Had to try the Chicago style hot dog while in Chicago, of course! Food - 4.5/5 - I liked this a lot more than I thought it I would! The hot dog was so yummy, on a perfect bun for everything that's in it. The hot dog itself felt like such better quality too than just a normal one on the street. The bun changed, the beef was plentiful, sliced and in a watery sauce with dried oregano...no flavor... and the bun was different and tough. even dipping it didn't soften it. It was the most expensive italian beef in the city at $16.00 (most are $10 or $12) I loved the big sweet peppers they used to have but now they have a small portion of small chopped pieces of mushy peppers...awful! $38 for two inedible sandwiches with something watery poured over them and one order of onion rings before tip. He said that the burger and hotdog were one of the bests for this style of restaurant in the city of Chicago, which is high praise coming from a Chicago native. He also rated it 5/5. Anyone who hasn't been here could have trouble finding it. It happens to be in the basement, down a set of stairs from Monsignor Murphy's. This is certainly quite a dingy place. A few tables are inside, which actually is bigger than it looks. There appears to be no bathroom: there's no room for one. As for the hot dogs, they're basic but good. It's about $8 each, kind of a lot. These are pretty big, and come with French fries or tater tots. Many flavors to choose from. Of course the Chicago style. Even plant based. The Willie Dog is vegan. Seems the tots are okay but these aren't among the best. Thankfully these are always included. Besides hot dogs, there's also burgers.
