I came in here with a group of people on a Saturday night. It's a "seat yourself" situation. I was easily able to find a table large enough for our group of 8. It took a little while for a server to come over to take our drink orders. I ordered a "Definitive Old Fashioned" ($13). It was kind of lackluster in flavor and a little watered down. I also asked for a water a couple of times, but it took about 15 minutes for one to finally show up. My table probably would have ordered more drinks had the server come back by more frequently. They don't have many vegetarian options except for the house salad, a "build your own pizza", the ever present black bean burger and nachos. I ended up getting the nachos which were at least not just chips and cheese. They were covered with black beans, corn, peppers, pico, jack cheese, sour cream and salsa. They were actually pretty decent. For a place called "BrewTop" I was expecting a more extensive draft beer menu, but I didn't really see a whole lot going on in that department... mostly just domestics, a few locals and then bottles of things that didn't really excite me. They did have several large TVs to watch various sports. If I came back here, it would likely just be for a drink and an app. It definitely wouldn't be my "go to" place. read more

We went in on a Wednesday early evening for dinner and a couple drinks. We were greeted quickly and initially our server came often. There were great specials and happy hour deals, and our food came timely. The wings and chef salad, both were delicious. Only get a four star because after a while, we thought we were forgotten. Empty drinks and hadn't seen our waitress for quite awhile. We were ready to go anyway so when she finally returned, we cashed out and left. I really want to like this place as they sometimes have some really good music playing, but it's just not my favorite. It's a pretty young crowd and the floors are always sticky from the drunk people spilling their drinks all over the floor. People are often over-served and drama comes into place late at night. The food is ok for bar food, but I'd never go there for the food. The service is hit and miss, especially when it's busy. They've been around for a long time and certainly get busy, it's just not my crowd. I still support the local places when I can. read more

Who loves a good happy hour?! Me & the girls dooooo! So today we chose The BrewTop Pub as a first choice for everyone. When you first walk in you'll see a sign that says "Seat Yourself" ... I think that is great as we had a larger party & knew we wanted to sit towards the back part of the restaurant. Immediately when you sit down a waitress comes & helps you, so that impressed me as well seeing as we just sat down. The restaurant itself is pretty big , so seating shouldn't be a problem. They have music but I could not hear until we got completely quiet .. but it was nice music. We ordered the normal bar type of food like chicken tenders , wings , eggrolls , etc. As a whole we gave the place a 4/5 .. but for the ratings of the food .. the chicken tenders were 2/10 ( not seasoned) .. fries & wings were 8/10 pretty yummy. Used to be a 5 star place a few years ago. To put it in very simple terms...acting too big for their britches. Next door to Scheels, the most overpriced store ever. You're a sports bar, not an exclusive club bc you hire local bands and in the OP neighborhood. Change the demeanor and target customer if you want to sell $5 beer along with a $5 cover. We used to come here more often when it was a lot more upscale when it first opened. It seems a bit run down now. Food is "ok" and basic bar food. Service was slow and they didn't seem too interested in being at work. Thai is a decent place to grab some drinks and watch games on their many TVs. Just don't expect too much on food and service. I've been here a few times before. Tonight we came in to see the band Crowardly Lions. The place was packed. We ordered a couple of drinks and stood in the middle of the bar to watch the band. All tables was taken. Younger crowds mostly in their 20s. No one was really dancing at the beginning. But toward the end, the place was hopping. We eventually got a table. The inside is very cute and set up well for watching a game or hanging with friends. The food was pretty good. It wasn't the best thing I've ever had but good. I was charged $1 for a tiny little cup of onion for my salad The service was pretty good. The server was friendly and pretty on top. The reason for the 2 star review is the food not being great. The issue I have is the happy hour board says craft beers are $3.75. We asked our server why the check did not reflect this to then be told it's on select craft beers. read more

Brewtop is always a great place to go for drinks and live music. I recommend sitting on the roof. Their bar food is above average, especially the gourmet pretzel bites. Spin dip is awesome! They have raspberry rocket pop quirk on tap all summer long (my favorite). The servers are always very friendly and attentive. I am very picky about my caeser salad and this one was not my favorite, the shrimp was mid as well. However, the rest of the food that I've had the opportunity to try has always been good. This is the second time I've been to a brewtop, and just as good experience here in KS. We came in with a group of 8, including 4 younger kids. We asked to sit in the game room area, which was nice because it was secluded. Our server was nice, she gave us samples of some of the varieties of beers on tap, and of course I went with a KC brew. It was still happy hour so we got a bucket of beers too. I ordered the sweet thai wrap, and the 4 sliders for my two kids. The price of the sliders vs kids meals was better, and they don't actually offer kids burgers on the menu. It was the perfect portion size for a 4 & 7 yo. The sweet thai was SO unbelievably good. Just the perfect combonations of heat and sweet. The wrap itself was a good ratio to the chunks of meat, lettuce and veggies. I couldn't eat the whole thing but was able to reheat well the next day. I have been thinking of it ever since. It was a great stop after a long day of baseball games and if you're just looking for a hearty meal and cold beer this is a great stop. read more

The one thing that may be offputting to sone is you have to see yourself but quite honestly there's not a problem. The staff comes quickly to serve you and there's no wait time for your food. When we dined in we had the vegetable nachos which was a large portion and extremely tasty, a turkey club sandwich & pork tenderloin which also great. This past week I decided to order to go & the food was just as good as if I was there. Again the pork tenderloin which were huge, so big that each of us made a second sandwich out of it the next day. Visited this restaurant for dinner. Inside of this place and the patio is awesome. They have multiple TVs, ideal to watch sports! We ordered the Blue Moon and Blueberry limeade. For the appetizers, we had Deep fried Mac n Cheese, jumbo gourmet pretzels, and Brew Top wings with bbq and garlic parmesan dipping. By time I made it to our table we already had some wing appetizers going around. The wings are excellent here! I tried the teriyaki and the hot. Really good flavors! If you like wings you should definitely try the wings here. You will not be disappointed. I got the cajun pasta and it was okay. Being from Houston and visiting New Orleans and Louisiana quite a bit I am a hard judge when it comes to anything cajun. We have the luxury of being really close to Louisiana and we get access to some amazing food. The cajun pasta was alright. Nothing like the cajun pasta I've had in Texas or Louisiana. I disputed my tab and was in-turn called a "c*nt" by a bartender. During the situation, I was told by the bartender that he remembered me ordering one round... which I did. Then I was told to pay the $95 tab (should've been $20 - $30 less easy) or they call the police. Itold them to call but ended up paying to end the drama. I had the same bartender shout across the bar, in an obvious attempt to shame me, that I was "mad I couldn't afford my tab." I was told I was banned ... for disputing a tab. Great practice when they allow guests to sleep at the bartop. I also had an issue with an over-the-top bouncer putting a gentleman in an unnecessary, forceful chokehold to get him to leave. I brought issue with it because he had spilled my drinks on me previously while I tried to leave and forced/BELLY BUMPED me out the door. I was visibly shaken when bringing up the incident with the manager. He side eyed me "we'll look at the cameras." Sure he will ... as he asked for no further information to handle it accordingly. Tragic management style. I'm familiar with bar and service industry - very familiar with customer service. A few employees need urgent training sessions. I don't think you should come expecting 3 Michelin star quality but for bar food it is pretty dang good! I've tried quite a few things on the menu and it is always good. I love that this place is so friggin big. You can start inside and play games or watch middle aged people dance poorly and when the sun goes down you can go up on the patio and enjoy the breeze. The staff is consistently friendly and service is always pretty good. The drink prices are great especially for the area. If you drink beer $1 beer night is a great way to get drunk without spending a whole lot. The crowd is always interesting I think it's anywhere from 21 year olds to late 50 and 60 year olds but most people are in their twenties I'd say. This is the kinda bar you can have fun at and not want to cry when you see your bank statement the next morning. All in all it is one of my favorite places to go out without spending a whole lot. read more
