alone one we said that we were just looking to plan a future purchase. Then, at check out, I WAS NOT asked for my phone number. I have been shopping in these stores for 10 years. I have worked in them. The WORST part is that you are asked to provide personal information, associated with a phone number, for their marketing purposes. This goes for buying a $3000 guitar (in which case, you should for warranty purposes) or buying a pack of picks for $3, which you would never try to return. When I was visibly shocked, the cashier said "we stopped asking for info on small purchases. It seems to make people much happier." You're GD right it does!! I will now go to this location over Sam Ash for my regular purchases, such as strings and accessories. Note: Always get your larger purchases from independent stores. There is more flexibility on prices, variety in options, and better support after your purchase. read more

Proaudio had some cool used gear... this store has so many different midi controllers it's not even funny... I went into the dj room and their demos were cool. But the keyboard room had just crap. Becides the korg ms board. They had absolutely no synths. And the couple they do have are ehhh... ok I guess. They sell moog they sell Waldorf and many other brands. But they had nothing worth it's weight at all. What a let down.. The workers are more into making their "gp" commission than helping their customers... I still choose GC over Sam Ash Music. But still. It's just bad... it's like they don't sell anything.. so the sales guys are desperate. And the guy who is ableton certified. Makes sure he let's everyone know. All the time. Come on man. I purchased a Taylor guitar at this location a while back. It has become difficult to play and needs some adjustments. Dropped it off with Von the guitar tech in February. Here it is late June and not only is it not repaired, this guy has not returned one call from me in all that time. Absolutely zero customer service at this store. Picked it up today and the guy said he didn't know anything at all about their customer service because he'd not been at that location for long. I own a business and would not dare treat my customers this way. Very disappointing. read more

This place, and it's staff, can kiss my you know what... I called looking for a "reed" for an "oboe". I have no clue what this is, I just know my step kid needs one for his band class. The kid that answered phone immediately says they have them in stock, so I begin my roughly 12 mile trek from Rhodes Ranch to this location at Durango and Charleston. I finally arrive and there is a little kiosk with a kid sitting there apparently directing traffic. I ask for the "oboe reed's" and he points to a rack and says "I think they are over there". After 5 minutes of searching in front of a counter of two employees, one a Dave Navarro look-a-like, I finally approach them and ask for the location of the mystical reeds. They respond with nothing more than "ask accessories" and point to the other side of the store. AhhhK.... I walk to accessories, ask again for reeds, and without missing a beat, they point back to the two clowns I had just spoke with. I immediately exited, vowing never to return. They mystical oboe was found online, next day delivery. read more

The people here don't even know what they are selling. You come in with questions about items found in their website and they look at you like if you are talking another language. Come on, if the webpage displays as available in store, then the sales associates should have an idea. Also they should work on being attentive to their customers. Didn't know that you can rent out speakers from GC till we came from out of town and asked about it but you must return to the same store

Not a lot to say. In and out really quick for a couple guitar wall hangers. Pretty tough to say a lot about this place, so it's tough to give it a real good or bad rating. I'm not a guitar player and haven't played my saxophone or the piano since high school. Service seemed friendly, the host girl at the front door was nice and told us where to find what we came in looking for. The guy that helped us was friendly and checked us out quickly and the prices were comparable to what we could have got shipped to us from an online store. Compared to other guitar centers in the country, this one lacks depth in electric guitars. Major brands include Gibson, Fender and Ibanez. Sure, you can find some Ernie Balls, PRS, and whatnot. The thing that really bothers me about this GC is that there are only a few high-end models. For example, you CANNOT find a single Ibanez Prestige, there are only 1-2 Jems, 1-2 JP musicman, 1-2 Axis. I would say that most models are mid-range with a few standouts. The store does have some very nice amps and recording gear. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. Just left there after waiting for 45 minutes with NO HELP. Several people were complaining to the manager about the lack of staff and he had excuse after excuse. HE should have offered to help. Instead, he was too busy strolling through the store in his black suit, trying to look important. What pisses me off the most is, we almost bought what we needed on amazon, but made the choice to drive across town to support a business in our city. Had an awesome experience here! I wasn't bombarded when I walked in (it was a bit overwhelming as a beginner) I roamed around for a bit and someone asked if I needed help. I declined as I was just browsing. (I wanted to navigate on my own) lol when I was finished shopping, the gentlemen at the counter was so sweet and nice! Gave me some helpful tips at teaching myself guitar and said if I wanted any help to just call the store and someone there would be able to guide me through any questions I may have. When I sat down to write this review, I was really surprised to see only 3 stars, overall, for this GC location. I agree with the rating for the Guitar Center on Las Vegas Blvd, but the one in Summerlin is TOPS! I've been a Guitar Center customer since the 80's. I have always gotten treated well (pre- and post-buyout). Trevor is my go-to guy on the sales floor. He's very professional but in a cool, down-to-earth way. He knows his equipment and is an all-around great face for the store! Von is my guitar tech 4 life! Not only is he a GREAT guitar tech, he's always open to answering questions and discussing gear/components for upgrades, but does it without making you feel stupid. LOVE this store! I waited in line for a good 15 just to be told to wait in another one. Then waited another 20 why he just talked and hung out when I've been waiting. Jeremy is a guy who works here and causing me not to come back. I shop here a good bit buying band supplies, guitar items and repairs. Occasionally I sell something of mine online to help fund new purchases. Employees have always been helpful in helping me with a guitar shipping box that they throw away anyway. In the case when they don't save me one they've told me where to find them and when to check outside for them. I called and Jeremy refused to help me. I do a good bit of business here and I'm trying to recycle when you are throwing something away. Why give a customer a hard time? I think Ill just spend the funds at a different store and start shopping somewhere else. Just don't want to put up with this stiff. read more
