GC Las Vegas is my favorite Las Vegas music gear store by far. Probably my favorite place to shop. They are always knowledgeable, helpful and pleasant when I'm in. They have a great selection on most brands in store so you can usually find something that will satisfy your your musical needs and to your liking ..plus they encourage you to take your favorites out for a spin so you can fall in love and purchase on the spot..If you like vintage, are maybe a collector, or just appreciate beautiful guitars in general, check out their show vault . They also have nice repair shop that did fabulous work repairing damage on an older antique acoustic of mine. Thanks guys! read more

Absolutely the worst customer service. My guitar has been there for over a month to get new strings. Never have called about the status or apologized for the delay. The manager can give a crap also. Call the number, nobody ever answers and when it runs out of rings I hear, "I'm sorry, the number you are calling has a voicemail system that has not been set up yet," I had to drive there, was ignored on entry, the listened to the phone ring 12 times with all employees ignoring it. Went into this guitar center with low expectations, expecting to spend a fortune. Came out with a heck of a deal and a piano I'm itching to try out. I was helped by Tyler, and though he was busy as ever ! Still managed to get to me in an orderly fashion and help me out. He price matched my piano and even offered me a sentiment for waiting. I had a pleasant experience and would recommend this store to any friends or family. 10/10 read more

No more Guitar Center for me! I have spent an embarrassing amount of money on guitars at Guitar Center Just ask my family! Today in this Vegas heat, guitar center on Charleston made us stand in line outside for 20 minutes or more. When I asked the manager for water or a place just inside the door to wait (because of social distancing no more than one at a time in the acoustic room) he said no there's nothing he could do. I was auto charged for guitar lessons for my son. My family got Covid so I called to cancel and be refunded for the future lessons. I was told lessons are non refundable. I asked to speak to the store manager Eric Koch who was too busy to speak to me and took a message....... No call back so I called the next day still too busy.....so I called the customer service number on the website they said they would reach out to the store and I would get a call back.......2 days no call. So I did an online chat with customer service (screenshots below) they told me they could not help to call the store. Who is unavailable. Literally just charged me in advance and kept my money with no service used and no one will even call me back or help. Worst customer service I have ever had at any store. read more

The staff and customers at Guitar Center are so helpful and friendly. Honestly. I stepped and saw all the instruments easily at my disposal to play with and I was like a child in the candy store. I wanted to try everything but I couldn't. I was on a lunch break with limited time and was there to pick up a piano I had ordered online. I bought a used Casio Privia that was in good condition. There were a few small cosmetic bruises but it plays and it's for my 7 yr old so it'll do. The workers there were very communicative and aware of everyone in the store. They greeted everyone and asked anyone standing around if they needed help. Their customer service was on point. They even brought out the piano to my car for me. Hey I'm 5'1" and that piano was a 88 key electrical piano. Not a small thing to carry for me. read more

They would not email me records of past purchases unless it came directly from that store , which is not true all records are pulled up nation wide as long as you have an account. They wouldn't even try to pull it up. Then they proceeded to hang up on me. Guitar center has went down hill. The last few times I've been there the employees are under educated about any of there products in the store. They have no idea what their return policy is or isn't. You know your with the right person when others come in and literally wait for him because they only want Henry's help. I was at guitar center today wanting to purchase an acoustic guitar.. the manager said I could only play for a few minutes. Huh? I said. How do I know if I want a guitar or not if I can only play it for a short amount of time? Especially if it's over 2000 usd. The store was empty. I was in a room by myself. There was no reason for him to limit my time with a potential buy. I think the guy was being a jerk. In fact I know he was. It's typical of how I get treated at guitar center. I'm a construction worker. I wear jeans and a tee shirt. I feel like he was treating me like a homeless person... Very arrogant and rude.. so marched my broke ass over to good ol Sam Ash.. and dropped 1840 usd on a brand new Martin D 16e. Rosewood. The customer service at this location was bad from start to finish. So much so, that it made the experience of purchasing a guitar for our son horrible. Initially upon entering the store, one employee was nice but did not ask anything about what he might need to start off as a beginner or even make suggestions. Then that first person said he needs to go on his lunch break and his coworker would help. She never came and we looked for someone else. After deciding what we wanted, we were looking at a stand for a guitar. Asked another clerk if he could help with some questions and he said " what about the stands?" As if we are a bother? I said "never mind". Then upon making our purchase, we asked if the guitar was tuned, which we were first told it would be, only to be told it wasn't? I have experienced both excellent customer service as well as bad, this definitely falls into the bad! We are customers spending a lot of money at a business, you would hope that their service would be exceptional. I can't speak on any other location but if you plan on going here, perhaps driving further would be a better option. read more

Dylan was a great big help! (I hope I'm spelling his name right). So yesterday I walked inside and was pretty much ignored by the guy at the register. I even stood by him hoping to get some help... But he didn't... Even though I was one of the only customers in the store... I walked into another section of the store where they sell microphones and a finely dressed black gentlemen helped me find Dylan (who was most likely finishing up from his break). The finely dressed gentlemen (I think he had longer hair) was also extremely sweet and helpful. I wish I got his name. Anyway, I picked out my guitar to purchase with Dylan (the other sales associate finally noticed me then and was probably disappointed about missing out on the commission lol). Dylan was a total gem overall and made great conversation. He even tuned my guitar for me before I left. I'll only be purchasing with him from now on. I was on a mission to find a karaoke machine. Why I was chosen to do this task when I don't karaoke is beyond me...not all Asians karaoke! I'll do anybody's math homework any day but I WILL NOT SING KARAOKE!!! I called around other stores first to see if they have what I was looking for and every store I called claimed they have karaoke machines/speaker systems. I drove from one end of the city to the opposite end just to get disappointed. My last stop was Guitar Center. I thought I heard angels singing...but alas, it was Joey Ramone! They have products in the center of the main room and they also have products in several other rooms. Acoustic guitars, electric guitars, drum sets, keyboards, etc...I didn't notice if they had sitars. Not only did I find a speaker system but it was also on sale! A nice gentleman carried it to my car for me -not that I needed help. I lift bro, I lift. I got home opened the box but the mic wasn't there so I called the store and was told to go ahead and come back so they can give me my mic. That's what I did and it was a painless transaction. read more

GC has a GIANT flagship store near the Airport. This one is smaller than avg. 20 min north. More intimate & you won't have to deal w/ a dozen "Shredders" filling a cavernous box w/ butchered licks at Vol 10. Post COVID they have a huge selection of new & used again. Small quiet vintage room. Comfortable size accoustic room, + Drums, Keyboard, DJ etc. If ur in LV, I highly recommend a visit, it's well worth the time. Hell, go to both, but go to the SUMMERLIN store 1st. Troy is cool, & Jason is an awesome Mgr ( & I've been to dozens of GC's for 40 yrs ). Jason last week fixed an issue ( another Mgr blew me off about ), when he didn't have to. Top notch. PS - Sam Ash in LV, sorry to say is kindofa snoozer. Sunday night crew just wanted to close and didn't want to bother to build a custom piano bundle for a customer in order to get the sale (I don't blame them entirely, as I overheard what sounded like a terrible customer inside causing problems just before closing). After calling other locations and finding only this one had the piano I was looking for, I returned today(Monday 03/11) and met with one the best sales associates with great customer service! NAJEE! Najee was quick to help and found out they sell the exact stand that the bundle comes with so he offered to build the bundle separately so I could leave that day with the items I wanted. Not only was he great to deal with, but he also offered to match the price of the bundle! To sum it up, It's incredible how much customer service has an effect on a company and the perception of that company through the eyes of the customer. Sunday night was a bad experience. Monday morning completely turned this experience around because of Najee and the help he offered. A good experience at a business is a reflection of the customer service you are provided with. I have to say that I was definitely impressed with this guitar center but the husband had a few more disappointments. I have not been to any others in Vegas so I was a little overwhelmed with the selection of guitars and other instruments. My husband had a few things in mind that he was looking for that this particular guitar center didn't have in stock. The customer service here was unreal. It seemed as though every time we turned around another employee was asking us if we needed something or just started a friendly conversation. Everyone we talked to seemed very knowledgeable about what was in stock and I certainly thought they knew what they were talking about. My little girl was instantly impressed by the child sized pink electric guitar they had. Oh guitar center...I think you did this to every parent of a little girl under the age of 10 just to get us trapped in the store a little longer. Unfortunately the selection of left handed guitars was lacking and there wasn't any child sized left handed guitars. But one employee didn't hesitate to get online and try to find a pink child sized left handed guitar and he was able to give us several options. So that deserves 5 stars just for the effort. My husband purchased an amp and a couple of Gibson guitars. If you purchase a used guitar, it has to stay in the store for 30 days. There was some trouble finding the guitar when my husband went to pick it up because they failed to file it under his name but after some searching, he was able to leave the store a happy guy with guitar in tow. The prices were a little high but to be able to walk away with exactly what we wanted, it was well worth it. read more

Stopped in yesterday to replace a cable for karaoke equipment. This was a quick and painless transaction. The kid who helped us knew exactly what we needed, and the replacement was free. (because of the brand: lifetime guarantee.) While my fella took care of that, I wandered around a bit. They have a good selection of guitars, keyboards, and a handful of other instruments. They have a handful of goblet drums (Arabic drums), but have them labeled as "doumbek" which makes me laugh. (Doumbek is not the correct term for the drum, its either a Tabla or a Derbekki) I do like that they sell them, though, as I've been in the market for one recently. I'd come back again. I'd like to see a bigger selection of piano music, but, beggars can't be choosers. Their selection isn't as good as the Town Square store, but its ok. read more

First of all, do not be afraid to purchase anything from Guitar Center.com and worry that you will be hassled if you return it at a physical location. These guys were great. I purchased a pair of speakers online but did not like the way they sounded. I decided to return them and was concerned that it would be like trying to return something at Best Buy where they do everything in their power to say no. YOU WANNA MELT SOME FACES? THIS PLACE WILL HELP YOU MELT SOME FACES. I've been to quite a few Guitar Centers in my time and this has to be the coolest one. As with the others, this place is stocked full of guitars, drums, keyboards, amps, electronic and stage gear, and all sorts of musical paraphernalia. What sets this GC apart is the fact that the staff is very laid back and also very helpful when necessary. Many of the other GC's have employees that will flat out hover over customers, whereas at this location the employees are simply present and available when needed. If you want to take an axe off the wall and strum away the employees will hand you a pick, show you where the cables are, and let you have at it. I can't stress enough how cool the vibe is at this particular location no matter which musical section you are in. The selection here for guitars at least is pretty decent, but they are of course lacking certain brands and models. For these, orders can be made online through their website which is a plus. read more

My kid plays guitar, lives guitar, breathes guitar, almost certainly dreams guitar so this is a regular stop. We have bought most of the collection from here or a larger sister store in SLC. The selection is fantastic, high end right the way down to budget. A wonderful humidified room with the best acoustics is our favorite part of the store and helpful staff have guided us through each and every major purchase. There is a place in the store with accessories so if you want a string or a few picks, it's all there. My biggest surprise on my first of many visits was the extraordinary selection of other instruments, drums, wind, electronics and so forth. Like music? They have almost all the acoustic guitars locked if it's above 200 it'll be locked so there's very few guitar you can test and play, I understand why the very expensive ones are but why the cheap ones? It's as if the staff don't want the customers to play their guitars. I was on the market for a 12 string guitar and stop by a few times, at first all the 12 strings were not locked until my fourth visit, in which already some of the staff members already knew me because I would hang out in there for about an hour. So I come in and see that all of the 12 strings are locked and almost all of their acoustic guitars are locked, and they can't complain I don't buy anything because I bought an acoustic guitar on my third visit and for my fourth I was gonna get that 12 string. read more

I purchased a used guitar just yesterday. YaY, right? No. :( When I played the guitar in the shop and reserved it a month ago (pawn law required that the guitar stayed in the store for 30 days, but it was taken off of the sales floor), it seemed to be in working condition: all electronics, tuning mechanisms, no fret buzzing. When I got it home yesterday and started playing it I discovered that now there is a pronounced fret-buzz, the neck pick-up isn't working, the pick-up toggle is quirky, 1 tone and 1 volume knob slip, it has scratchy pot syndrome, and possibly an input jack issue. In retrospect, I should have realized that no tech examined this guitar; it was so dusty. The problem is that when I called to inquire about this, there was almost a total lack of customer service. It almost seemed that this guy (Joseph) was laughing at me for getting taken and blaming me, saying that's how it is. Instead of apologizing or sympathizing with a paying customer, I was made to feel like I should just expect to buy garbage and to be treated like garbage for buying it. No self-respecting tech or salesperson would sign off on the quality of care, craftmanship, or service that I've received. It's completely unprofessional, but I guess that's par for the course with Guitar Center - high turnover of a staff of unprofessional salespeople and guitar techs. So far, they're doing nothing to 'make it right'. There is no way a tech spent any time examining the guitar or if one did, something happened to it after while in storage. Thankfully, Topaz Guitars is the best tech in town. read more

I have been a customer of guitar center for many years, however they have finally tipped the iceberg with utterly terrible service. A year ago, I ordered a Gretsch Streamliner, and what did they send me? A Schecter. They sent me the wrong guitar, and did I get any compensation? No. While I don't expect compensation, I felt as though I was deserving of it. My most recent issue is the real kicker, and was at the West Charleston location in Las Vegas: I ordered a Gretsch Rancher Falcon acoustic guitar online. It arrives, and something is immediately not right. The guitar doesn't play correctly and sounds strange. I wait a while to bring it in to have replaced / repaired but it is still under the Gretsch two-year warranty. When I do bring it in, they take it, and weeks go by with no word. Finally, I get a call, and they forgot they even had it. Another week goes by, and they claim that they just simply won't fix it because "Fender said so" (Fender owns Gretsch guitars). I had a suspicion they weren't being truthful as I know Guitar Center's reputation for lying is rather appalling. I call Fender customer service, and what do they say? Amazingly, they say my issue with the guitar was within the requirements of the warranty and we're happy to help me. I go to pick up my guitar and I'm waiting five minutes, then 10 minutes, then 15 until an employee finally appears. They say they'll help me shortly, but disappears for another five minutes. Keep in mind there is only four or five other people in the store. He finally comes up to me and I tell him I'll need help getting my sales information for the guitar I ordered. He tells me "I don't know if I can help you, i'm busy". Completely unprofessional but nevertheless, I get my guitar back and my sales information. At the West Charleston Guitar Center location specifically, they really hate helping people. They don't want to deal with doing their job, so they don't bother. Don't go to this location, or any Guitar Center for that matter. Do yourself a favor folks and go through Sweetwater or Sam Ash. Guitar Center SUCKS! read more

Today I was at Guitar Center on Charleston. Will never ever go back. A friend of mine had walked over there while I was shopping at Kohl's. Unfortunately I had forgotten my phone and could not call my friend. The man at the door refused to allow me to just walk in and check if my friend was there. Was very rude. Had my mask but was still quite rude. He saw me drive around countless times. And on top of that, nobody in the store which only allowing three people in helped him. Not only were everyone on point, and I mean everyone! All the way from Austin (store manager), to Jeremy (brilliant guitar salesman and guitar knowledge specialist, guitar models, years, etc.) to Von (a super-awesome guitar geek-tech with seemingly endless technical knowledge and an unmatched willingness to share it, a most important quality indeed, -I know my babies (guitars) are safe with him, lol, he's 'the Guitar Docta' of Vegas and rest assured, your axe will be in capable hands!!, to Max in the lessons department; they were also attentive and engaged.
