Our rain gutter near our entry was leaking badly during a heavy downpour today. I contacted Gutter Guru and the owner, David, was able to come this afternoon. He gave me a very fair quote for gutter cleaning of my 2-story house and caulking one gutter. He also cleaned out the downspout area on my patio that was clogged with dirt and moss. The before and after photos made me glad I called him before the next rains start tonight. I hired them to level and reattach my gutters in a couple places. They reattached and leveled somewhat, but after they left I discovered water was still pooling and leaking in a couple places. I asked Dave to come back and he said he would, but he never did. I texted him again today and got no reply at all. Also, they only cleaned up a little after themselves; I had to do a lot of sweeping and hosing myself. Oh yeah, one more thing -- he said he'd email me photos of before and after. I never got anything. If all you want is for them to clean the gutters, MAYBE you could call them, but definitely don't hire them to fix them. read more

Contacted David from "Gutter Guru Encinitas" and after giving him the who, what, why, where, and when details of my gutter cleaning request, we were immediately able to negotiate a price and schedule a gutter cleaning appointment. David and his teammate were on-time and well prepared to clean the gutters on our one story, single family home. A nice touch on David's part is the fact that he takes "before & after" pictures. Asked what he does with the organic gutter debris, David noted that they meld it into the yard's mulch and flower beds. Additionally, using our garden hose they sprayed the residual organic matter down the corner drain spouts of the roof thus ensuring a clean flow of water and material. A bit surprisingly, David is a little short on the "paperwork" aspect of his business but he did deliver, on time and by all indications according to specifications. Amended the review when I did a spot check of our gutters and found they were not as pristine as I had thought they were when David departed.
