We came for a baby shower, so I can't speak to the cost, but this seems like they specialize in hosting private parties. Everything was pretty streamlined. The tables were a little tightly packed together, but the server quickly brought out bread (the cheesy one was really good), let people choose an entree out of 3 options, then brought out a shareable pasta dish appetizer. I got the stuffed shrimp which came with vegetables. The sauce on it was pretty heavy, but overall a great dish. They ended with a plate of sweet treats and one with fruit, and they also cut up the brought in cake. Overall food was great, a lot of people were able to get together to celebrate, and the service was efficient for drinks/plate removal. There is a decent sized parking lot. It seemed everyone was happy with the food and the chance to get together, so it was a great venue to rent for an event. read more

NEVER AGAIN Recently I went to the restaurant with my wife and another couple. We had a nice time and we then paid the bill in cash and left a very nice tip, When we got home the waitress actually called my home and told my wife we didn't leave any tip. I most certainly did. Obviously one of the staffers saw cash and an opportunity and took it. How dare they call my home. never again!!! read more

I paid cash for a meal and left a sizable tip. My wife gets a phone call an hour after we left the restaurant from the waitress saying we didn't leave a tip. Went on a slow Tuesday night (8/13) and literally only one other table was full. I got the Penne Rustica (penne, sausage, tomatoes in garlic sauce). The penne was way overcooked, it was slimy. My wife's chicken parm was watery. The tap water tasted like dirt and chlorine mixed, and was room temperature. So we ordered sprites which came with the entire glass full of ice and very little soda. I told the waitress the food was overcooked and while she did initially offer to replace the meal, I didn't feel like waiting so I said I'll deal with it. At the end, she took off the overpriced soda from the bill, not the meal lol. How can an Italian place mess up pasta dishes? I'll never ever go back. read more

Came in for dinner on a Friday night. Place is smaller than it looks which is fine except the tables are super close together. It was early so not super loud yet but you can hear every word of conversation from the tables next to you (especially since we were at a tiny table in the middle). Margarita was OK but flavor was a bit off. The fried mozzarella in scampi sauce was unique but very rich. The sauce was delicious but didn't seem to fit the dish for us. Clams Oreganata were good, no sand at all, but the clams stuck to the shell making them a bit difficult to eat. Veal piccata was OK not as tender as it could be and the knives at the table were not helping. The piccata sauce was tasty but the portion was a bit small for the price and no capers to be found. I didn't realize capers were something you need to ask for when it's a standard component of a dish at least usually. Veal marsala (same comment about portion size) was delicious. Sauce was darker in color than most so maybe less cream but delicious regardless. Service was friendly but felt a little rushed. read more

They had a male singer that first of all might have had the worse voice I have ever heard along with the fact that he was so loud you had to struggle to have a conversation. I love going out to a place with entertainment but the volume has to be reasonable and the talent has to be descent. I think Guy should reconsider having this person return. In the Merrick/Bellmore area restaurants open and close with alarming regularity. Very few become neighborhood fixtures, as that requires, a great chef, a professional, friendly staff and, of course, great food and drinks. It's no surprise that after many years Guy Anthony's has become one of those neighborhood fixtures. It's certainly our "go to" place for dinner. In addition to the regular menu Italian you can always a few surprises on the daily menu. The Italian selections are always superb. We have been holding on to a gift certificate for Guy Anthony's Italian Bistro for several years and finally decided to go. We were so impressed and decided it would now be our "go-to" place. There were three chefs (with head coverings) in a wide open kitchen for everyone to watch (I like that!). Two waitresses and Guy Anthony stayed at the front of the house, and it all equated to a well-oiled machine! Guy seated us and went back to working the bar. The two waitresses seamlessly waited tables, bussed them, took orders, brought them out, and filled water glasses while smiling and talking with the customers. Our waitress, Jeannie, introduced herself and then asked for our names. For the rest of the evening, she would say things such as, "Bill, do you want another drink? Diana, how is your salad?" I felt as if we were in the "Cheers" bar ---- a place where everybody knows your name! Jeannie brought a basket to the table: cheesy bread and mini pizza bread, and set it down next to a small vase with a fresh rose. I browsed the menu: I usually get fried calamari for an appetizer, but I noticed that one of the menu items was calamari over pasta (you could have any sauce you wished). The calamari could be sauteed or fried. I opted for fried over linguine with garlic and oil. The calamari was so crisp on the outside yet incredibly tender. And, for the first time ever, there wasn't a puddle of oil at the bottom of the plate; it was perfect. My husband ordered Veal Piccata. Jeannie said, "It doesn't come with capers. Would you like some?" (Wow!) My husband never picked up his knife; the veal was so tender that he could cut it with his fork! Despite a large party of eight at the table next to us, Jeannie was extremely attentive to our needs. She didn't rush us. When taking our dessert order, I asked for raspberry sorbet. She returned and said they were out of raspberry; she asked if I would care for lemon or mango. When she brought the lemon sorbet, she told me she didn't charge me for it because it wasn't what I wanted. ---How delightful! And I must say, the sorbet was crisp, tart, and refreshing! As you can see from the photos I posted, it's a real cozy, comfy neighborhood spot. People were eating at the bar, chatting with each other, and speaking with Guy and the waitresses. The ambiance was palpable, the food was extraordinary, and the prices were very reasonable. We wouldn't change a thing! read more

We had a fine meal and experience at Guy Anthony's. I was in town visiting my sister, so we went for some nice Italian food. Everything was really good, from the Old Fashioned and wine at the start to the Sambuca at the end. I had a veal piccata that was delicious after starters of crispy Brussels sprouts and a fried eggplant/burrata plate. Katie, our server, was terrific. Tried guys for the first time today 4/7/19. This place is a hidden gem in Bellmore/Merrick. The owner was very accommodating. Guy Anthony's is a local favorite with families. I've only eaten here once, but my parents love it. I had one of the pasta dishes and thought it was just fine. The wine was equally okay. Our waitress was friendly but maybe not the most attentive. We went on a Friday night and while the dining room was pretty empty, the bar area was full! I guess it's that kind of place. I didn't hate this place - the food was good and the portion sizes were okay but the prices were pretty crazy for an average pasta dish.
