The warranty states protection against delamination for 10 years, as long as monthy water samples were brought in, which we did... always buying the products needed, and doing as recommended. A few years later we noticed a small area of delamination and let Jimmy Legg know about it. It took SEVEN MONTHS to get any response, then he quoted us $1,300 to repair a 3x4 inch area under warranty. The entire resurfacing was only about $5,000. I can't understand paying $1,300 for a small area under warranty. Over the years, we have probably spent approximately $15,000 with this company. We were good customers. We will never do business with them again, nor will we recommended them. So disappointing. I can see now why they have such low ratings. I just wish I would have never done business with them."

For $130 a month, all they really had to do was empty two baskets and keep the chemistry in line. That should not have been difficult. Then their staffing problems started, and the whole thing went downhill fast. They sent out people who clearly had little to no real pool knowledge. One of them might as well have listed "I have a saltwater fish tank" as his top qualification. They could not answer basic questions about my pool equipment, and I knew more than the people they were sending to my house. When I asked to have those employees removed from my account and replaced with someone who actually knew pools, apparently that hurt some feelings. It got even worse when I realized that when they did not think they were being watched, they were not even doing the basic job they were hired to do. I have security camera footage of one of these inexperienced young guys showing up, spending about two minutes total at my house, emptying one basket, never emptying the other basket for the filter, taking a picture of the pool, and leaving. That was it. In and out, just long enough to pretend he had done something. If that is their idea of professional pool service, that tells you everything you need to know. The final straw was a Hayward salt cell warranty issue. My pool is only a few months old, and the cell was under warranty for labor and parts. Hayward had already indicated the cell was bad. This Pinch A Penny location is listed as an authorized Hayward service center, yet instead of actually providing service, they started pissing, moaning, and crying about how Hayward supposedly does not pay them enough, boo hoo, blah blah blah, yada yada yada. Then they told me I would have to pay a $160 service call unless I removed the cell myself and brought it in to them. That is not service. That is laziness mixed with attitude. Then came the best part. Because I complained about the inexperienced techs they sent and expected better service, they dropped me as a customer altogether. I was basically told they can choose who they want to service, and since I was one of their lower paying accounts, they cut me loose. That tells you everything you need to know about their professionalism and how much they value customers. The attitude on the phone was arrogant, dismissive, and standoffish from start to finish. When I said I would be leaving a review, I was told, "Everybody loves us. We have great reviews." Well, here is one they are not going to love. If you want a pool company that is knowledgeable, professional, and actually stands behind the service they advertise, look elsewhere. Based on my experience, this location is badly managed, poorly staffed, and absolutely not a company I would recommend to anyone.

Andrew did contact me after my review, promising me if I took the post down, he would complete my pool. He said he would send me a receipt for the materials (pool tiles) he left at my house, but that it was illegal to furnish the plaster to me or to refund me the difference. He then went on to send me a receipt -- not for the pool tiles -- but for the plaster he said he couldn't refund/furnish.

I found out a week later that he did not have a crew let alone a foreman. He was taking it upon himself to do the job by himself since his partner was having mother in-law issues. He never mentioned to me he had a partner. He did not have the knowledge and experience to do the work and when you catch him in a lie he just keeps lying some more knowing full well he can't keep his promise to you. One of my big mistakes was not only hiring him, but paying him 40% down before he started the job. How he received some good Yelp reviews must have been he was doing some other service. My advice is to keep looking .

They therefore took no action and did not repair. the pool is leaking and sucking in air through the skimmer every 3 days, they will come out and address, but it will be 2 Years before they can come out! I am willing to engage another party to do a repair, but they say it will void my warranty!

We have a 5 yr old pool that had sprung multiple leaks. We contacted them as we have a lifetime…read morewarranty on the shell. They said it was an 8 month wait because they had several that were consteucted with faulty materials. Meanwhile we are required to keep it full to meet our responsibility to maintain warranty. When we got another leak and at the 8 month time frame, we called to inquire about time frame. They said another 6 months at least no real time frame. The leak has gottwn so bad that we are filling about 4 inches EVERYDAY. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Unable to load photos. Convenient isnt it.
