The flowers are very fresh as I saw them for a full week after and they still looked like they were just delivered. I contacted 1800 Flowers for a Mother's Day flower delivery for my daughter. I wanted a FLOWERS NOT a plant. I paid extra to have the flowers delivered on Mother's Day. I waited all day for my daughter to receive these flowers. At almost 6 pm a car drives up and a little girl maybe 10 -11 hops out of the passenger side of the car and hands me a plant. I was so irritated and angry as it looked like a plant that I could've drove to Home Depot and paid 19.95 for. When I made this order I paid 64.95 for. This plant did NOT cost anywhere close to 64.95. I contacted 1800 flowers right away and asked if they could refund my money and they offered me a pitiful 15% discount and said that the florist (Gunstun Flowers) did everything in their power to fulfill my order. I told them they could take their 15% and hire better florists to work for them. Gunston Flowers ruined my daughters 1st Mother's Day. This plant that was delivered is ugly, small and has broken limbs all over. Save your time and money and find a florist in Woodbridge. And above all else DO NOT EVER use 1800 FLOWERS if I could've use a negative stars I would've read more

A big West Coast thank you to Carol at Gunston Flowers! I hoped to have flowers delivered to my sister-in-law who was due to come home (Springfield) from the hospital yesterday. I checked out Yelp for florists and called a florist in Springfield. Due to the three-hour time difference, I missed their 11:00am cutoff for same day delivery by about one hour. A google maps search showed that Gunston Flowers in Lorton, VA was not much further than the Springfield florist so I gave them a call. Carol at Gunston Flowers was very helpful, and she assured me she could get an arrangment delivered yesterday. The flowers were delivered about two hours or so after I placed the order and were inside the house to welcome my sister-in-law when she got home from the hospital later in the day.She and my brother were both very appreciative. As an earlier reviewer intimated, this isn't a fancy place; there's likely to be at least one dog hanging out behind the counter. However the staff is incredibly nice and knowledgeable, plus their prices are VERY reasonable. I have used this Florist since 2011 and had always been happy until today. My son ordered a corsage of sweet heart roses for his homecoming date. This was the first time I did not go with him to place the order, however his order was simple ... 4 white sweetheart roses. I went with him to pick up and pay the $20.00. The corsage was unusually small, much smaller than the previous 4 times when we placed corsage orders. It looked like a corsage for a 5 year old instead of a high school corsage. When I questioned the clerk she was defensive and dismissive in her attitude & told me , "they are sweetheart roses." I feel that the $20 was too much money for the product received. In addition, I feel they tried to take advantage of my son, because he was a teenager. Ironically, my sons friend had the same order and the same complaint. The corsage was too expensive and way too small. This was a completely disappointing experience. Although I love to support local businesses, I will not go back to Gunston Flower. The flowers were beautiful and the service was amazing. My parents weren't around for the delivery initially but the florist went above and beyond to coordinate with us to make sure they delivered when my parents got home. And then to top it off, when the florist delivered and found a wasp's nest in my parents' basketball hoop, they sent photos to me and my parents and did followup calls to make sure we knew of the nest! I went here in search for flowers for my wedding. The manager was rude right off the bat, saying I needed call and make an appointment; never mind that I was standing right there and could have made an appointment then (that should have been my clue to not return). When I called and mentioned what I was looking for the owner starting pointing me in other directions and not in helpful ones either. When continued and made an appointment to discuss arrangements in person. When I walked in the shop was full of personal clutter, not floral stuff, and pets; not professional at all. During my appointment we talked for an hour and discussed types of flowers and colors to use. I left feeling pretty good about getting something checked off the wedding list. However, a few hours later, the owner emails me (not calls) to say that she will not make my flower arrangements and suggests I find someone closer to the venue. I did not take her advice of finding someone closer, instead I went just down the road to Christopher's Flowers, where they were very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. They kept me in the loop on my order, treated me like a bride and arranged perfect flowers. read more
