I immediately told them I was over charged, I had been quoted $1000. for the intake manifold repair. The tech Brian told me I would have to discuss with Mark, who wasn't there. I've left letters in the drop box and left vm messages, no one returns my calls. (They did work on another vehicle of mine 2 years ago, almost $4K worth of work on Chevy Colorado.) No longer giving them any more business. Update after speaking with Mark the owner, 5/8/2024. Mark called a few days after I picked up the vehicle. Claims the "repair was a nightmare". All kinds of rust on the intake manifold bolts, 6 of the 8 bolts were rusted out and broke when he tried to remove them. He said the job should have taken him 3 hours but instead it took him 9 hours.(Really???) I told him as a customer who was given an estimate of $1000. for a repair only to be charged 50% more, I was not happy, he should have had a better idea of the condition of the vehicle and the cost to repair (Initially, I had left the vehicle at the shop, he looked the vehicle over and also diagnosed the check engine code issue and that it needed an intake manifold.) I told him given the estimate of $1000., then overcharge of $500., he had lost a customer.

I went in for my state inspection sticker & they claimed my ~6 month old perfectly working windshield wipers needed to be replaced, otherwise they will fail the inspection. I asked the scam artist to show me what was wrong, he reached in & pulled on the wiper switch & wasted my wiper fluids to show me that absolutely nothing was wrong. They were going to charge $75 dollars to change a pair of windshield wipers that would cost no more than $10 and takes no more than 10 seconds to do, that's robbery in broad daylight, folks. I told family members about it, "...that shady ass shop next to that Chinese take out place on Main St.?" I hear someone say. Surprise surprise, turns out my dad and brother went through the same exact experience. Coincidence it is not, I reckon this happens on the daily. If you've already paid these schmucks the inspection fee but not the robbery fee, then buy a brand new pair of windshield wipers elsewhere, bring it back to this shop & change it in front of them if you have to, get a re-test & sticker, and never return.

I needed to get my car running again, the check engine light off, and the parking brake fixed, so I could sell it. They were able to get the car running again, however the engine light was still on. This was about 400 bucks. When I pointed this out, they said they could take it back in to figure it out later in the week. I brought it back in, and found out a week later that they fixed the parking brake, but still didn't get the check engine light off. They had replaced some parts while trying to figure it out. This was 1100 bucks. I was then told that they have a friend with a different code reader that might be able to help them figure out the issue, and he'd have availability within the week. More than a week goes by, I call for an update, I'm told the friend is sick but will be better soon and can get it done. Since I'm already into the repair for a ton, I'm hoping that they might do right by me. Two more weeks go by, I hear nothing. Finally, I find another shop to take my car to. They get the check engine light off for 300 bucks, give or take. I figured that I learned an expensive lesson, and was going to let sleeping dogs lie, until the caliper they replaced during the parking brake work came loose, wore a hole through my rim, and caused a flat tire. I'm lucky it didn't happen on the highway or I'd probably have wrecked. This was about two and a half months after the work was done. To sum it up, they bit off more than they could chew with the majority of my repair, and instead of admitting it was beyond what they could fix, they spent my money. Go elsewhere.

I thought I had blown a tire, so I got off the highway and, by pure luck, pulled into Medford Gas & Service. Victor was just about to leave for the day, but he stayed late to help me. Within minutes, he found the actual cause of the problem that had been missed before and stayed even later to fix it so I could safely get back on the road. I can't thank Victor and the team enough. They are some of the kindest, most honest people I've ever met, and they truly went above and beyond. I'll only be bringing my car here from now on. He is also a good mechanic because he will not go looking for repairs to make on your car unless you ask him to. I have had two major car repairs at Lenny's: first a complete brake change, and second repairs to my front after a guy backed into my little car. Both were completed promptly and correctly. He even worked really well with my insurance people. The garage itself is pretty small. Sometimes his son will work there too, but mostly it is just Lenny, a cat, and a dog. No, there is not a fancy waiting room, but it is a close walk to Belmont Center where you can go to Starbucks or Macy's while you wait. Enterprise is also very close if you need a rental. When I moved to Boston, my mother told me to find a good mechanic asap. Well, I found him in Belmont and have not been disappointed.
