Grabbed a to go order through DoorDash. I was so nervous because fried foods do not typically travel well. With Gus's this is a LIE! My chicken was as crispy as can be. I took one bite and juice shot out! I'm very particular with my fried chicken as I lie it crispy on the outside but juicy inside. That's not easy for most but this was spot on. Fries were seasoned well and for someone who doesn't care for Cole slaw much this was one I would come back for!

Superrr delicious! Very possibly the best fried chicken ("ALL hot") in Atlanta. This was my first time here, so I would like to come back to try it a few more times, but we ordered a combination of chicken tenders and thighs. It was extremely delicious! The prices are a little bit expensive, but we appreciated their daily specials-- as well as their willingness to sub out their sides of beans and slaw for fries or other side sides. They were quite busy, so we waited in line a while -- which I don't mind-- but once I got to the counter, I felt like the service was a little bit rude. I excitedly stated that I have never been here before and had a few questions. He cut me off, asserting, "yah yah everything here is cooked in Peanut Oil and is spicy hot," which had nothing to do with what I was going to ask. The ambience is very rustic and no frills-- considering the prices of the food these days, it would be nice if the inside was a little bit more upscale. I'm happy for the no-frills aesthetic if the price was no-frills level. I'm excited to come back and try some more of their sides!

It was so good. Like it was so delicious. I didn't have really any expectations, but my husband had really been wanting to go and raving about it. I ended up going back to get some for my whole family that I was visiting. Don't skip this one.

The original Gus's - all the way from Memphis right here in ATL. So this Fried Chicken just hits differently- it's cooked fresh to order, so it comes to you hot, fresh and crunchy. Now there is not heavy breading or crust in their recipe- and you won't miss it. It's got a little "heated kick" and it's tasty - we stopped in on a Saturday and the special was 4 Whole Wings, Slaw and Baked beans for $15 and some change - perfect. You can sub out the sides for other stuff if you want - they have great choices. I stuck with the original offer and some good old sweet tea (half and half) this location is in Chamblee - totally cute, a friendly lady was on duty and she made the experience nice for us ... she was our everything...server, cashier, hostess ... the setting is perfect and cheerful. Head on over and give em a try. I think you will enjoy a taste of Memphis - check out Diners Drive In's and Dives - Guy did a drop in at the original location in Memphis many years ago - great insight to how it was started.

Friendly service , hot n fresh food, southern hospitality at its best. Been coming here for over 10+ years- Veronica , mimi and willy always the kindest ppl. Feels like coming home to your family

I've been here previously. It's been awhile when I had my Dodge Challenger before I got hit and my car got totalled. I went on 1/31/2025 just to get something to eat. No lunch at work so I was hungry. I got a 2pc dark snack. I also got a chicken sandwich for the first time. My side was fries with the sandwich. I also got a side of fried okra because it's fresh tasting and delicious. I had the 2 sides before. This chicken is hot and spicy. It's good even though for the most I always get original and mild chicken at other places. No option here only spicy and hot. The chicken was crunchy previously.Only location I visited. My fries tasted plain not seasoned.

Second visit to this location. Restaurant was moderately filled for lunch. Only one server for the restaurant so things were running a bit slow. Also, took 25 minutes to get the food once ordered, but the chicken was served hot and juicy. I got the two-piece white plate, which comes with one breast and one wing. The wing had to be one of the tiniest chicken wings I had ever seen. Definitely get the three-piece as it comes with two breasts and a wing. As with most restaurants, prices have gone up considerably: $15.50 for a two-piece plate (up 50% from apx 2 1/2 years ago).

So I did not know that there was a Gus's So close and I immediately jumped on it! I've been a couple of times and I have no regrets. So this spot specifically it's kind of tucked away because unless you know where you're going you won't run across it while you're driving randomly. It's at the end of a road that you wouldn't normally go to all willy-nilly. But it's so worth it. You get the same services if you were downtown or the one on Roswell road. This one is pretty cool, it has a number receipts there and plenty of window view so you get some sun if you come on a nice day. Space should not be an issue at all. The food is solid. The food is always been solid. I have no issues with that. I may get the dark piece combo or maybe get the chicken tenders, but it's always a hit to me! The greens are pretty good, they're not what your grandma made but they are a pretty good. The fries, or their french fries. fries are a little hard to judge because if they've sat in a carry out box for too long they'll start to get soggy because of the condensation so I hate to hold that against them but when you get them fresh they are good. Good crunch to them, salted and season just like they need to be. Potato salad was actually pretty decent too honestly. I have no complaints about that as well. I wouldn't get on a regular, but it was good. Gus's hasn't missed. When I first got down here I lived in Sandy springs and there was one like 5 mi away and I was there at least 3 days a week. I'm not going to do that this time because I found this little hidden tucked away gem but at the same time, maybe lol. Definitely go and give it a shot! Chicken's good, has the right amount of flavor and right amount of crunch, you won't be disappointed.

Sign on side of business has been busted for a while so I was curious what shape the interior was in. Overall the atmosphere could use some work The entry way signage is very convenience store - there's not a hostess stand so there's not a sense of place. There could be a dessert case or something there to greet you. The 'bar' is a lost opportunity really and the bar chairs need replacing. Prices could come down. Food was fine. Sweet tea made my teeth fall out it was so sweet! Came in at 2 on a Saturday and was kinda quiet. The single waiter for the entire restaurant was very friendly.

Gus Fried Chicken is tucked away at 5486 Peachtree Rd Chamblee, GA 30341. Their Health Score was 91-A as of July 10, 2023. We enjoyed their delicious spicy fried chicken that was crispy and made to order. For our sides we enjoyed collard greens, baked beans and fried okra which were all severed hot and fresh. We also indulged on their fried pickles served with ranch dressing for our appetizer which was equally delicious. Gee, our waiter provided great service with a smile. He also speaks Spanish which is a plus. The ambiance was moderate with music piping through their speakers. I would definitely recommend this location for lunch or dinner. If your in a hurry call ahead to place your to go order to save on wait time. Enjoy!!!

After a few visits, I've tried a good variety of the menu: * **Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich:** This is served open-face and uses a mix of Sichuan and Calabrian chili. It is absolutely amazing, but fair warning: it is *hot*. Even if you're used to Sichuan spice, this one may still be tough to deal with, but it's still incredibly flavorful and enjoyable. Just keep in mind that they don't adjust the heat level for this one. * **The Greens:** These are wonderful. They have a rich, savory pork flavor and are easily a must-order for me every single time. * **Shrimp and Grits:** This has a fantastic sauce that strikes the perfect balance--not too heavy, but not watery either. My only minor wish is that they'd add some andouille sausage to it (even if raised the price), but it's still a really well-executed dish. * **Southern Pho:** Really great and super hearty. It's a comforting bowl, though probably best enjoyed during the winter months. * **Drinks:** The cocktails are always creative and well-made, and they keep a really interesting beer list on hand too. ### 2. The Ambience The vibe here is great. The interior feels like a charming, cozy little house you'd find in Savannah. I especially love the bar area, which has these really cool copper chandelier lights that give the space a warm, inviting glow. ### 3. The Service The staff has been consistently friendly and welcoming every single time I've been here. The Summary I honestly feel lucky to live close to this place. It doesn't get much love or mentions from the Atlanta social media crowd and local press (the good news is you won't encounter a lot of annoying people lol).. I'm a fan though.

While I know many come for the food, I personally make the 25-minute drive for one thing: the Sweet Potato Cheesecake. Or at least, I used to. Lately, it seems like something has changed in the process. The cheesecake hasn't been setting properly, and the cream cheese isn't fully blended into the sweet potato, leaving noticeable chunks. The flavor, once rich and decadent, has also diminished, making me question if it's still worth the trip. That said, I've heard the rest of the food is still solid, so if you're craving Southern comfort food, it may still be worth checking out. But for me, unless the cheesecake returns to its former glory, I might have to sit this one out.

It was tender, flavorful, and tasted like a much more expensive meal. Every cut of meat we tried was fresh and well-seasoned. There was also a great variety of meats, sides, and desserts, so everyone in our group found something they enjoyed. Overall, it's a great value for the quality you get. The biggest reason I'm writing this review, though, is because of our server, Trang. We had a party of 12, and although we were told the restaurant is mostly self-serve, Trang went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. She helped cook our meat and always made sure it came off the grill at the right temperature instead of letting us overcook it. Somehow she always seemed to notice when we needed something before we even had to ask, whether it was clearing plates, bringing us more utensils, or checking if we needed anything else. We were celebrating a birthday, and she also helped bring out our cake, cut and serve it for us, and even went out of her way to find a knife when we couldn't locate one. None of those things were expected, but she was happy to help with all of it. What stood out the most was how patient, attentive, and genuinely kind she was throughout the entire meal. Even with a group as large as ours, she never seemed rushed and was always one step ahead. I've been to a lot of restaurants, and her service honestly ranks among the best I've experienced. Great food, amazing Wagyu, excellent value, and service that made an already great meal even better.

The restaurant forces you to select and commit to a dining plan on their system before you are even allowed to enter and see what food is actually available. To make matters worse, there is a clear discrepancy between their physical menu and digital ordering system. Upon reviewing our photos later, we noticed that several items listed on the physical menu (which were not crossed out) don't even have a matching category, tag, or option on the tablet ordering system. P.S. Before anyone questions whether I simply missed these items at the buffet/snack bar: I personally went to the buffet area at least three times and reordered using tablet ordering system multiple times. There wasn't even a single tag or label for those missing items. If they were supposedly there, the real question should be why they were never restocked. Charging $78 a person while failing to properly update the digital menu or sync it with the physical one is incredibly misleading. You shouldn't charge this premium price without letting customers know exactly what is missing beforehand. There were empty spots at the buffet stations, and the restocking speed was painfully slow. I wish we had known this before coming; we would have happily just done the lunch special instead of paying for the Tier menu. Our waitress was wonderful--friendly, attentive, and easily the best part of the experience. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the rest of the service. The hosts seemed overwhelmed, and the front area felt understaffed to handle the crowd. We arrived about 20 minutes before our reservation. My friend is currently wearing an Aircast boot for a foot injury, so we separated and had her wait for the table first since walking is difficult for her. The entrance was crowded with waiting guests, but no one told her that there were actually open seats behind the bar. Even though it was obvious she was injured and needed a place to sit, the host did not offer any alternatives. She eventually asked if she could sit at the bar, only to discover plenty of open seats behind it. It would have been much more thoughtful if the host had actively mentioned this to the waiting guests. The ordering system was another major source of frustration. The tablets at our table either had an outdated system or were dying--they frequently froze, and we had to try multiple times just to place an order. Even worse, the system missed one of our limited special items entirely. We actually lost track because, after we submitted our order, they swapped our tablet for a new one, and the system got completely confused. We had to ask at least three times about the missing item before it was finally addressed. Huge thanks to our waitress, who personally went back to the kitchen to communicate for us and ensure we got our missing items. Without her, I'm not sure the issue would have been resolved at all. As for the food, the restocking speed was disappointing. One of the milk tea machines was virtually empty for the duration of our visit--it only had a tiny splash left at the very bottom, well below the line, and was never refilled. The meat was sliced extremely thin, which wouldn't normally be an issue, but due to the type of grill plate they use, the meat burns instantly and constantly sticks to the grill plate. If you're going to slice meat that thin, the grill setup really needs to be reconsidered. One more thing: the restaurant's advertisements are completely outdated. They still advertise a $28 membership card, which is no longer a valid dining option (it is $58 a year now). I wish someone had informed us about this before we made our choices. Overall, I wouldn't return to this location. The waitstaff were warm and professional and worked hard, but the incomplete menu, slow restocking, and poor communication made the experience disappointing. We also appreciated that no one rushed us to leave after we paid and sat for about an hour--that was a positive note to end on.

I came in on a Saturday for a 6:15 PM reservation for a party of four. I arrived first on time and my first guest arrived at 6:20 PM. I was told I had to wait till the rest of my party arrived. I set at the bar while waiting for the rest of our party. My friend approached the hostess stand to ask if we could be seated as a party of two . Also, advised the Mexican girl that it will be only 3 but, we don't have to wait for her cause she's not gonna be eating since we're on a time schedule and was attending an event. The hostess was very rude and dismissive, stating "that's not how it works" in an unprofessional tone. Later, another hostess came over and said our reservation had "run over" at 6:35 PM, even though we were already in the restaurant before our reservation time window had passed and there were clearly open tables available. The restaurant wasn't packed at all. When we asked again about a table for two, we were told we could either sit at the bar or wait. The interaction felt very unwelcoming and unprofessional. We told the hostess we wanted a table for two to sit down and eat . The black hostess said , so you want to stay at the bar or you want a table . I said a table. She said , the bar ‍I said no a table. She then said that they could refuse service if we had an attitude, which was not the case . I simply answered her question by saying no . Told her I didn't know that saying no is me having an attitude. At that point, we chose to leave and not spend our money there due to the poor customer service and the rudeness of the hostess. Overall, the staff we interacted with on June 20th at 6:15 PM were rude and unprofessional and clearly need better customer service training. Based on this experience, I understand why there are so many negative reviews.

Be prepared for the staff to only speak Spanish. And it does have loud music and TVs. The just moved to a new location off of Buford Hwy. It is 5 minutes from the old location. It's a bit hard to find in the shopping center. Look for the Door #125. If facing the shopping center from Buford Hwy it is to the back all the way to the right. It has a small electric sign.

Ambiance: none at all but this is a buhi (buford highway) establishment so I couldn't care less about ambiance or service; just give me the good food. They really should swap out the fluorescent/LED lights and I'm not sure if it's an authentic addition but there's a gambling room too connected to the dining room lol. lol Service: table service, however we paid at the register at the end of our meal. Sort of like Waffle House lol. At the time of our visit, it was one woman who was both the cashier and server but we also visited at like 10am in a Friday morning LOL. We know it's an odd time. I will say the food took longer than expected but then again we got like 6 homemade tortillas soOo... I won't complain bc I can't make my own tortillas any faster than they can Food: We wanted to do a breakfast that was quite unique and we definitely got it here at this authentic Guatemalan restaurant. I got the desayunos rancheros ($14) with "medium well eggs" and my bf basically got the same thing but with a side of sausage ($2) instead of steak. Both proteins were absolutely delicious and eggs were deliciously cooked. The table received some homemade tortillas (LITERALLY THE REASON TO GET BREAKFAST HERE) and we made little breakfast tacos with our eggs, meat, beans, salsa, and cheese. The yolks made a perfect dipping vehicle for our tacos. I cannot get over how perfect the tortillas were; warm and soft. Coffee also wasn't bad but their creamer is a powder (also not sure if this is just a Guatemalan thing or not lol but I drink my coffee black so it didn't matter to me)

It's located in the area near perimeter mall, nestled inside of Dunwoody/sandy springs area. Parking was great and free. We arrived and they allowed us through the balcony doggy entrance. We were served by Brittany and she did a fantastic job ! She made great recommendations and even told us the doggy meal options. My dog is pretty anti social as a Shih Tzu so I was super proud of him for staying quiet and enjoying time outside with us. Service was A1. We will definitely come back any time in the area as the food was delicious. I ate my entire meal lol

Everything was really good. I did the All American Burger with fries and a soda. Service was fast and responsive. She offered to get me a to go cup for my drink without being asked. Atmosphere was great. I love that you can see into the kitchen ensuring everything is clean and proper. The only negative was the price. I thought I read $12.95 on the menu. When the bill came it was $17.95. Maybe I saw sandwich only or just mis read it. Ad a drink, tax, and a tip and my lunch was nearly $28. I can't do that every day. But it was nice as a treat.

If additional allergy concerns were shared, the chef was consulted to ensure accuracy. I enjoyed my wing combination of lemon pepper and jerk sauce. Made fresh to order and was delicious. The accompanying French Fries were perfect complement too. My partner enjoyed his veggie wrap which included a mixture of vegetables in a large tortilla wrap. After sharing pictures including menu with my daughter, she requested the jerk chicken French Fries. I ordered before I left and they were delicious reheated when brought home. The experience of delicious food and great customer service will make me a repeat customer. I had observed the food truck at other events and very much appreciated my first meal.
