They remind me of Raising Cane's because their menu is very simple; chicken tenders, fries, toast, coleslaw, and frozen custard for dessert. The inside of the place is pretty simple too with lots of comfortable seating. I got the original combo box with 5 tenders, fries, toast, and slaw. We didn't wait long at all before everything was ready and it was really good. Their sauce had a nice zest to it. The tenders were a bit small but were still good and not dry. This was the worst product I've ever picked up from the store. Called the store and was told the manager isn't in today and to call back tomorrow! The fries were absolutely cold, hard and very bland. Didn't taste good at all. The chicken tenders were extremely very small and tasteless! Do Better Guthrie's!! I've never had such a bad food experience with Guthrie's until now. Guthrie's has had this issue before but today takes the cake. They combine incredibly hot food with cheap Styrofoam containers. Sometimes there's just a little deformation but to my surprise today, it melted clear through and most of the fries melded with the container. Never again. read more

My mom and stepdad got Guthrie's tonight for dinner when I was visiting. This was my first experience with Guthrie's, and in general I was impressed. They got a deal on a bucket of chicken tenders, and that was one thing in particular that I liked, that you can get a bucket of chicken tenders. This was great for my family to share. And I liked the flavor of the chicken tenders. They reminded me of tenders from Raising Cane's, but these tenders were more tender. I was also impressed by the signature sauce, which seemed like a mix between Ranch and barbecue sauce. I would definitely get Guthrie's again. I appreciate their small menu, which means what they do offer has been perfected. read more

During the lock-down, I occasionally get take-out or drive-thru. Guthrie's is a favorite of mine with a few cautions. They are currently running their 25 chicken fingers for $20 bucks deal. I can pick this up on Monday and have tasty chicken for several meals thru the week. They have EXCELLENT chicken fingers. Exceptionally good. Tender, moist, good for the grown-ups and the kids. The bad news. The fries are at best edible. Just skip them. My sister loves the Guthrie's signature sauce, I'm not a fan. They have a limited menu so if you don't like chicken--don't go. They are also a little pricey. Overall, great chicken--skip the rest. read more

Guthrie's is located where Izzy's used to be. The menu is simple: chicken, sauce, fries. I tried a "snack" menu option: 3 strips, fries, and some sauce. The sauce is peppery. It was OK but not my favorite. The strips were delicious but a little smaller than I expected. I should've known a menu option called "snack" wouldn't be enough for lunch. My fault. I tried Guthries for the first time today and was not impressed. I got the box which had 4 small tenders, 7 fries (yes I counted them!), Texas toast, and coleslaw. I waited 10 minutes for my food even though there was no one else in the restaurant - I was told they were waiting on fries, and that must have been true because the fries were extremely hot and very good - I just wish there had been a few more because seemed like a very skimpy portion to me. The coleslaw was fine and the Texas toast would have been very good except it was room temperature. Not sure if that's how it's supposed to be or if it just got cold sitting for 10 minutes waiting on fries, but it would have been much better if it were at least a little warm. The chicken though . . it was just bad. It was barely warm - again, maybe it got cold sitting around waiting so long for the fries. The breading was soft and soggy and so greasy I had to blot it with a napkin. The chicken was incredibly salty (and I love my salt so for me to say something is too salty is very unusual). I think that had to have been a problem with someone in the kitchen salting it multiple times, there is no way it's supposed to taste like that. My guess is that I caught them on a bad day. However, when the only thing you serve is chicken fingers you need to do them well and these were downright terrible. I ended up throwing some of the chicken away because the salt was just so overpowering. I went at noon and I thought it was odd that I was the only customer - having eaten there I think I now understand why. This has basically the same menu as Raising Cane's but Cane's is way better so I'd suggest going there if you're in the mood for chicken fingers. read more

Stopped this past week and ordered a Box meal: chicken fingers, fries, slaw and toast for 8.50 plus tax. This is the second time trying Guthries. My experience has been the same both times. It was, in 3 words: overpriced and terrible. A tiny portion of chicken in 4, lukewarm, overly breaded and dried out pieces. I had to look up the description of the Box meal and noticed they tell you it's 5oz of chicken and 5oz of fries. I guess they get points for telling you the portion size. False advertising. In an effort to support local businesses we drive to the restaurant after seeing the front lines with signs advertising a $20 bucket. We placed our order and were told that the offer was expired and the cost was now 27.99. We asked why the signs were posted and if the offer would be honored and were refused. The food here almost never disappoints! Sometimes there is a wait but that's because the company is all about getting it to you as fresh as can be. The staff is usually friendly & you can tell they prioritize keeping a clean and well kept dining area. Can be a little pricey but you're paying for high quality chicken. read more
