We were out in the suburbs one Sunday morning and followed the advice of the good people of Yelp to Gusto Coffee Shop. We were pleasantly surprised to find an awesome coffee shop atmosphere, a huge array of coffee options, and even some pretty good breakfast sandwiches/burritos. I've seen Gusto many times in passing (I'm a Longview student), but never tried it until today. And I was so impressed! Its cute n cozy! (Yes a little small, but spaced out enough that you're not elbow to elbow). My order taker was super nice and informative, and dare I say cute too, lol. He understood what a ketogenic diet was and was not disrespectful. He even offered me a keto tip! I ended up ordering a SF almond and caramel latte w/almond milk. It was delicious! I will definitely return soon! read more

Stumbled across this coffee shop near Longview Community College, I am so glad I did! I keep going just to try a new coffee or tea each time! Gusto is still the same cozy, quiet place that JP's used to be. Located near Longview, Gusto has the same menu, the same comfy chairs and tables, and the same relaxed atmosphere with just one major change: they now offer self-serve fro-yo. There are 4 flavor options available; the levers daintly tucked into the back wall. I ordered a small gingerbread latte which turned out to be delicious. Just as a heads-up to others: she didn't ask what kind of milk I wanted and she assumed I wanted whipped cream on my drink. Neither of these things were a big deal to me because I'll drink anything, but it might be a concern to others. No matter the name, this place is still great. read more

Gusto is my go-to coffee shop prior to a long night of adjuncting classes at nearby Longview Community College. It is a great option for all sorts of coffee, quick food options, or just a regular cup of joe. Their brewed coffee options include a rotating favorite, Guatemala, and decaf. The Guatemala rivals any other good, strong coffee brewed around the city. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Setting is always chill and inviting. Gusto also offers local music in the evenings and weekends. They post their monthly schedule of music and events. It's a hidden gem that is largely unknown outside of the Lee's Summit community. I wish they have this place in KC. Got the caramel toffee truffle coffee and dang it tastes so good. Yum. I recommend if these toppings are things you enjoy. Small $3.50 12oz Medium $4 16oz and Large 20oz $4.15 Small has 1 shot of expresso and Medium and Large 2 shots. If you don't want too much caffeine the barista told me they could make half caff so half the caffeine. Yay! read more

Across from Longview College sits gusto Coffee Shop.My son went to Longview, and I thinkI've been there before. I visited this coffee shop for Emily's Bakery items. I was craving a cinnamon roll. Gusto has the best vibe in the city among coffee shops.I fell in love with it. The staff are super fab. I had a medium Carmel Truffle latte. You can see my picture, the foamed milk was a work of art. And the taste???ALL THE WAY TO THE BOTTOM of the cup. I couldn't believe it....take that Starbucks, cause I've never experienced a latte that large with the flavor all the way to the bottom of the cup. And then the cinnamon rolls. They had macarons, pop tarts, cookies, cinnamon rolls all gluten free (I'm not trying to get skinny on this, apparently I'm not going to) Pop Tarts made from scratch by Emily's bakery!!!...and the rest is history...Christopher Elbow Cholates. 2 shelves below. I just recently moved into this area and was happy to find a coffee shop close to my house! This place is cute, quaint and quiet. I worked for about 2 hours and just had a relaxing time. BY FAR and HANDS DOWN my FAV Coffeeshop in Lee's Summit and one of my favs of KC in general!! Great staff - always friendly, always patient, and always helpful with recs. The coffee is consistently good and they offer almost every kind you could want and more. They have an extensive tea menu, too. Their Fogs are always so creative and delish. If you're Gluten Free you will love it even more as they offer multiple yummy Gluten Free treats as well as GF Breakfast Sandwiches! It's very warm and cozy in there with a fireplace, comfy seating, and they also have board games. In the nicer weather there's an outdoor patio to utilize. My husband and I frequent this place on a pretty regular basis. He enjoys their coffee and I their tea lattes. Gusto has quite the selection of lattes! Each one unique and perfect all year 'round. Personally, I love the Canadian Fog during colder seasons and Maui or tropical fog during warmer seasons..especially iced with coconut milk! MMM! Warm muffins and/or breakfast burritos are also delightful; however, a little on the pricey side. If you're in the area, and looking for a local, friendly coffee shop I highly recommend Gusto. I ordered coffee and three different pastries delivered as a family treat. I'd never heard of this shop, so I didn't know what to expect. When our order arrived, each of us were amazed and excited about the item we picked! My son got a double chocolate muffin, my other child had a chocolate peanut butter cream pie, and I had a gluten free s'mores pop tart. Each item knocked it out of the park-- they looked impressive, they tasted delicious-- 11 out of 10, if we were on a 10 point scale. We will DEFINITELY being ordering more often. I should add that I loved my latte, the prices are very reasonable, and their gluten free options are astonishingly wide. read more

I love this quaint little coffee shop! It is a real treat to go to. My husband got the London Fog tea (amazing and I don't even like tea!) and my recommended latte was really good as well. This is my favorite little coffee shop. Whether sitting next to the stone fireplace or sitting on the patio with a view of rolling hills, it has great ambience. It is located on a quaint little street. I love the lattes, the hot tea, and the chicken salad croissants. read more

I was looking for new place to get a matcha latte and was willing to drive 15 minutes to get one! The directions led me across the street near Taco Bell but I had seen a big COFFEE sign on the other side of the road so I went back in that direction. I parked in front and walked in to the cafe full of people and was instantly confused where to go until I saw two small signs, Enter/Exit. The menu had so many choices and sizes...it boggled my mind. I gave my order and was happy they had Oat milk and real honey. I was excited as I left and took a sip the moment I exited and was instantly disappointed with the lukewarm, watered down matcha. Bummer. Maybe next time I will try one of the other Fog lattes they offer. read more

This is my favorite coffee place in Kansas City by far! It's not so expensive and it's super nice inside. The view is very pretty and it is always full or at least have a good chunk of people so you are never alone which is great because I hate lonely place. Plus it's super cute inside, I love the huge map on it and the different time zone as well as it has board games for you to play with, the view is amazing. Oh! And the bathroom is super nice inside and it's only one stall! I recommend this coffee place!!!!! read more

The dirty chai is the best in town. The setting is peaceful and clean, if a little heavy handed on the Jesus front. The employees are well trained and very helpful. I came in today wearing my old Army sweatshirt and the cashier asked me if I was a veteran. I am, so she gave me a discount, which I thought was very proactive and cool. This is my favorite place for coffee in the KC metro, bar none. read more

One word.... Unbelievable! Phillip and Sara, the baristas are absolutely phenomenal. Why? Because my interaction with them they have shown me that they are real and caring people. What happened? I just arrived, hands full of books, keys, and other college junk we have to carry as students.I wanted coffee but I had a budget. I told the barista Sara. She did not judge me but she assisted me. Finding out what I like, took the time to fit it in my budget. She had a great smile! Then there was Phillip the super awesome gentleman. He is positive and helpful. As I reached over to grab my Americano ($3.21) I dropped the hot coffee on the ground by accident. Immediately Phillip ask me if I was ok, "Did it get on you?" "We will make you another one." Sara did that immediately, and for free?! I perceived this as an outstanding customer service and authentic experience. Someone going above and beyond their duty. It's not the matter of how the coffee taste anymore. It's about the service and atmosphere you get here. I hope this gets to the store owner. Because he/she have phenomenal people. read more

Gusto has reopened in the space formerly occupied by Longview/JP's, with many of the same cool baristas & similar menu, but with the addition of frozen yogurt. Hello summer awesome! The usual chocolate/vanilla/raspberry flavors are upstaged by "Original Tart" yogurt, which is a plain yogurt, lightly sweetened, with a bit of a lemony flavor. Very refreshing! The coffee & tea menu looks about the same as before, not that I had it memorized or anything: lattes and expressos and spins, most around four-five bucks. Service was quick & friendly. Love the improvements... really glad my fave coffee space is getting even better. read more

The staff and service at this establishment are absolutely superb. I ordered a cup of potato soup which was quite tasty, but I like a little more salt and pepper. They did not seem to have any packets but the young man who works in the back actually took the time to portion out some salt and pepper for me in some portion cups and brought it to my table. This is in my opinion above & beyond, outstanding customer service. I will definitely when in Lee's Summit visit this establishment again. read more

If there was a half star option I would give it. The chai was so sweet I thought I would rot my teeth by the end of the 16 oz drink. I threw it away it was so horrible. Then there was the sandwich. Excited there was a gluten free option I was hopeful. What I got was disgusting and was also thrown away. First off... A "southwest chicken flatbread" should not just be rubbery microwaved chicken, half melted cheese and hummus. Seriously. ?? Hummus?! Had the menu board actually listed what was in the sandwich, I wouldn't have ordered. Not to mention the gluten free bread had so much sugar it tasted sweet. Thoroughly disgusting. My husbands vanilla latte and chicken pesto sandwich were barely mediocre. Also the menu promised us chips with our sandwiches and we were offered none. Go next door to Long Bell for real food. Overall, Geo's Café is a lovely new spot with a great selection of small bites and a very spacious, yet quiet atmosphere that's perfect for anyone looking to work or study. Maybe a few seconds quicker or a slightly less fine grind. It could have been the coffee beans themselves. I noticed they are using messenger, which is great, but tend to be a bit more bitter due to the roast. Of course, everyone's tastes are different and these are just mine. There was nothing wrong with anything. Overall the milk foam and coffee made for a tasty hot coffee drink to sip. The service was very good and helpful. The barista who made my coffee was very nice and guided us through some of the more interesting menu items, but I am a flat white guy and she nailed it. The place is very small. There are a few places outside to sit but it was hot so we sat inside. A couple of downsides. First, is my wife is a tea drinker and they really didn't have much hot tea. Second, when I order to drink it in the shop I like a real cup instead of paper. Lots of places cater to the take away so I get why they do it, but I really prefer a cup. That being said, if they would have had a great mix of tea drinks I could see this being a regular spot for us. Overall, good place to stop and sip some coffee.

While the coffee never fails to impress, it's the flavored teas that steal the show. Each one I've tried has been a delightful surprise. The chai, in particular, stands out as nothing short of amazing. When it comes to coffee, the starry night is my go-to choice, and it never disappoints. While I enjoy an occasional pastry, the food offerings have never quite won me over. However, the main draw for me is not the food but the inviting atmosphere that fosters a sense of community and peace. I LOVE this coffee shop for the coffee and other goodies you can order there but also for the atmosphere. It's my favorite place to meet up with friends or to share an hour or two with my husband over a cup of coffee. I also love that I can get a Christopher Elbow chocolate or two there too without having to drive downtown KCMO. If you haven't tried it I highly recommend that you do. read more

A minute or two later a lady came in and was waiting behind me, and after a minute or two she asked if I had been waiting long. I told her the truth, and eventually a barista came out and asked me if I had been waiting long? I explained that I had, and had tried to catch someone's attention. I ordered an iced matcha and the lady behind me ordered some other drink. Guess who's came out first? I waited a few more minutes and noticed the another barista (a guy) had just started making an iced match, which apparently was my drink. Where were the girls? In the back, chatting away and giggling. I guess neither of them knew how to make an iced matcha.
