I've been meaning to stop by here for a long time and it finally happened. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's lots of room to spread out and sit and for some reason they have really tall ceilings. But other than that it's a welcoming atmosphere you where you order up at the counter and then take a number and they bring it to you.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got the big pimento chicken sandwich. It was actually pretty darn tasty! A huge piece of chicken on it as well. I could pick a side and I picked some of the country mashed potatoes with some kicking gravy. Definitely need that spice! It was pretty good. Friend just got some chicken wings that come on top of toast and also a side. So it's pretty pricey for what you get. I guess chicken is a lot of protein and that's probably why it is pricey but just beforewarned, it's a little bit of a splurge. Nothing cheap here at all. But definitely tastes good quality! The chicken and the spices are amazing and I would definitely come back for that.

This place was amazing! The service was outstanding! Everyone had a smile and they gave me recommendations and everything. The food was good too! That picke definitely was a surprise . [[HIGHLIGHT]]Place was super clean and well taken care of.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Definitely a must visit

Wow! I wasn't expecting to love the food so much. The Jojo sauce with Ella's heat on the fried chicken was incredible! I really loved dipping the fries into the Jojo sauce. The employee working was super nice and recommended all of the food I had. She placed all food orders and kept the dining area clean. Food was pricier than expected for a combo meal but I'd happily pay again!

There's another hot chicken place in Northern Kentucky that I'm not the biggest fan of, so I've been avoiding Joella's thinking it was more of the same and was I so, so wrong. Joella's is the real deal! I love that you can customize essentially every part of the dish, from the spice level to the dip. The service was outstanding, and the staff when above and beyond to make sure my toddler was taken care of. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space was pretty quiet, but it looked like they kept plenty busy with delivery orders.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Definitely will be back soon!

Every time we eat here, we are never disappointed! The chicken is always hot and delicious, the sides are delicious and the sauces are great too! We stopped here for dinner last night and I tried the Ella's favorite and now it is MY favorite! I highly recommend Joella's. See my attached pictures

Having high hopes and empty bellies my family and I decided to try Joella's hot chicken. We ordered the tenders, nuggets, thighs and big wings. For sides we tried the plain fries, garlic Parmesan fries, Mac and cheese and the red skinned mashed potato with gravy. The fries both regular and garlic parm were excellent. Well seasoned, thin cut making them nice and crispy right to the end. The mashed potato was decent possibly lacking in a bit of salt and pepper. The Mac and cheese was creamy and a bit gluey. I kind of wish that there was a bit of cheesy crust (like when baked) on the top. On to the chicken....the nuggets were overcooked. Not sure if it was the breading but salty in flavor. The tenders were super disappointing. Dry and lacking flavor despite ordering hot I wish the chicken was marinated or brined before breading and frying. Doing so would make the chicken tender and juicy. The wings were somewhat the same. Pretty flavorless and in need of a brine or marinade. Overall I was pretty underwhelmed by Joella's and wouldn't be going out of the way to go again.

I have been wanting to try out Joella's for a while - we visited after an airport run picking up a friend. The service is phenomenal - the lady at the counter was very helpful as we had never been before and made great recommendations. They were also very helpful as we were leaving. Very impressed with the management and the service! The food was good. The chicken breading was flavorful. I wish I would have gotten one of their house sauces instead of ranch to dip my tenders in - their sauces look fantastic (I just didn't see them on the menu at the time of ordering). The fries were good, but not fantastic (in my humble opinion). I love all kinds of fries - shoestring, boardwalk, steak fries - these are more like shoestring and crispy and have cheese and garlic on them - but it wasn't a 10/10 for me. The chicken shines over the fries. I may have to try another side when I go back. Atmosphere was good - we caught it Easter Sunday evening, so it wasn't very busy. Nothing fancy, but we were there for the fried chicken! I would go back for sure.

    Ella's chicken !!!

The food and the service is amazing I would highly recommend this place if you like spicy food!

I lived in Nashville for a long time. Lots of places claim to have "Hot Chicken" but it isn't right. Joella's nailed it on every level. Big juicy tenders on a piece of white bread with a pickle. 10/10 get over here

Used to be excellent until they got rid of the Big Wings and Bama sauce. Now the wings are bland and overly breaded similar to Hooters.

They had parking, and although they were full on reservations, 2 spots at the bar opened up and we grabbed them happily! First, the food was FANTASTIC! I had the Willy Burger and my husband had the fried bologna sandwich and we both loved what we ordered and vice versa. The sauce on the burger was phenomenal! The drink menu was extensive and looked so good but we were in a bit of a hurry and I'm 6 months pregnant so we settled for waters. Second, the service was excellent. Everyone was so kind and helpful. The ambience was great, I loved the big open garage door and patio seating they offered. The decor was so cute! We are bummed that brunch reservations for tomorrow are full, but we will absolutely be back!

They have a nice outdoor area, which we avoided due to the current heatwave. We ordered two apps - FRIED GREEN TOMATOES - Topped with Libby's pimento cheese, pork belly lardons, bourbon onion jam, and herb oil and FRIED CHICKEN SKINS - Hand breaded and served with hot honey dipping sauce. The fried green tomatoes were nicely plated, though the pork belly lardons and bourbon onion jam did not have the most pleasant color. They were good, but not as great as the description. Fried chicken skin is the thing! I first had it when we lived in California. An Asian market served them up thinly breaded and fried perfectly crispy. I just about jumped out of my skin when I saw it on the menu at Libby's. The breading at Libby's is thick. It's tasty for sure, but it's quite thick. A quick glance at the chicken skins and it looks like full-on chicken. Anyway, they were very good and I would definitely order them again. I had a taste of the hot honey dipping sauce because it spilled. It was good, but for me it detracted from the flavor I'm looking for. I had to have the FRIED BOLOGNA BLT - House smoked bologna, pimento cheese, fried egg, house made BBQ sauce, spring mix lettuce, & sliced green tomato on grilled 16 Bricks sourdough. First, it was huge! I could only eat half. It was very good. All the different flavors mixed together well. It was messy!! It was so obviously messy the server brought over extra napkins without us having to ask! Top Notch! Oh, the mac and cheese side was just okay. I barely touched it. The second half of the sandwich was delicious cold. It was also not messy at all. The leftover mac and cheese had turned inedible in the fridge. I did not mind throwing it out. My friend had the CLASSIC TURKEY CLUB. It was also huge and she only ate half. The fries were crispy and delicious. Mark had THE DOC HOLLADAY. He said it was okay. He also only ate half. I think he enjoyed the cold leftover more. I like the menu; lots of options. The place is cute. The staff is great. We'd definitely come back.

I had the Alaskan halibut with crab and creamy risotto and I loved it. My husband had the pecan-crusted chicken. We both had salads, and I ordered a piece of carrot cake to go. I thought we were going to rent a U-Haul for that piece of cheesecake. It was about 1/4 of a big cake. It was good...not my favorite carrot cake, but good. Love Amore Besotted Take great people (Melinda was our server and the chef came out to check on us...more about Melinda later)... Combine it with great food and great ambiance, and you get this restaurant! The first thing that you notice when you walk in is that it feels like home. Some restaurants focus heavily on decor and leave a lot to be desired in terms of ambiance, the people, and the food. And in other restaurants, you walk in and feel as if you can stay there forever. This is one of those places. We stayed there for a while. Imagine being in Grandmom's living room with pictures on the wall and positive music playing in the background. That's Soul Secrets. The menu is big enough to make sure that everyone can find something to eat, but not so big that you will struggle to make a decision. From fried catfish and grits to French toast to salmon croquettes and the largest pancake on Earth, there is something for everyone. My niece ordered the French toast, and my sister ordered a special breakfast that came with a pancake, grits, eggs, potatoes, and sausage. I was still hungry from last night's meal, (and you can read about it in another review) so I just nibbled off of my sister's meal. The French toast came out first, and I could tell immediately that the chef knew what she was doing. The rest of the food came out, and again, they brought the largest pancake I've ever seen. My sister was treating us today, and I was glad that the menu prices were very reasonable. My niece said that the French toast was delicious, and she ate as much as she could. She has a dance performance tonight and made sure that she didn't put her show at risk. It was difficult for her because the food was so good, but she managed and took a box home to eat it later. Yes. My sister nibbled on everything else and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the grits and some of the pancake, and I have to say that it was very difficult for me to stop eating because it tasted so good. The pancake was perfectly cooked and fluffy with crispy bits on the edge. The grits were creamy and flavorful, even without cheese. The coffee was great. I had several cups. All in all, it was arguably better than any breakfast I've had at any restaurant that serves it. Now let's get back to Melinda. So often, the dining experience can be directly related to the person that greets you when you take a seat. Thank goodness we were greeted by Melinda. She has one of those energies and personalities that makes you feel as if she has been in your family for years. Funny and friendly, but at the same time, dedicated to making sure that you have a good experience. Again, I felt like I was at someone's home rather than in a restaurant. She called me a "troublemaker," which means that somehow she was seeing the 20-year-old version of me instead of the person that I am today. lol So here's the summary. If you are in Cincinnati and you want a great meal, there are many restaurants to choose from. It appears to be a pretty decent restaurant town. But if you want to FEEL Cincinnati, while feeling right at home and having one of the best meals ever- Soul Secrets is one for the ages.

But the lovely owner/manager came over and said the "drinks are on me" because we waited so long. We appreciated that! The fried chicken was good, but the breading was very salty. The green beans were almost inedible because they were so salty. The mashed potatoes were average. The biscuits were fantastic. The fried deviled eggs were okay. A regular deviled egg is better. The shrimp and grits had a lot going on. The shrimp was lightly battered and fried (?) and the flavor of the dish was bold. I think sauteed shrimp and a little less gravy would make it perfect.

We were greeted by a very friendly hostess, and our equally pleasant server quickly brought menus and asked what we would like to drink. When it was my turn, I happily ordered Coppin's Old Fashioned. I was the odd man out because everyone else ordered the Spring Manhattan. Judging by how quickly everyone's drinks disappeared, I'd say they were all very tasty. I was a little unsure about mine at first, so to make sure the quality and taste were consistent, I ordered a second, and it definitely was not a mistake. I ordered the B+G biscuits (which are made by hand according to server in the hotel) and gravy with an extra egg. Others at the table chose a variety of dishes, including the CVG, Cobb Salad, Bagel and Lox, and several other selections. Based on the clean plates all around the table, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. My wife ordered a sample of banana bread, and I was fortunate enough to snag a small bite, it was excellent. After we had all finished, everyone agreed that my niece had made an excellent choice for her graduation celebration brunch. As my wife and I made our way back to Louisville, we both commented that we would definitely return the next time we were in Covington.

I went to Camporosso expecting the usual "artisan pizza experience," which normally means three…read morethings: 1. Tiny portions 2. Huge prices 3. A waiter who calls water "hydration." Instead, I got something shocking... Actual great pizza!!! The wood-fired crust comes out blistered and charred just enough to whisper, "I went to Italy for a semester and didn't come back with a man bun." It's crispy outside, chewy inside ... the kind of texture that makes you forget every sad, floppy chain pizza you've ever eaten in a strip mall next to a vape store. The toppings? Legit. We're talking San Marzano tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, hot honey, and fancy meats that sound like they have their own passport. And here's the real shocker: It's not pretentious. Nobody lectures you about "mouthfeel." Nobody asks if you want your pizza "deconstructed." Nobody serves it on a wooden plank shaped like Vermont. It's just seriously good pizza ... the kind that makes you say, "Wow, maybe civilization isn't collapsing after all." And the wood-fired flavor? Smoky, slightly charred, and rich...like it was baked by a Tuscan grandmother who also owns a flamethrower. The owner just showed me their home made pasta dish for the Friday in Lent. Looks amazing!! Thank you Patrick for the tip!!

We were there for lunch and were having a hard time deciding what pizza types to have when the waitress suggested that we choose 2 types per pizza. That worked out perfectly! We loved the meats paired with the prosciutto and fig. The pepperoni and hot honey was also outstanding. The wood fired crust was perfectly chewy, and I love that they use flour from Italy to make it. I definitely understand why the reviews for this place are so high. And it was packed on a Wednesday at lunch.
