A couple of weeks ago I made an online purchase of some magazines from Gunther Guns. I thought they were priced very fairly so I purchased 10 and received the invoice re the purchase. I registered an account and provided all my information. Incidentally, I was formerly an FFL but now only utilize a C&R license with the same information as provided. After receiving the invoice I received correspondence from them canceling my order for "suspected fraud." I responded to the sender, Sebastian, that it was not and inquired as to what we needed to do to complete my order. Still no response to date. I went back online to attempt the order again only to find that the price of the magazines had suddenly changed from $19.50 to 26.00. I guess they decided they were selling them too cheaply so they negated the sale by calling it attempted fraud. I wrote again and asked them to honor their sale. No response. No one can take a person's integrity, but it sure can be easy to give away. In this case, they sold theirs over 65 bucks. Folks like this wouldn't stay in business in Oklahoma. read more

I had a intra-state inter-family gun gift from my father, who lives in FL, to me in CA. First, finding an FFL that would facilitate this transfer in San Diego is close to impossible. I had no less that 7 FFLs tell me that it was illegal or too much trouble than it was worth. I contacted Gunther Guns and they knew exactly what I was trying to accomplish. They provided me with all the information I needed to facilitate the transfer. The only issue is that I couldn't get anyone on the phone. They are extremely busy bc everyone who doesn't already own a gun is desperate to get one before the laws become to onerous. It is better for you to go directly to the store. After the gun arrived, Gunther Guns called me to let me know they had the gun and I needed to come in to start my 10 day wait and the background check. Lastly, the people at Gunther Guns were professional, helpful, knowledgeable, and courteous. Many gun stores are filled with "gun people" who talk down to prospective gun buyers. THIS IS NOT THE CASE AT GUNTHER GUNS! If you are looking to purchase a gun and want to speak with a considerate group of people who will help you through the purchase, then Gunther Guns is the place for you. read more

This is definitely not your typical gun shop where the employees aren't friendly, won't speak to you, don't care if you give them your business or not. This is for sure a new aged gun shop that has a focus on customer service to the fullest. The location may not be the typical for a gun shop seeing how it's in an industrial area of all places Carlsbad. I can't imagine what the owner had to go through to get this business in Carlsbad. Anyway the owner Gregg is so damn nice he may seem fake but he's not. You could talk with him all day about guns and I love that about him. When I went in there were several 1911's but the prices were a little high. If you drive down to San Diego you'll be wasting gas so you should just buy here at Gunther. read more

A few months ago i took my Mom to Gunter Guns to consign a small collection of hand guns. I made an appointment over the phone with Greg. When we arrived it was busy but we were quickly seen. After a short but detailed valuation and discussion about the process we decided to consign them. Gregs knowledge was not only amazing but very accurate. The entire collection sold individually within $100 of his initial estimate. The sales were quick as he suggested they would be. Any offers lower than the asking price we're provided to us and he or another staff member advised us on their thoughts throughout. Once sold we were notified each time. Once the funds were available we were notified. The whole process was simple and efficient. Gunther Guns got us significantly more than we thought they were worth. One of the best employees was Bryan Chamberlin, he's 100% the guy to talk to if you need your questions answered, a great sense of humor and down to earth. Many other gun shops are somewhat unapproachable and the sales staff seem arrogant. The guys at Gunther are completely opposite. They take the time to show you a wide range of options, explain everything in a clear manner and they're very efficient with all the paperwork that's required these days. 10/10 recommend for any gun or ammo purchase! If you're a first time buyer (or not) please do not get any help from Greg - the owner. His customer service and professionalism are the absolute worse. Basically, I was a motivated buyer and this was my first day shopping (in person) where I wanted some information about different hand guns and to see which ones felt the most comfortable based on my grip. And Greg unfortunately was there and offered some help and mentioned if you're not ready to buy a gun today then he's not taking any guns out for me to try - period. And I was literally shocked where he acted as if this was perfectly normal for him to say that.Anyway, he needed to step away and someone else was able to assist and help me try out different guns. As a result, I almost walked out, but the other person that helped me was really nice, so I stayed and later purchased a gun. read more

I don't normally do reviews but these guys deserve it. I recently have been looking all over san diego county for an affordable FFL so I can buy some ammo since California ammo is just crazy right now. I came across Gunther's and they not only are one of the only FFLs that would accept my order but they were the cheapest by a long shot!! Only 25$ per tracking label they receive, so make sure to buy bulk like I did! Not only did I find my go to FFL but I also found a great gun shop. This place is super well kept together and the staff are very friendly as well! This is a great gun shop which is unfortunately hard to find in San Diego. read more

I had a very nice experience shopping at Gunther Guns. The customer service has been great. Family owned businesses seem to offer more of a personal touch with expert knowledge, and I appreciate that. Though COVID-19 has caused a surge in firearm sales, I was able to find a few things that sparked my interest that were in stock. Testing for my gun safety card was quick and easy, I got a 100%! My DOJ paperwork was a snap and my purchase was approved for pickup on schedule. I will shop at Gunther Guns first, as I don't need the snarky attitudes of other gun store employees. Guns stores get hundreds of crackpot phone calls everyday, usually from anti-gun babies. This maybe why you cannot always reach someone by phone. read more

Sebastian is knowledgeable, helpful and really easy to talk to. Gregg is always willing to take time to come talk and I appreciate what he has built in his business. Fantastic people all around! I've recently purchased a Keltec rifle from them that is a pain in the ass to work on and they helped out with modifications. I came to pick it up and it wasn't quite what I wanted but they took it back no questions asked and told me they will make it right. That's the way you do it. I'm not sure when it will be ready but in these crazy pandemic times, you couldn't ask for a better neighborhood gun shop. Prices are fair and I know I'm going to be happy when my rifle comes home. After all, nothing says "celebration" quite like putting a group of friends in a kitchen with sharp knives, hot burners, and just enough confidence to be dangerous. From the start, the class had a great energy. It was fun, interactive, and just the right amount of organized chaos. We were all assigned tasks, trying to follow directions while also catching up and laughing along the way. At times, it felt more like a lively kitchen full of friends than a structured class, which added to the fun. We also ended up sharing our cooking station with a really great family, which turned out to be a highlight. It added to the experience having more people to laugh with, compare notes, and occasionally look at for reassurance when something didn't seem quite right. There's something about bonding over butter, timing, and "is this done yet?" that brings people together pretty quickly. The menu itself was good: rosemary chicken, risotto, a fresh salad with homemade dressing, and a strawberry custard for dessert. And I have to admit--the risotto was my personal favorite of the night. With all the stirring, multitasking, and conversation happening, I was fully expecting it to go sideways. Instead, it came out perfect, which felt like winning a small but meaningful award. I may never make it that well again, but for one night, I'll take it. If there was one challenge, it was that the class size felt a little large for just one chef. There were moments where it felt like culinary traffic--people waiting for guidance, timing overlapping, and a bit of "are we supposed to be doing this now?" But to the chef's credit, they kept things moving and somehow brought it all together in the end. I am giving Green Flash 2 stars based on a severely rushed recent inspection and the poor quality…read moreof their past repair work. Recently, I had them come out because I suspected termites in one of our rafter tails. To their credit, they correctly identified that specific spot as just fungus and didn't try to oversell me on treatments I didn't need. However, their inspection was incredibly brief. They spent only a few minutes scanning the house, didn't check the attic at all, and gave us the all-clear. A couple of days later, I had a second company come out for another look. They spent almost an hour doing a thorough inspection and found a severe termite infestation in a different rafter tail that was almost entirely hollowed out. They spotted the signs right through the paint. Green Flash completely missed this. On top of the missed inspection, the wood rot repairs Green Flash did for us 5 years ago (costing about $1,200) have both failed and need to be redone. They spliced a rafter tail that is now loose, and it turns out they miscut a replacement barge board on the back of the house. To cover up the bad cut, they glued a scrap piece of wood over it, which has since detached and is currently hanging off the board. Bottom line: They failed to do a thorough termite inspection, and their carpentry work doesn't hold up. I highly recommend getting a second opinion on their inspections and hiring a dedicated specialist for any actual wood repairs.

"How did this ever happen??!", noticing a buttonhole that needed a small amount of repair. She automatically took the shirts and hung them up on her to-do rack making it somewhat uncomfortable for me to say thanks, but no thanks. It was then I wanted to know how much the bill would be, and she replied $24. I then grabbed the shirts off of her rack and bid her a good day. I have seen this same tactic used at different types of repair shops where the owner overly dramatizes what needs to be done and takes possession of the item prior to discussing the charge or getting approval. In sales that's called the assumptive close, where they act as though they assume you will approve the work and pay their price for the very minimal effort required. Don't fall for it. I have just now received a response from the lady's husband indicating that I must have visited a different shop and mistakenly thought I was in theirs. Absolutely not possible as I've been in several times in the past. Perhaps showing the shirts will refresh her memory and also defend my own. For full disclosure, the green shirt does have a small half-inch rip on the back side.
