YUM! My turkey burger was so good. Perfectly seasoned, smash-burger style, very flavorful. I am often disappointed with turkey burgers that taste like they came out of a Costco freezer box and this was NOT like that. These folks act like they too LIKE turkey burgers, and I am down for it. I would definitely go back. My husband got the Philly cheese steak with fries. He gave the fries 5/5 (hot, crisp, great seasoning, flavorful) and said (he is a Philly guy) the cheesesteak was pretty good for a Southern attempt at a cheesesteak but that it had a little piece of lettuce on it under all the meat and cheese which I have to say did make me laugh out loud just now while waiting at the DMV. I don't know if know about this spot here but babyyyy I'm so mad I haven't been here sooner!!! This is definitely about to be my new wing spot! I got the 10 piece party wing covered in Dees Specail Sauce (that sh*t was fireeeeee) my wings were fried to perfection and still had crunch even covered in the sauce. Everything was soooo good and everything is fresh to order! This spot is in the heart of the Historic Orange Mound Community. On our black restaurant tour, my mom and I decided to try this spot out. We tried calling, but no answer so we just went ahead and ordered at the restaurant. Waited about 15-20 mins. Pretty decent food. We ordered 3 of the catfish/wings plates. 2 pieces of fish and 3 whole wings, comes with a side, slaw and a roll. Each plate is $16. Mom got honey hot wings with okra and I got extra hot wings with okra. Overall, like I said the food was decent. Nothing super special about it, but good. I do wish the extra hot wings were actually extra hot. They weren't hot at all to me. I missed the burn I was looking for. The fish, okra and fries (I snuck one from my brother's plate) had a nice little seasoning on them. read more

The wings here are fye (fire)! I had the hot wings with a sprinkle of lemon pepper and let me just tell you...they did not disappoint. The flavor is top tier when it comes to the sauce. They get it right. I had seasoned fries to go along with my wings and they were great as well. This is a small restaurant located right off the interstate, but they pack a lot of flavor, southern hospitability, and great food inside. They also have a seating area out side for you to enjoy or you can grab takeout. I can't wait to go back and try other flavors and other menu items. I have my eye on the cheeseburger combo next and fried okra. I am definitely going back! read more

Terrell, the owner is amazing, very professional and very attentive to his customers. I like the style of the restaurant, its clean, menu displayed on a cool black board. There's also a special of the day. There's a patio area out front and there's bar like seating on the inside. This was my first visit to The Phoenix and I will be returning soon. I waited for like 12 minutes for this and it was worth the wait. The salad for over $12 is definitely spot on. It could feed two or 3 grown adults. Plenty of protein going on here with the hard boiled egg and chicken. A must try if you want to eat something fresh and filling. read more

We all know Memphis is home to THE best wing spots and the creators of seasoned wings! We have an abundance of spot but not all of them are created equal! I have a small list of places that have the best seasoned wings in the city (in my opinion) and Phoenix grill is one! I don't know how Memphians came up with the perfect blend of seasonings to create these amazing little pieces of joy but they did! Lol Everytime I visit Phoenix grill I receive the same friendly service and same delicious wings! Always hot and cooked to order!They are like 20 mins or more from my house but I take that drive like once a month just for those seasoned wings and seasoned fries! I have toneat them in the car but it's always worth it! Lol I've also had a shrimp poboy from there and it was good too! However, those wings are the main event for me! They fish plate be right on time. Everything is good but a bit pricey for the serving size. But if you hungry they don't disappoint.
